  1. No problem; I'm trying my best to help you out. Since it works for me with mostly the same files, I don't see why it doesn't work for you...unless something major in your files is different. OK, and you are using "LaunchGTAIV.exe," not "GTAIV.exe," correct? I only ask this because you say you right clicked "GTA IV" instead of "LaunchGTAIV." There are known problems when running mods with just "GTAIV.exe." Also, what I mean is that when you patched the game, you used the Russian installer, not another language installer such as English, correct? If you followed my steps correctly, then you should be playing the game by now...I installed the game fresh last week, patched it up, then installed the mod and it worked right away! Then I started adding other stuff, like modded cars and the modified xlive.dll, and the game still works fine. I don't see why you're not able to enjoy the mod right now as we speak... If you want to make a video, then please show me in it where your game folder is, what's inside the main GTA IV folder, and what's in the "Scripts" folder. If you do this, make sure I can see the file names and extentions clearly in each folder. Also show me what happens when you launch the game, like when does it have an error. You should also bring up the console by pressing the tilde ("~") button and scroll up and down slowly. It will show any errors right then. I hope something can be done to help you man; I don't know at this point if the video will show me what's wrong with your game. As for how I got the mod to work, I did exactly what the person said below (EXCEPT I used the xlive from the link I gave you):
  2. An update on the NOOSE crashes. After several test runs, I've narrowed down the problem to the Middle Park East police station. If I start LCPDFR from that police station, my game will instantaneously crash upon NOOSE requests. It will also fail to create the Police Patriot model most of the time during the car selection (see post above for details), which may be related to the NOOSE crash issue. If I start from any other police station (haven't tried all of them yet still), everything is fine; the game loads the cars correctly, and NOOSE support arrives when called for without any crashes. I called about 4 units to check if it's because of too many cars/moving parts, and that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't know what's with the Middle Park East police station, but it's very buggy and causes frequent crashes...my workaround now is to avoid it at all costs, lol! :D
  3. One more thing I would like to point out to the G17 team is that for some reason, and this also happens in both the official 0.91 and the beta 0.95, one car (Police Patriot) always has problems loading at the police station closest to the Middle Park East safehouse. When this happens, the textures will become wierd and low quality, like the known bug people have been reporting after playing for a long time. When I use a trainer to teleport other police stations (I haven't tried all of them yet), all the cars load fine. I also tried restoring the original car files (vehicles.img) and that doesn't help. There's something interesting in the log file, so I have posted it below. [ERROR - 12:39:22 PM] An unhandled exception occured in LCPD:FR. Details: Failed to create vehicle for model selection. at eval_0.eval_0.eval_0.LCPDFR-eval_8.eval_LCPDFR-6(LCPDFR-eval_1 A_0) at eval_0.eval_0.eval_0.LCPDFR-eval_8.eval_0(KeyEventArgs A_0) at CSharp.Engine.Script.ScriptManager.GKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) Debug info: Additional info: Script: Scripts.GoOnDuty CarModelIndex: 2
  4. OK, thanks! I will try that to see if it fixes the crashes.
  5. Geez, I click "edit" and it double posts for some reason. Sorry about that!
  6. Also, from one of your pictures, I see three files with xlive (batch file and 2 dlls). You only need the xlive.dll downloaded from the link I gave you, not the other files.
  7. Yes, I want to help you to play right away, but we'll have to troubleshoot one step at a time to figure out the cause of your problem. I have used both dsound.dll and xlive.dll in the past together and encountered no problems, although it is recommended not to do that. I also tried using only one (xlive.dll) and it is fine too. First off, are you using the xlive.dll downloaded from from this: http://www.gtaforums...howtopic=388658 (If not, try it. I use it and it is fine.) Second, are you running the game as an administrator? (If not, login to an admin account, right-click on the game shortcut or "LaunchGTAIV.exe," go to the tab called "compatibility," and check the box "Run as Administrator." Also try running the game in Windows XP SP3/Windows Vista SP2 compatibility mode, also in the right-click menu. Third, are you using any other mods at this time? It doesn't have to be just scripts, it can include modifications to the game's files, such as car mods. Forth, did you patch the game with the patch appropriate to your language (Russian)? (If not, download this patch: http://updates.rocks...update_7_RU.zip) If none of these help, please tell me how you installed, updated, and than ran the game.
