  3. Hi @HughMungus, Did you get any luck with finding the issue? Personally I have not seen this error before I am afraid. I am afraid when I have had issues it is sometimes quicker and easier to get a fresh install (I usually keep a vanilla copy somewhere for this), and start again, Install Rage, test, Install LSPDFR, test, etc etc. And until I get things stable, back up copy at each step so you can roll back. (I have zip files of previous known working versions going back to LSPDFR 0.3, and could probably delete some of the old ones now) First thing to check maybe see if your antivirus is blocking something - I have seen mentions of this around the forums. A quick way to test that would be to turn all antivirus off and try the game. (turn it back on after, as it is important) but that would help rule out anti virus issues. Windows Defender especially likes to block stuff that is OK but let bad stuff through (this is my own opinion and not endorsed). Sorry - not much help but maybe will help get you in the right direction?
  4. Would love to look into something like this but: 1. Still new to mod development so would probably fail miserably 2. Need to complete the current mod I am working on before giving my attention to a new one I think something should be possible as there is a mod called "Clear the Way V" which would help move AI vehicles out of the way better than the native function in the game and another called "Keep calm" that I used to reduce the mass panic when I discharged my firearm. It would be good if Pedestrians on a path stayed on the path within a certain radius of sirens, and if in the road would run across to the path (like when the traffic lights change). Also, for realism - (and from experience) throw in the rare and occasional random ped that will run across in front of you thinking they can make it across the road before you get to them.
  5. Quick update on progress, for anyone following this - I am making (slow) progress on the outstanding issues. Weather: Cannot get with the RPH command, but can set - can get with native functions but struggling to work out native functions in RPH if anyone has any insight into that. Weapons: Again found some promising leads with native functions, thanks to Gmantonz research into this. I found a way to iterate through the weapons and ammo in an inventory, BUT if carrying a lot of weapons it would crash the game - so any experience here people can share would also be a massive help. Have not started on player / outfits yet, so again if anyone wants to help or contribute this could be a good area too? Have found a lot of other vehicle features that could be backed up and restored, (Vehicle Health, Engine Health, Is Engine running, Are doors locked, Radio station, etc) but also want to get balance between functionality and impact on resource to prevent FPS issues or stuttering while a backup is taking place. e.g. Iterating through weapons, I find can cause an in game mini-freeze and if the ped has tons of weapons (e.g. when I use the trainer to give me ALL the weapons) the backup will crash the game. Finally I would like to be able to back up / restore the correct livery if the vehicle had a livery/skin option applied but have not yet looked into if this is possible. I could include in the ini the ability to turn on/off what is being backed up if this script is of use more widely in the community, so if people are interested in using this when finished, please do let me know. Oh, and then once working, I want to optimize, reduce code etc to make as lightweight as possible to again reduce impact on the game itself.
  6. Hi Can anyone who is better at coding help me here? I am trying to get the current weather conditions in my script, but RPH has weather.set enabled, bnt weather.get throws exception "not implemented" so I cannot get the weather. I have found examples using Scripthook.net, but not RPH. I read something about being able to use Rage.Natives, but did not really understand that. Can anyone help? Is it possible? Many thanks in advance.

Hey @gmantonz, Fancy seeing you here So I am wanting to write a plugin, but my idea is way too complicated for a first go and reading what you are asking and watching your streams I thought I could give back by having a go, even if I cant get all that you need, some features may help and if i make the code open source others may jump in and help too. I have a couple of bugs to iron out but hope to be able to share something tomorrow. So far i have: Backup on press of button and automatically (if enabled) Backup to an XML file, so even a full computer reboot will still keep backup available. Could also use it as a return point from a previous session. Restore at push of a button. HoyKeys and auto backup configurable in ini file So far the following is backed up and restored (the easy bits): - current player location - current in game time -current vehicle, if driving or last vehicle (and where you left it) if not. Some DLC vehicles (casino heist) seem to cause game crash so tomorrow I wa.t to error handle that until the actual failure can be fixed, seems to relate to vehicle hashes. Still need to work out How to get current character(I assume this is the LSPDFR char rather than a trainer configured player? How to get the EUP that was in use How to get weapon load out/ ammo How to get weather... can set easily but looks like I cannot get current weather in RPH and may have needed to use script hook instead. If anyone knows how to help with these do reach out as I am really a noob on the molding front and hope this isn't just a pile of junk... Wayne
  9. The declared path was "Plugins/LSPDFR/MyFile.xml" While XML was being created correctly, it could not be read. Spotting the rookie mistake, and reversing my slashes fixed the read error. Now the path reads: "Plugins\\LSPDFR\\MyFile.xml" and the read works as well as write.
  10. OK - this is another stupid question, which I hope somebody can help me with. I am trying to store data in an xml file, to use again after the game is reloaded. I have managed to use xmlWriter to write an xml file to store data Example xml created: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Parent> <Child1>String here</Child1> <Child2>Value here</Child2> </Parent> I am now trying to read that data back into the plugin. I cannot for the life of me get it to work, and hours of googling and trying code all I have managed to do is find new and interesting ways to crash the game. I have tried examples of xmlReader as well as Can anybody help me get the value in Child1 into a string variable for me to use in the plugin?

