  1. Attention beta testers: the MDC site is back up and running. Use your same username and password as before. Thank you again for your patience. Please feel free to PM me with any questions. I'll respond as soon as I can.
  2. Bryon, check your messages. I'll try to get you signed up sometime after 3pm Eastern Time tomorrow when I get off work. If you can, be online on here tomorrow afternoon.
  3. Attention beta testers: with the anticipation of the public release, the MDC site is being upgraded. As a result, you will not be able to log in for approximately the next 24 - 48 hours. Please view the forum for updates or PM me with any questions. Thank you for your patience.
  4. I think it probably has something to do with tradition. Many things in public safety fields (fire, EMS, law enforcement) are based on tradition. I might be wrong, but as a law enforcement officer myself, I can tell you that almost everything we do (at least in my dept.) is deeply rooted in tradition.
  5. As a United States Marine who served two tours of deployment overseas in Operation Iraqi Freedom, I ask all of you to remember America's service members both veteran and retired not just today, but every day. For veterans and servicemen and women, the greatest fear we have is being forgotten. To my brothers and sisters in arms who have made the ultimate sacrifice, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Freedom isn't free. We paid for it. And some of us paid the ultimate price. Semper Fidelis.
  6. As TrooperFlash mentioned above, PM me if you would like to help beta test the system. If I'm not online when you send the PM, don't worry. I will respond ASAP and make sure you get on.
  7. As a law enforcement officer in Ohio, I never expect to come home to my family after each shift. I have been shot at in the line of duty, and I can tell you that it is the worst experience ever. RIP brothers. You are gone but you will never be forgotten.
  8. Lee, Any user who is registered on the MDC system will be able to participate. It will not be limited to only clans. See the PM I sent you for an opportunity you might be interested in regarding the system.
  9. Just tested it out. Works perfectly bro!
  10. Trooper: "This is Eagle. I have confirmation on chickensh*t!"
  11. Awesome work bro! Look forward to testing the report module! Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.
  12. I am a law enforcement officer in Ohio and one of our former officers is the subject of a federal investigation for recording suspects using a personal camera while he was on duty. The answer to your question: there is really no reason for an officer to use his or her personal camera in the line of duty. Most (if not all) PDs have digital cameras in stock at the station for officers to use, should they need to use one. An officer using a personal camera on duty opens the department to a lawsuit waiting to happen.
  13. It went down on me approximately 15-20 minutes ago. I disconnected from the internet on my PC, reconnected to it, and refreshed the page and it seems to be working fine...for now. Probably just jinxed myself though lol
  14. I've been having issues all day today with this site on my computer, as well. I haven't been in-game today, but it does appear that there might be a glitch with the site.
  15. Here is the text from the United States Code Title 18, Section 931. Citation used: www.gpo.gov Title 18 Sec. 931 - Prohibition on purchase, ownership, or possession of body armor by violent felons (a) In general - except as provided in subsection (B), it shall be unlawful for a person to purchase, own or possess body armor, if that person has been convicted of a felony that is: (1) a crime of violence, or (2) an offense under State law that would constitute a crime of violence under paragraph (1) if it occurred within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States (b) Affirmative Defense (1) In general - it shall be an affirmative defense under this section that - (A) the defendant obtained prior written certification from his or her employer that the defendant's purchase, use, or possession of body armor was necessary for the safe performance of lawful business activities AND (2) the use or possession by the defendant were limited to the course of such performance. Citation: www.gpo.gov and United States Code Registry As a law enforcement officer, I can tell you with 100% certainty that, as convicted felon, you should not be in possession of body armor except under the circumstances defined above (i.e., it is DIRECTLY to your employment AND you have WRITTEN certification from your employer). I would encourage you to consult with your attorney regarding this should you have any more questions.
  16. As a law enforcement officer, I have been shot at once so far in the line of duty. Miraculously, none of the bullets that were fired at my partner and I hit their marks that day. Nothing is worse than being in a life and death gunfight with a hardened criminal who has nothing to lose. RIP brother. All gave some, some gave all. As a law enforcement officer, I never go up to a vehicle without my hand on my gun ready to draw it out of the holster.
  17. As a law enforcement officer, I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that your "friend' is not telling you the truth. First of all, a UC will NEVER reveal his identity as a UC unless it is absolutely necessary to identify his/herself as an officer. Nine times out of ten, UC's will let uniformed officers make arrests and civilian contacts. A UC will never pull out his badge or his weapon and show it to a civilian unless there is one heck of a good reason for that civilian to know that the UC is an officer. Second, federal law prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from possessing a firearm. Therefore, if this person is a student and is going around showing people a gun, he is in violation of the law and you have a responsibility to report it. If he is not an LEO and he is going around flashing a badge, he is also committing the crime of impersonation. This could create a huge security and liability concern in the event of a true emergency at the school. I would highly encourage you to report this to your principal or School Resource Officer (if your school has one). If you ask your principal or School Resource Officer to not mention your name, they have a duty and responsibility to NOT do so. You can also ask your parents to contact the appropriate people if you feel uncomfortable doing it yourself. Although I probably don't have jurisdiction where you go to school, I am more than willing to assist you, if you want. Feel free to PM me if needed.
  18. The PR-24...great for scaring and beating LC scum!
