OpenIV discontinued | Take Two claims game modding "illegal"
This is what it comes down to, unfortunately. It would still be virtually impossible to attack its entire PC mod user base. Still, law is law, agreements are agreements. OIV's team would be wise to release the source code for OIV. There's a strength in numbers.

I have no idea about Russian laws. OpenIV couldn't reasonably be in violation of GTA V EULA, as OpenIV is just a tool. You can't enforce your license agreement on a tool, as your license agreement is not law. If they did go to court, they would have tried to prove that it can interfere with online play. I can send a C&D to my neighbor for listening to Christian Gospel.

I also want to make it incredibly clear that a company cannot "declare" something as illegal. In order for an action to be illegal, it must be against a written and signed in law - be it local, state. or federal -- not corporate. When you purchased GTA V, you didn't actually purchase the game. You purchased the license to use a game under their user agreement. Theoretically, R* would have to take all of its users to a civil court for violating terms of service. Products like OpenIV, which are not bound to the GTA V "law" -- or user license agreement -- do not have to follow its agreement. It makes no legal difference that this tool can be used to modify game files. In theory, so can built in Windows Explorer. Where was Microsoft's C&D? The risk is entirely that of its users. I want to refer to case law, where we can look at products like Limewire (rip). Limewire itself was not illegal. The product could be used to download pirated music - which would be illegal, and not against a user license agreement of any kind. That was the doing of the user still, not the product. Limewire got itself into trouble by knowingly hosting pirated music. I'm a bit baffled with how this C&D was even taken seriously to begin with. It's unfounded, based on no laws, and is ONLY referring to GTA V's user license agreement.

Is anyone aware of a way to disable automatic updates on Steam, while still being able to play the game?

So, let's say Script Hook V is dead.
I'm not implying that it is, nor am I trying to be an alarmist. Hypothetically, let's say that Alex is done updating Script Hook V after the recent fallout - which wouldn't be unheard of. What is the future of LSPD:FR for those who cannot revert their game back? Has anyone been able to contact Alex or heard from him? I do find it unlikely that he would abandon such a project without telling anyone.

Murrysville Police (2013+ FPI - Los Santos Version Included)
- 71 downloads
- Version 1.0.0
This is a paint scheme based off of the design of the Murrysville Police PI's. Murrysville is an up-scale suburb East of Pittsburgh in Westmoreland County. Future plans for a utility version and a K9 edition of this vehicle have been arranged. I have also included a Los Santos version of this scheme, which simply replaces Murrysville with Los Santos, for those who like the style but prefer the city name. This should work on any 2013+ Ford Police Interceptor non-utility, but is designed for the following vehicle: -
New PC - Show off your rig.
Thanks! I'm running HDMI right now, but the 970 does have Display Port options. As for right now, I have the stock cooler in. I have a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO that I am intent on putting in. I wanted to see how effective it was, so I figured I would run the stock for a week, then compare how cool the new fan runs.

- Version 1.0
Los Santos Medic Rescue (Type II Sprinter) This is a variation of the new Mercedes Sprinter model, designed for the agency Los Santos Medic Rescue. This is an ALS (Advanced Life Support) rig that can respond to any emergency ranging from trauma, to cardiac arrests. This is a heavily re-textured version of the original police van mod, improving LED lighting, and customizing textures to be appropriate for EMS. If you are tired of the old clunky looking trucks provided by the stock game, this truck is for you. Credits ChrisR - Creating 3D Model Tim - Poly Count is reasonable because of him. BritishGamer88 - Converted this model from GTA IV, and created the model oringinally for GTA IV. Citadel - Creating the Los Santos Medic Rescue Edition of this Mod Known Issues Just like a real Type II ambulance, be careful how fast you corner this.- 6 comments

AI consider you an AI
Every pursuit gets air support in my book.

AI consider you an AI
If you noticed in game, AI will form a line when pursuing suspects. This beats the organized chaos of IV. However, you are rammed out of the way. It would be nice if there were a way to trick the AI in-game to thinking that you were AI as well to be able to take primary in pursuits.