  8. Hey, thanks for you guys' responses! Yeah, it's no big deal, just some minor details. I'm glad that it's getting fixed though! This mod is already very wonderful; I'm having a great time playing it! Thanks for your efforts, G17! On another note, the only true problem I am experiencing is a crash at random times. This happens for both the official 0.91 and the beta 0.95 (bear in mind that I'm still asking about 0.91 though). For no apparent reason, the game sometimes just stops working. After paying closer attention, however, I think it happens when a random event, like a pursuit in progress, occurs. There's also another crash whenever I set vehicle density to above 50 and then turn on any ELS light setting (J, K, or L keys) in any ELS-enabled vehicle. It's almost an instant crash situation if I do that. My system is powerful enough to handle this game and mod though, with a Core i5 2500K @ 4.50GHz and 8GB RAM and an EVGA GTX 580 OC graphics card. I do use modded "high-poly cars of death" vehicles from gtapolicemods.com; is that the problem? Any ideas on why the random crash in the ramdom pursuit events, the crash when I call for NOOSE support (and only NOOSE; police, heli, fire, and ambulance all work fine), and the ELS-related crash? The error log doesn't record anything interesting, just the constant stats reporting error, so no help posting that. Thanks for any help possible!
  9. Sorry...double post for some reason...
  10. Hello! Could you please let me know the process in which you installed and updated the game? Also let me know what steps you took to troubleshoot this issue? I'm not good at analyzing error logs, but I will try to see what went wrong for you. I used everything you used and it worked for me (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, xliveless, and both 0.91 and 0.95 LCPDFR mods).
  11. From this error message, it appears to me that you are using a fresh install of the game? It says that the application version is "1.0.0.0," when the latest update, which is required for this mod to run correctly, is "1.0.7.0." Therefore, you should download the latest update for this game. Keep in mind that you need to have all the original files for the update to install correctly because of a file integrity check, so you'll need to restore the original files if you've modded the game's files. I don't believe that LCPDFR changes the original game's files, unless you used the xliveless asi loader, so any mod besides that.
  12. Most likely you are not running the game in administrator mode. Right click the GTA IV icon and check the box "Run as Administrator" and try again. Also try running in Windows Vista/Windows XP compatibility mode to see if that helps.
  13. Hello all! I have tried looking on this website and using the search feature, but I am unable to find any documentation in regards to turning the stats reporting feature of LCPDFR off. For the record, I am using the 0.91 version, and I did not provide my username and password upon installation of the mod. The mod installed successfully, but I don't see a place in the included .ini file to turn off the stats reporting feature. I have set "Services|Enabled = True" to "Services|Enabled = False," but both the "LCPDFR.txt" and "LCPDFRErrorLog.txt" keep on filling up with stuff, the first of which is now over 100MB in about a week of game play (but the first one contains errors and debugs that are unrelated to the stats, it's the second file that fills up with things like "[9/10/2011 11:30:38 PM] [ASTATS] Anonymous usage stats not sent: possible server failure or no connectivity.")! At this rate, there will be a unneccessary file that will keep growing and taking up space...not that I don't have any, but I don't think this should be happening. Not having stats reported shouldn't be recorded in the logs as errors if I choose not to use the stats system...though I do understand and appreciate the stats system G17 is working on. Is there a way to disable the stats reporting completely and to disable the error logging feature? If not, maybe in the future add a way to opt out of stats reporting and have the system not think it is an error? Thank you in advance for any help! I appreciate it!
