Police Pursuit problem
This is a well recorded issue with ELSV. It is caused by the function which enables you to force traffic out of your way by using your siren. Unfortunately the game makes no distinction between traffic cars and suspect vehicles, so if you change siren tone close behind a suspect they will accelerate in a straight line and smash into things. The only fix right now is to go into your ELS.ini file and change the line ElsTrafCtrlOn = true to ElsTrafCtrlOn = false This also means you won't be able to force traffic anymore either.

Have you installed a mod to make your lights bright such as RadianceV?

gta iv not working!
"gta iv not working" doesnt really say anything at all. I probably can't help you since I'm not currently using GTA4, but if someone else wants to help you they will need more then just 'it's not working'. That doesn't tell us anything. Many people will simply ignore threads with vague descriptions like that. You need to tell us things like whether you are using the steam or retail version of the game, whether the game is crashing or simply not loading, when the crash is occuring (during the main loading screen, when you click play in the menu etc.) If you can post that kind of information you not only have a much higher chance of somebody helping you, you also have a higher chance of getting your problems solved.

It's no problem :) I hope that means the issue is resolved. Sorry it took so long, but when it comes to modding there are no guarantees.

Lights not working, please help
Ok I've successfully got the Tahoe working in the policeold1 slot with no issues. No special troubleshooting needed. Clearly there is something wrong on your end which is preventing it from working. I'll walk you through installing this tahoe step by step to make sure you do everything right: Firstly, DELETE YOUR MOD FOLDER. There is no way around this. I have no idea what you've done to cause this issue but without physically being at your PC there is no way for me to find out, so the only way to be sure the problem is gone is to delete your mod folder. This obviously means you will need to re-install any other mods you have installed, but if you don't there is high chance you will run into more issues in the future. Now that your copy of GTAV is clean, we can install the model. Rename the model's files as per usual to policeold1.yft policeold1.ytd policeold1_hi.yft Then download the carvariations.meta and vehicles.meta at the bottom of the post. Place all the files somewhere where you can easily find them. A good place would be a new folder on your desktop. Open up OPENIV, and at the top of the window click on the button labeled 'Edit mode'. Go to update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday12ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf, Then click on the red button that says 'Copy to "mods" folder'. Once it's finished copying the file, click on the little green cross on the top bar. In the window that pops up, navigate to the location where you have placed your new files (which will be the folder on your desktop if you followed my suggestion), select all three of the vehicle model files (policeold1.yft, policeold1.ytd and policeold1_hi.yft) and click 'Open'. The files should now be visible in the window, probably at the bottom of the list. Now go to update\x64\dlcpacks\mpluxe2\dlc.rpf\common\data. Once again click click on the red button that says 'Copy to "mods" folder'. Once it's finished copying the file, right click on 'carvariations.meta' and click 'Replace' on the pop up menu. In the window that appears navigate once again to the location of your new files, select the 'carvariations.meta' file and then click 'Open'. The original carvariations file should now be overridden by mine. If you double click on the 'carvariations.meta' in the main window it will show the contents of the file in a preview window. The first entry should be 'policeold1'. If it is, then you are good to go. OPTIONAL STEPS: The vehicle will now appear ingame and have functioning lights, but if you try to drive it at speed it will flip constantly when you try to corner. To fix this you will need to give it a better handling line by editing the vehicles.meta. I've already done this for you. In OPENIV, go to update\update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5. Once again click click on the red button that says 'Copy to "mods" folder'. Once it's finished copying the file, right click on 'vehicles.meta' and click 'Replace' on the pop up menu. In the window that appears navigate once again to the location of your new files, select the 'vehicles.meta' file and then click 'Open'. The original vehicles.meta file should now be overridden by mine. Now open GTAV and test it out. The Tahoe lights should be flashing, but they will be dull because you won't have any lighting mods installed. If you're having trouble seeing the lights, drive to a dark area like a tunnel or change the time to midnight, the lights should be visible. carvariations.meta vehicles.meta

Lights not working, please help
From what you're telling me they should be working fine. Not sure what the issue is. As I said in the previous post, the only way I can be sure that your game is clean is if you delete the contents of your mod folder and work from the ground up. You can either give up now or spend time having to re-install your mods, and there is no guarantee of a fix. Look it's currently the middle off the night where I am, but if you are willing to wait a while I'm going to install GTAV and try to troubleshoot the issue myself. Just not right now cause its way too late to be messing around with game files.