  12. Hi Here is the first of many stupid questions going to be coming from me trying to write a mod. I have worked out how to use IsKeyDown to recognise when a key is pressed, but also trying to use a modifier key, e.g. Ctrl. I thought something like would work: if (Game.IsKeyDown(BackupKey) && Game.IsKeyDown(BackupModifierKey)) { Do stuff here } But it still fires without the modifier key. Can anyone show me how it should be? I also want to be able to ignore the modifier if set to "None" but haven't got that far yet. Many thanks in advance.
  13. Hi, I cannot take credit for this setup, I cannot remember where I read this, long ago, but this works really well for multiple installs. So this works by using symbolic links: I renamed my "Grand Theft Auto V" folder to "Grand Theft Auto V - Vanilla" I then created a copy of "Grand Theft Auto V - Vanilla" to "Grand Theft Auto - Modded" (Where I then installed Rage / LSPDFR / etc). And again as "Grand Theft Auto - Testbed" (I use this for mod testing or development without affecting my working games) So my folder structure looks something like this: - steamapps - common - Grand Theft Auto V - Vanilla - Grand Theft Auto V - Modded - Grand Theft Auto V - Testbed I then have a batch file with a menu to choose which one I want to use, it then creates symbolic links to the version I want to play at the time. (I also did this for the profile folders, so that I could use different keybindings) I had to use shortcuts in the same folder as the bat file (in common) to "launch" as launching from the command line seemed to fail. My bat file then looks like this: Whenever you want to run the game, use the bat file (I don't use the "Run Game" button in steam as it will fire up whatever was the last one you accessed as RMDIR / MKLINK is what sorts the mappings out before starting the game.

  15. Hey @Talia Kuznetsova, I love Basic Vehicle Actions and have used it for a long time, but after using this script for a bit I have found this one adds more features, with more in the pipeline so I have turned off BVA and use this now. As I no longer needed both.
  16. Frequently asked questions: Haven't you just stolen/ripped off this from Traffic Policer? I don't see the point, Traffic Policer has this feature and still works, so why do this? What about Smart Radio? Your driving sucks! Can you include <x>? Can you also write <x>? If you could write a mod, what would it be?

  18. Hi Nick, This script only gives the custom pullovers feature, if you are no longer using Albo's scripts. If you are using Smart Radio, I believe you will still need Traffic Policer so this script will not help. The radio will still need Traffic Policer to work I believe.
  19. Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, for people who still use Albo's scripts there is no point to using this one. This is more aimed at people who no longer use Traffic Policer, because other mods have replaced it's features and this particular feature was not being fulfilled. There are others who are improving on, and releasing updated versions of Traffic Policer that will likely fulfil your expectations, these can be found via the Traffic Policer Github link in the description. Hope this helps.
  20. Hi - I haven't used Traffic Policer for a while (since doing this for myself) So I don't recall the options F5 bought up. I'll have a look, and play around to see if I can help with this but I am not that great at coding, so may fail miserably.
  21. Hi Thank you for all your feedback. I will try to address a couple of concerns raised here below. Yes, yes it does, but some people are no longer using it due to other mods doing similar things so this is really aimed at them if they miss the custom pullover section of the plugin. Yes, it is Albos script. Sorry if the disclaimer was not clear on that point. This is Albos custom pullover without the need of the rest of traffic policer for those who use other mods instead. I do like the default police cars, personally, although I do use ELS versions of them. Sorry if I mislead you into the idea I can drive. I cannot, in fact I am very bad at it. So bad I thought about having a YouTube channel of just how bad I am at it. Yes, it is. I originally did this just for me with no plans to release it into the wild, but a couple of people asked me for a copy and after checking with Albo (even though it was open sourced I still wanted his blessing before doing it) I decided to share it for anyone else that may find it useful. By all means give this a go and see if it works for you. However, it is Albos code so you may still see the same problem. That said, what is the keybinding you use for the mimic feature? If it is Ctrl + W it could be that as you cancel, the W key gets the car to mimic moving forward slightly. If that is the issue, that will fix it in Traffic Policer as well if you prefer to keep it. If I was that good, I would have a go at writing mods properly. Albo has made all of his plugins open source and people are maintaining them form what I recall... I would check the Github for Police Smart Radio and see if someone has released or forked an updated version. Hey all, I see a lot of forum messages about game crashes at the moment - funnily enough I wanted to check as my load suddenly started crashing with a GTA unexpected error and not much in the log files to help. I thought there may have been a recent update from RockStar maybe I have seen that before with that. So here is what I did to fix. As I have a vanilla install, a mod install and a TestBed install I used the TestBed to try and fix without loosing all my installed plugins / settings and mods I have spent hours and days getting stable. I have not played for a couple of weeks and found there was a new Rage Plugin Hook and ScriptHook recently. But these updates did not fix the crashing. So I wiped my TestBed install (I use TestBed to test mods or my own code without breaking my existing game install of LSPDFR) I then copied GTA 5 vanilla back to the test bed Installed Rage hook and Scripthook (Fired up the TestBed to check it was working) - (OK so far) Copied everything from my mod game to my TestBed game, selecting to not overwrite existing files TestBed worked with all my mods, configs and settings (OK - good) Deleted everything in my mod install, and copied the whole of TestBed back to my mod folder So a couple of hours faff but now back up and running again. Not sure if this will help everyone but, this may be the quickest way to fix the current issue if you can. Don't have a separate install to play with? Rename your current GTA folder and re-download from steam - that way you can do similar without losing all your mods and configs I recommend keeping a vanilla install separate to help with issues like this. I hope this helps, but if someone has an easier / better method I am open to suggestions. One day, when I get time I will share how I switch between different installs - but that is a little complicated with .bat files and switching folders.

Love this mod, especially now with the felony support (always die getting out while being shot at before) Couple of ideas (if possible, but I understand if not): - Would it be possible to have brake lights left on on when stopped? - Would it be possible to have some seatbelt feature? - Some sort of adjustable speed limiter (I can only find these as .net scripts and scripthook.net always crashes my game) I had these in other mods in the past I can no longer find or no longer work.
