@JClem , you are going to need to change the colors via the carcols. Look in the carvariations and see what siren setting it is using. Once you find that, you can change the color in each siren entry.  Look for the entry called color value.

For blue change the Hex to 0xFF0000FF

There's lots of different entries with color value. Which section is it under? I edited the ones under "police/sheriff" and now it shows up as LED env lighting and the pods don't spin. I also couldn't find a siren settings 13 section in the carcols. It's my first time editing a carcols file, sorry if I'm asking stupid questions :/

Edit: I appear to have found the sirensettings section (id value="13") but the same result happened; steady burn, forward facing pods with LED env lighting

I'm looking to have an all-blue rotary light bar setup for my BCSO fleet. I've got everything down except ELS's environmental (env) lighting; that remains red and blue no matter what I do. I've changed the colors in the .xml files for the cars to all blue, and nothing changed with the env lighting. Is it possible to somehow change ELS's rotary env lighting to all blue? If so, how?

It's worth stating that I'm using RobertTM's Las Vegas Metro PD-inspired pack, which includes carvariations and carcols files.

    Thanks for your time.

I'm a bit baffled with how this C&D was even taken seriously to begin with. It's unfounded, based on no laws, and is ONLY referring to GTA V's user license agreement.

It was taken seriously because the legal representative in Russia for T2, a multi-billion dollar company, delivered it in the proper legal fashion. Modding is not illegal; it never was and still isn't. OpenIV was technically in violation of the EULA for GTA V however, and T2 had every right to shut down OpenIV despite it being a total dick move. You also didn't take into account Russian laws, which I'll readily admit I'm not familiar with myself. But if the C&D order was truly based on no laws and was unfounded, I'm fairly certain that this thread wouldn't exist and OpenIV would be running and downloadable as normal.

Here is an idea, we'll stop buying their games from now on and they will come to use begging for redemption and we will tell them what they can do. Give us our modding abilities back, and if they say no then we tell them to go back to hell and if they give in, then we can tell people to buy games made by Rockstar Games. If everyone went this route, they will either give in or go bankrupt.

You seem to be forgetting the console gamers that buy the games and can't do mods like we can (PC Master Race ftw). Also, your situation would require T2 to actually give a shit about their player base and to rescind a decision they made previously; neither of those have a record with T2 to my knowledge.

At this point, best we can do is hurry up and wait, continue contacting T2 with as polite of a manner as we can manage given the circumstances, and take whatever steps we can to hurt their sales. Steam reviews, signing the petition, spreading awareness about the situation, etc.  Just try and take the high road if you can; if a bunch of us are leaving vulgar messages all over the place, it'll give the modding community a bad PR image.

Also, what's the deal with scripthook and scripthookV? That get abandoned too?

ScriptHookV is still waiting for an update; it usually takes a while after a R* update for a ScriptHookV update anyway, so it's pretty much hurry up and wait at this point. Unless stated otherwise by Alexander Blade, that's the situation regarding that. As far as ScriptHookV.net, I would assume it's the same thing regarding that.

I have been experiencing intermittent anxiety, distress, and emotional angst  over T2 illegal infringements of my rights

T2 is doing nothing illegal by doing this; it's a dick move to be sure, but it's perfectly within their legal boundaries to do so. Your rights are not being infringed upon either.

A better legal argument would be that T2 is infringing upon education (however informal it may be), because personally I knew practically nothing about policing when I started playing LSPDFR. After playing for roughly a year and a half, I know how a ton of stuff works; MDTs, ALPRs, I can identify lightbars at a glance for the most part, I've learned a ton about flash patterns and how important they are, a bit of report writing, tactics, procedures, I've learned ten codes, as well as just code itself (code 2, code 3, code 6, etc.) Plus, I've learned a bit of computer handiwork on the side from editing things like Custom Backup and other various meta files and things like that.

Apart from the computer stuff, what I've learned through playing and watching LSPDFR on YouTube will make my life that much easier in the future when I become a cop. I had plans to introduce LSPDFR into my campus' Criminal Justice curriculum for future officers to mess around with, and T2 is stifling that to the best of their ability because their leadership wants to use $100 bills for toilet paper. And that, more than anything else about this whole debacle, is what really pisses me off.

  7. Hey guys, I'm really not sure where to put this so my apologies if it's in the wrong section, but I figured this could fall under "Current Events"...

I went to open up OpenIV and I saw this. This is the link that it took me to. Has anybody else gotten this? Really hoping it's some sort of prank or something, because I'm going to be devastated if LSPDFR comes to a halt because of this.

If there's anybody out there who would be willing to make a ped for the Delaware State Police, I would be very thankful. Recently, a Trooper was killed in the line of duty and I think it would be a nice way to remember him by having his car, lights on, with his fellow Troopers standing guard around it. If there's anybody who would be willing to do a thorough job making a Trooper ped for me, then I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you.

Edit: I found what I was looking for, but I don't know how to remove this post or if I even can.

  9. I have a bit of an annoying problem. I installed an add-on car in Albo's Modding DLC folder within my own mods folder, and every time I go to spawn the car in-game, it crashes the game or tells me that the model is invalid when I know for a fact I'm spelling the name correctly. I copied the vehicles.meta entry for the Park Ranger and renamed the <modelName> and <txdName> entries properly. I can spawn other add-on vehicles, but the game crashes every time I try to spawn this particular one. Am I missing something?

  10. I've been looking around for an answer to this but I can't seem to find one. You know what you're talking about, so here I am.

There are some cars that allow you to create custom license plates, but when I do that they hardly ever show up in game. BxBugs' CVPI for example, I put the plates on the template as normal and it shows up in OIV, and works just fine in game. However, some cars I'll put the plate on the template and it either won't show up in OIV or the game, or will only show up in OIV but not the game. Is it something to do with a .meta file or something?

  11. I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out what's wrong here. My game was always crashing or loading infinitely before, so I took all of the files out of my root directory until I had a vanilla game install, and then slowly added back files. I've determined that the cause of my crashes is the modded update rpf. I  updated the two necessary files from the previous update (or the one before that, I can't remember) and it still doesn't work. I have no clue what could be causing this crash, and due to the fact that I have RDE installed, I'm really not trying to rebuild my LSPDFR from the ground up again. Can anybody help me out?

    Here's the log:

    Crash report.txt

  12. I moved those files over as well, no difference. Game still doesn't work, I've tried everything except reinstalling everything again. Since I basically just rebuilt my LSPDFR setup, I really don't want to do it a third time if I can help it. Any ideas as to what I can do?