Lights not working, please help
Did you replace the file with my one? Did you remove any other policeold1 entries from other files? If you have installed the vehicle files correctly and followed my instructions exactly then there should be no problems. Honestly this is starting to look like what I like to call a "rookie mess" which is when your inexperience is causing you to make mistakes without realizing you are doing anything wrong. There's nothing wrong with that (we all started out the same way) but it makes things more challenging. Our troubleshooting may not help because there could be problems with some things you've done which we simply don't know about. At this point the honest best suggestion I can make is to delete your mods folder in the game directory and start from scratch (I'm assuming you have everything installed into a mods folder right? You should always install into a mods folder like OpenIV suggests.). Once you've done that, ONLY install the Tahoe into the policold1 slot and ONLY install my provided carvariations.meta into the mpchristmas2 folder. If you do that and only that to a clean game then it should work 100%. If it doesn't then test it in the fbi2 slot which should work without needing to change any meta's. If it still doesn't work then your only options are to waste even more hours of time on this problem, or just use it in a different slot. Also consider using another model instead. Welcome to the world of modding; sometimes things just don't wanna work. Edit: I've also noticed that you are receiving troubleshooting help on the same issue from other people. Its' probably best if you just follow one persons advice at a time, since different people have different ways of solving things and following two sets of instructions at the same time is probably just making things worse. For now, go follow their instructions instead of mine and come back here if nothing is working. I'll keep following this thread just in case you have questions, so please let me know if you solve the problem so I can move on.

Lights not working, please help
I don't think the policeold1 slot actually has a corresponding entry in any of the accessible files, so I'm not sure what you are editing unless you've already added it manually. Anyway, I don't currently have Gta5 installed so I'm going mostly from memory but I will try and help. If the problem is with the carvariations file then this should solve it. Using OpenIV, go to update\x64\dlcpacks\mpchristmas2\dlc.rpf\common\data Now you have two choices: If you have not edited that file before, simply use the carvariations file I attached to the bottom of this post. It is the original carvariations file with the necessary changes made for you. You may not want to download files from some stranger on the internet but it is just a text file; it would be extremely difficult for me to infect your PC with that. Once you downloaded it simply replace the original file in OpenIV and you should be good to go, If you have other vehicle mods which have changed that file in some way or you don't trust my file, then you will need to edit it manually. Extract the carvatiations.meta to your desktop and open it with notepad. The top of the file should have something like this: <CVehicleModelInfoVariation> <variationData>
(Note: there are more lines written below but they don't matter right now.) Now make sure you do this correctly. Create a new line between <variationData> and
. Like this: <CVehicleModelInfoVariation> <variationData>
In the newly created gap paste the following:
<modelName>policeold1</modelName> <colors>
<indices content="char_array"> 134 134 156 156 </indices> <liveries>

</liveries>

<indices content="char_array"> 134 134 156 156 </indices> <liveries>

</liveries>

<indices content="char_array"> 134 134 156 156 </indices> <liveries>

</liveries>

<indices content="char_array"> 134 134 156 156 </indices> <liveries>

</liveries>

<indices content="char_array"> 134 134 156 156 </indices> <liveries>

</liveries>
</colors> <kits>
157_massacaro2_modkit
</kits> <windowsWithExposedEdges /> <plateProbabilities> <Probabilities /> </plateProbabilities> <lightSettings value="1" /> <sirenSettings value="1" />
(Note: this isn't the line for that vehicle specifically but it should work anyway) The top of the file should now look something like this: <CVehicleModelInfoVariation> <variationData>
<modelName>policeold1</modelName> (Note: Once again, there are more lines written below but they don't matter right now.) Now save the edited file and replace the original 'carvariations.meta' in the game files. If you've done this properly you should be good to go. EDIT: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT If you have added an entry for 'policeold1' to any other carvariations files make sure you remove those entries so they don't interfere. carvariations.meta

Lights not working, please help
He's saying that if you had done a search on the internet you probably would have found the solution to this problem, since its been addressed many times already. Please make sure you have already done things like reading the instructions, looking at the comments and a quick google search BEFORE creating another thread for an already solved problem. If you don't it just annoys all the people that can help you and clutters up the forums. If you haven't done this stuff before then it would probably be best if you read that guide ScarletDraconis linked you to. It will go over the basics for you and directly addresses the problem you are having. If you have read that guide AND the comments and still need help, post again and I will try to assist you.

Lights not working, please help
Lets start with the basics and work our way up, since you haven't provided many details. It says in the installation instructions... "The sirensettings is 1, so change the .metas accordingly" Have you done this?

