  1. Okay thanks mate, Will get him to try that and see if it helps.
  2. Thanks for the response, I will check with him but I believe that he's already re-installed the game as this was happening, and alas it is still happening after the re-install.
  3. You can roll back to the previous drivers from the Device Manager, if not then you'll have to find the previous driver version and google for a download link to the previous driver.
  4. Okay so a mate of mine is having this issue. He seems to get random barriers spawn outside the safehouse or the police station from where you first start the game. He legitimately purchase GTA 4 from Steam and so it's nothing to do with a cracked copy. Appreciate any help here as it's nothing I've ever seen in GTA 4 before. https://www.dropbox.com/s/yg5bwwt6rt79wf6/gtabarrierissue.png Many thanks in advance.
  5. I'm getting this exact same issue, using different models, all i can think of is to uninstall the componentpeds /pedprop models, re-download them and re-install them. A clean install should resolve any corrupt or missing file errors which can cause this issue.
  6. Thanks for the suggestion, will give this a try and let you know how I get on.
  7. Okay, so here's the deal. GTA IV was setup and installed absolutely fine on my new gaming spec PC, it worked fine, I had ELS, LCPDFR and various other modifications installed. Then yesterday night i went to play the game using the normal method of right clicking on "launchgtaiv.exe" and selecting "Run in administrator mode". The game began the loading screen where the theme tune is played, just before the game gives you the menu where you can choose Start, Options, Live, Live Marketplace the window went black and the game CTD'd , (Crashed To Desktop), now i thought this was a normal crash, however when it crashed to desktop there was no error message, it literally just crashed to desktop. I re-installed LCPDFR and went to the local police station to go on duty, no sooner had i chosen a uniform and spawned on duty inside the on/off duty room the game froze completely. I re-tried this multiple times and every single time it froze. I re-tried it today and this keeps happening, on the second to last occasion the game began loading, froze, then crashed to desktop with the error indicating "out of video memory" now this is absolute rubbish. It had previously worked absolutely fine with my graphics card which can easily run GTA on medium settings with 30-40 fps. So I made a clean re-install of GTA IV thinking this would resolve the issue, I re-installed everything, LCPDFR, GTA, the trainer, the policing script. On this occasion instead of going on duty at the police station which seemed to cause the freezes i figured i'd force duty, well that worked, then as soon as i loaded the trainer to spawn a vehicle the whole game froze, not just the trainer, the whole game. So basically i'm now completely clueless as to what I can do to resolve this issue. I made a clean re-install of GTA IV. I re-installed all of the modifications to the game. I'm using a commandline.txt file as attached below. If anyone has any suggestions then i'd be grateful. commandline.txt Thought I'd also attach the diagnostics report.
  8. Hi Everyone I've recently ordered this New PC after playing LCPDFR at about 10-15fps on my laptop. Finally after years of hoping and a few weeks of asking i've ordered it. I was hoping to be able to run GTA IV with LCPDFR running at medium specs with no screen recording and get about 30-40 fps. I was also wondering if i would be able to turn the specs down to almost their lowest settings (which i'm used to) and use Fraps to screen record and still get approximately 20-30 fps, not running the game in full 1080p. Here's the specs: AMD FX-4100 Quad Core CPU @ 3.6 GHz 8GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM 500GB SATA 7200 RPM HDD nVidia GT640 2GB DDR3 Video card Micro ATX Branded 500Watt PSU (I'm aware this doesn't really make much of a difference) Windows 8 OS (Again, no real difference) If it can't do the above, can anyone suggest a decent Video card upgrade, within the say £100 mark ? Thanks in advance. Btw PC's not being delivered until Thursday (with today being Sunday) then i have to get a desk to put it on..
  9. This happens to me every so often, re-installing LCPDFR works for me.
  10. Hah! Made me laugh. +1 for asuna.
  11. I've had this problem before, and it just happened again. I don't know what's causing it but there's a simple fix which works every time. Just re-install LCPDFR.
  12. Yes, in the folder, xlive.dll is the first file i see. --- EDIT -- I think the problem may be that i have created an offline games for windows live account, because i had to to save the game. And at the time i was focused on getting single player to work because i just wanted to play LCPDFR, should this affect the menu not loading when i hit the home button.
  13. Hitting the "home" button does nothing. I am in game and hitting the home key. Any suggestions?
  14. So i have a free xbox live account, and a windows live ID. When i try to play mutiplayer on GTA IV the game tells me i need to connect to Games for windows live, but everytime i download the application, and run it, it runs Games for windows live marketplace. And in games for windows live marketplace i'm signed in ? So i assume Games for windows - live and games for windows live - market place are the same application? and how do i get to connect to Games for windows live so i can play GTA 4 online ? Thanks in advance. How do i log into GFWL when i'm in GTA 4?
  15. Because it relates to LCPDFR ? Sorry, did not see that.
  16. Currently i'm running LCPDFR on a Dell M5030 with an Upgraded CPU, dual core processor at 2.1GHZ & 3GB DDR3 RAM + 256MB Dedicated video memory (the minimum). I was debating whether to buy a new laptop / desktop, preferably laptop or upgrade the CPU in mine again, i was hoping to install an AMD Phenom 970 Quad core processor at 2.2GHZ. My only concern with this is that the processor exceeds the TDW of my motherboard, which is 25W. The processor has 35W. I don't particularly fancy frying my motherboard and don't really want an external cooling fan as this is a laptop. would this be okay ? The socket type is S1G4 and this matches with the new processor. Alternatively i was considering buying a new laptop/desktop but my top budget is about £500. I was hoping for something like an intel i5 for this kind of money, but i'm doubtful i'll get an i5 laptop with decent graphics for £500. So really, i'm asking for an opinion, to buy a new machine, as this only has 256mb of dedicated video ram and runs GTA LCPDFR on lowest settings at an average of about 12-14 FPS. Or buy a new machine with more than 256mb dedicated vram and a faster processor ? One final question, if i want to increase my frame rates, which is more important ? CPU speed or the amount of dedicated video ram? You can also post your laptop / desktop specs here with the model name and number for me to take a look at. Thanks in advance and sorry this is long winded. If i've posted this in the wrong section, i do apologise.
  17. You could try reducing the graphics settings as slow loading textures may be causing this problem. By reducing the demand on the CPU and GPU the textures should load more quickly, and hopefully this will prevent this issue. To lower the settings, whilst in-game, go to the menu, by pressing "ESC" / escape key. Then go to "options" and then adjust the settings to use less MB resources. Hope this helps in some way. good luck
  18. Cheers You say numpad ? My laptop doesn't have a numpad, let's hope i don't have to use the on-screen keyboard
  19. Got it to open in game, now i can't figure out how to navigate the menu, although i did look briefly... Using the up/down/left/right arrows does nothing.
  20. The simple native trainer is what i was thinking of, however it didn't come with any installation instructions.... i got it here http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-iv/script-mods/2115 I assume the scripthook.dll, trainer.asi and trainer.ini all go into the "GTA IV" folder ? Or are they suppose to be placed in the "scripts" folder ? Many thanks.
  21. What happened to the menu, the menu which had all the car options, such as change colour, respawn, etc ? Did that get removed? If not, what are the controls to open the menu ? On another note, i thought you opened the boot of your car in-game to re-fill your ammunition ? Whenever i open the trunk, there are no options displayed (not sure if any are supposed to be displayed) and then closing it, nothing happens, the ammunition is never re-stocked. Thank you for all your answers in advance.
  22. That is true, but it is available to download on the LCPDFR forum, and so i assume someone here probably uses it ?
