  1. Do you have a current generation Nvidia Geforce GPU? GTX 6 and GTX 7 series have built-in hardware-based HD video recording and encoding called ShadowPlay that comes with the latest drivers. No performance drop, real-time hardware-encoding to MP4 H.264, and an option to always record your mic/headset or PTT. I use it to record my videos, 1080P, and since it's hardware based directly from the graphics card, with no performance drop at all. Since it encodes to H.264 in real time, your videos take up much less space than the uncompressed ginormous videos from FRAPS or other software-based recording programs. Plus you save time because you don't have to then compress those huge files into H.264 afterwards anyway. And since it's from the graphics card directly, you can record anything you see on screen, including your desktop, your applications, or whatever. I know this sounds like an advertisement, but it seems not many people know about ShadowPlay and that they already have a near-perfect recording solution just sitting there while they use FRAPS or Bandicam. Just trying to spread the word =)

  4. "sixium" is just one of the few names I use on forums and the like > It's a fictional element (six + "ium" suffix) based upon the acronym (SIX) of my main identity "sakuraix" > Which comes from two elements: 1) I like cherry blossoms, and "sakura" is cherry blossom in Japanese, and 2) I like the number 9, and IX is 9 in roman numerals; hence, "SakuraIX" which shortened, is SIX. six and sixium are variants.

  11. Thanks! I jumped for joy when I made it work, because I really wanted a siren like this too for all the classic cars. When I initially did it, I ran into the same problems as sc2142 and Reibu did. The long wail messed up all the rest of the tones, and the wail was popping. To fix the popping, I had to shorten the wail by about 10ms (negligible, only 0.01 seconds), and if you listen REALLY carefully, the pop is still in there somewhere lol. The sampling rate reduction was just a brute force ditch effort in hoping the issue was with the sound sample's filesize instead of length. And it worked! I released it since it wouldn't let me attach anything to this post besides images. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> /

Vintage Whelen Engineering WS-224 Siren Pack Vintage Whelen WS-224 Siren tones, great for classic police cars such as Kinksta's LAPD and CHP Caprices and Ford LTDs! Features extra long wail, yelp, hi-lo, and airhorn. Alt-2 tone (if using ELSv7+) is just the airhorn again. I tried to get the yelp to activate the same way the real-life WS-224 yelp does; it kinda activates in the middle of the yelp instead of the beginning. The wail and hi-lo are recorded at a lower sampling rate (22000Hz) to keep the size of HORNS.ivaud in check. Otherwise, this will not work due to the wail's extreme length. The quality is slightly lower, but still decent. Gives it a "vintage" feel lol =D Credit goes to Ringo4493 for the idea and the source audio =) Here are the tones and how they're assigned: SIREN 1 - Wail (22000Hz) SIREN 2 - Yelp (44100Hz) POLICE WARNING (ELS Alt-1) - Hi-lo (22000Hz) AMBULANCE WARNING (ELS Alt-2) - Airhorn (at 44100Hz) Airhorn - Airhorn (at 16000Hz) This pack includes: - Modified HORNS.ivaud - Readme Here is a short video of the siren: (Model by kinksta) Enjoy! And please let me know what you think =)
  12. I was able to do it. I had to reduce the sampling frequency of the wail and hi-lo to keep the size of HORNS.ivaud in check, so the wail's and hi-lo's quality are not "100%" but it's decent. It's the only way I could get it to work, the wail is 8 seconds long. Over 1.5 times the length of modern wails at around ~5 seconds. I don't know how to attach the HORNS.ivaud, so I'll just release it tomorrow when I get a chance. I made a quick video to show you how it works, I tried to get the Yelp to activate how it does on the real-life WS-224; it doesn't activate at the beginning, it sorta activates in the middle of the yelp.