Since I don't use the comments very often, I don't know how to quote. @F5544 I know that the spotlight spawns with the default handling setup, the problem is that when you use Extra_Required it always spawns with ONE extra and one only. So it can only spawn with a spotlight but no lightbar, or a lightbar with no spotlight. That's the problem I was talking about. It's better as part of the chassis so that it always spawns. @Wayne George If you are still interested, you can force this model to spawn with a lightbar, however you will run into the missing spotlight problem that I keep mentioning. If you want to know how, there's a comment by Murphy909 on page 3 which explains how to do it.

The only problem I have with this model is the fact that the spotlight is an extra instead of a permanent part of the model. Because I've tweaked my vehicles file to make the car always spawn with a lightbar, the spotlight never spawns. Ever. Strangely though the texture for the front of the spotlight is always there regardless of whether the spotlight is on the car or not.

ELS Configuration
As an example im going to talk about enabling the Vapid Cruiser model for the police slot. The model should come with a file named vapidcruiser_lcpd_led.ini or something to that effect. Copy that into your ELS folder in the GTA4 directory. There should be another file in the ELS folder called _SLOTCONTROL. Open it up and you should see something like this: [ AMBULANCE ] Status = on File = default_config [ FBI ] Status = on File = default_config [ FIRETRUCK ] Status = on File = default_config [ NOOSE ] Status = on File = default_config [ NSTOCKADE ] Status = off File = default_config [ POLICE ] Status = on File = default_config [ POLICE2 ] Status = on File = default_config [ POLICE3 ] Status = off File = default_config [ POLICE4 ] Status = off File = default_config [ POLICEB ] Status = off File = default_config [ POLPATRIOT ] Status = on File = default_config [ PSTOCKADE ] Status = off File = default_config Go to the [ POLICE ] section and change Status = off to Status = on and File = default_config to File = vapidcruiser_lcpd_led or whatever the name of your .ini file is Repeat that for the other vehicles that you want to enable.

Game Crash When I Add +livery.
Glad at least the car works now. As for your other issue I would recommend starting up another request on the LCPDFR Support forums where someone who actually knows what they are talking about can help you (Edit: First check out this thread >here for some general troubleshooting. If none of that helps, THEN start up a support request.)

Sorry dude but I don't know what else to suggest other then contacting R* or Steam support. All I know are basic fixes and those were it.

Game Crash When I Add +livery.
There are literally thousands out there with different skins/lightbars so you are probably better off looking for one yourself to suit your taste, however I can make a couple of reccomendations off the top of my head. These are both high quality models I've used myself and know for sure that they work. ELS v8: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Non-ELS: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> If you still have issues with the liveries on either of these cars then we know for sure that it is an issue with the game and you should reply ASAP. I will get back to you as soon as possible but it appears we are in different timezones which complicates things.

GTA V PC May Be Cancelled
Well R*'s official response is out, sorta: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/communities/public/questions/201716773-Is-GTA-5-For-PC-being-delayed- And it pretty much confirms outright that the release date hasn't changed in any way. The internet got trolled big time by the looks of it.

Apologies for the slow reply, I got caught up in life stuff. I forgot to ask if you are running windows 8/8.1 If you are then you will have to install it in a slightly different way. 1). First go to Control Panel. 2). Click on Programs and Features 3). On the panel on the left click on 'Turn Windows features on or off' 4). Right at the top of the list click on the checkbox beside .NET framework 3.5 That should be it. Windows will do a couple of things and once it's done you can restart your PC.

Have you got Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed? Its Different to C++. If not that could be causing the issue. Link to the Microsoft website here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21

Game Crash When I Add +livery.
If I'm reading you correctly you mean that you have swapped police_sign_1 and police_sign_2 around to check for problems with the individual liveries? If so then good job on that since that what I was about to suggest. I've got a couple of quick questions for you. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is the vehicle designed to use liveries? I've seen some people try to put liveries into cars not designed for them before. Have you tried adding the +livery line to the vehicle while using the default liveries to check that one of the default liveries isn't causing the issue? As far as I'm aware the modded car should always come with four liveries by default and you are only replacing two, so its a possibility that the other liveries are broken.

I have a non-steam copy of GTA4 so I am not 100% sure I can help very much. Have you tried to verify the integrity of the game cache? That might detect an issue with the installation and fix it.

Can only seem to download and install one custom vehicle mod
If multiple cars are causing the same problem it is possible that the first mod caused an issue that has damaged your vehicles.img file. Can you try deleting it all together and replacing it with a clean copy before installing a new car? I've had issues in the past where a modded car has caused that exact problem and I could only ever resolve it by using a clean vehicles.img file and trying again. I've also heard vague stories of open IV itself causing this issue, so make sure its updated to the latest version.
