DukSezQuak got a reaction from Carrythxd for a gallery image, The Lineup
When the Chief of Police called us, and asked us to join him and City Councillors down at the police headquarters to see ‘the lineup,’ we sure were confused. This lineup was like no other, though. It wasn’t like in the movies when they bring a bunch of crooks into a room, line them up and have you pick out the ‘bad man.’

Instead, the lineup we were shown was of four ‘demo’ units that were dropped off at the HQ building earlier this week. In one of our previous articles, we noted the City Councils decision to upgrade the graphics on the police fleet. The Council closed a deal with a local graphics design company, and, they finally achieved the final results.

“We really loved the initial design that was brought to us, but, our officers really wanted a ‘personal touch,’ if you will” said City Police Chief Mark Anoda.
In each of the cities four districts, Vespucci, Davis, Downtown, and Vinewood – each district will have a unique graphic for their cars, while maintaining the uniform look across the city.

“We wanted to pick out unique characteristics from each area of the city, and incorporate it into the vehicles design, without taking away from the uniform look.” Chief Anoda says.

With the sleek look, the unique appearance, and the thumbs up from Council, the new fleet is expected to start hitting the streets in January of 2018. A total of 150 new police vehicles has been approved for 2018.

The City of Los Santos Council has passed a motion to redesign the existing police fleet. After council was presented with various quotes from various design companies, they chose three designs to send to the police department members for them to make the choice on which design they liked the most.

"The idea was to give the members the voice - they're the ones using these vehicles, they're the ones who knows whats best for not only them, but our communities." said Mayor Ivan Ofulitch.

The police officers decided on this design, and a final quote is in the works to be obtained for the first quarter of 2018 to phase in a total of 100 new cruisers on the streets.

And an aging problem, according to the Fire Chief in Elk Grove. The fire engines are beginning to fall apart.

In a somewhat humorous, classic Hollywood style moment, the Elk Grove Fire Department was called to an automatic fire alarm in one of the service districts, and upon arrival, the driver opened his door, and, much to their surprise, the door fell right off of the hinges.

"The fleet is unbelievably old." says Mike Ocksuge, Fire Chief in Elk Grove.

"There's not many options out there in the market. We're unfortunately stuck with the stock fire trucks."

He says that there are other trucks out there, but, the city just can't use them.

"They're in a private market. Making them very difficult to get."