[Unmarked] Landstalker PI

- Version 1.5.0
Unmarked Landstalker Police Interceptor Since GTA III, the Landstalker has been an iconic SUV in the sight of long-time players. In tribute to this wonderful vehicle, I present the unmarked Landstalker PI. The LS-PI features a unique, game-changing lighting package. The LS-PI is totally un-marked, meaning that there are no obvious apparatus on the vehicle to identify it as a police vehicle to other drivers. This vehicle replaces FBI2 (Granger) Lighting Package Front and Side (6x) - Red and Blue Side-Mirror Lamps (2) - Red and Blue Alternating Grille Lamps (4) Rear (3x) - Red / Blue Plate Lights - Wig-Wag Tail Lights - Blue Reverse Lamps Bugs (minor) - Interior needles do not work? Working to figure out why this is the case. Preview Install - Replaces FBI2 (see readme) - Can use default handling, or Landstalker (included in readme)- 15 comments

pursuitReady - Crown Victoria Handling Mod
I will look into this, however, this is a false alarm. The only contents of the zip file are two text files, so I'm not sure what is upsetting your virus software. It is -- for the most part. The stupid thing about GTA V is that AI cars don't follow the same handling data as non-AI do. Police cars are defined as "sports car" handling, which is why they shoot by you and yet you can't keep up. This mod is designed to help you keep up, and get up to speed. Crown Vics are not particularly slow, but they were junkers by default in-game. Unless driven by AI, at which point they would be able to reach the speeds of the Adder. I went ahead and scanned the file with Avast! and MalwareBytes Premium, and was likewise unable to find out what was causing the false flags. Both Avast and MalwareBytes said that the file was safe.

pursuitReady - Crown Victoria Handling Mod

- Version 1.0.0
Pursuit Ready Mod Crown Victoria Handling Mod Pursuit Ready Mod is a handling mod to add realism and effectiveness to the Crown Victoria "Vapid" police model. Functionality Tired of the sluggish and unrealistic acceleration of the Crown Victoria "Vapid" cruiser in-game? This mod appends the stock handling of the Crown Victoria to add a higher degree of realism and effectiveness in pursuits. Modifications to the handling data reflects real world data. Affected Values Increased torque, acceleration (CVPI will reach a higher top speed)Reduced gear count to 4 (to reflect real world data)Reduced braking powerAdded a bit of stability control force to simulate stiff suspensionAdded weight -- proportionately heavier than the Charger (should make PIT more realistic) Police "Taurus" Interceptor I also appended the "Taurus" interceptor in a very minor fashion. Torque and acceleration was increased, and the gear count was incremented to 6 from 5 prior. Installation Please see "Read Me" file. This mod replaces the "handling.meta" file in the common.rpf >> data archive. I would appreciate feedback, as well as video coverage of this mod! Your video will be linked to this mod should you post a quality video with this mod. -

Officers from multiple jurisdictions took part in a pursuit that was initiated as a traffic stop in Blaine County. The suspects, who's names have not been released, were in a heavily modified armored Kuruma. After firing at and killing a Los Santos Sheriff Officer and his partner, Blaine County SWAT was dispatched to lead the pursuit. The pursuit started in the Grapeseed area of Blaine County, and continued through Paleto Bay, down Great Ocean Highway, eventually ending in Los Santos near Rockford Hills. Los Santos PD units were immediately notified of the armed bandits and joined the pursuit upon exiting Blaine County. The suspects were eventually boxed in by units, only to be killed after firing again on officers. In total, 34 units took part in this pursuit from the following jurisdictions: - Los Santos County Sheriff - Blaine County SWAT - Los Santos Police Department - San Andreas State Police - NOOSE -

Harlem Shake - LCPD Edition
I see you don't quite like this song. You posted this on my topic at GTA Police Mods as well. Well, no one is forcing you to watch it. I had fun making it, and most people got a good laugh out of it.

Harlem Shake song / video's are the most ............
Everyone is so over-sensitive about this. They're fun to make, and fun to watch. No one is forcing anyone to watch them, so there is no room to complain. I disliked Gangam Style, so I didn't listen to it. Then guess what? It disappeared. I had fun making my LCPD Harlem Shake, and it is meant to be fun.
