I like them... and think they're actually a great idea considering the Victorian sheriff's office actually do stuff. Went through a Sheriff's checkpoint when I was down in Victoria last year, had an ANPR camera, 4-5 Sheriff's and a couple of cops, checking for fines and stuff. I imagine the cops were only there for the powers to stop vehicles for the checks or deal with any warrants/offences. I'm curious - do the DOJ/Sheriff vehicles have red and blue or amber lights? Never seen them lit up and I don't know the legislation or how far their powers go, but I imagine given how many of them there are and how... 'zealous' they seem to be, they have authority to stop vehicles for DOJ related stuff (warrants, fines enforcement, etc?) I look forward to it! Hopefully not too far away! =P

Released/updated my NSW uniforms so they're now compatible with the new EUP. Includes male and female sheriff and cop uniforms and EUP ones. General duties only for now, will add the specialist stuff in when I get around to it. Actually, I really don't know, I may've left it in. I just copied stuff out of my files from OpenIV so it could be a gamble what you get but there's definitely NSW shirts for everyone. Traffic vest is definitely there as well, rain coat may or may not be... if it is, it hasn't been updated; the shirts about as close to perfect as I'll get them I think. I'll get Victorian ones up within a day or two of those sexy Victorian cars Mac posted pics of coming out. Other states over the next week or two or as vehicles appropriate to the state come out. ;)

Be very careful taking photos of police/police cars, especially in todays terrorism climate. Recently a bloke was seen taking photos of the cars out the back of City Police Station here in Canberra and ended up in hot water because of concerns he was trying to take pictures of members coming and going from the station. There was also a new story recently - just spent 10 minutes looking but can't find it again - about a guy getting slapped with a fine for using his phone while driving because he took a photo of the VICPol Merecedes while stopped at lights or some such. Pretty hefty fine down there these days. Might be easier/safer to google it up, there are heaps of pics.

If it crashes before loading, it's probably an issue with one of the XML files If it started after editting things (installing a car, mod, etc.) then it'll be related to the file you changed putting things in. If it started after the patch, then it'll be something not updated correctly (I had issues a few months back because the new update.rpf hadn't been copied over to my mods folder yet) If you're able to play for a while and then it crashes, I suspect it's related to memory or something to do with your computer not coping with the game (high poly cars, graphics, not enough RAM, etc.)

Yeah. I only crashes I've ever had are when I balls up a .meta file. Otherwise perfect FPS, great graphics, everything. Moose had a sprinter that's in the works. Any updates on the Vic GD cars? >_>

Likewise. If my game stops working or crashes I spend an hour or so troubleshooting, if that fails, I just don't play until the next big update/patch or something. The amount of issues some people on here seem to have just astounds me.

The new rotator lights are some of the brightest and most awesome I've seen. I love them. ACT went to little LED bars but seems to have gone back to the rotators. Also, whoever was asking, no, VICPol don't use iLoads which is fantastic cause I can't stand the vans (VW, iLoad, etc). Ugly as and horrible to drive and use. The utes with the pods are nice and the VICPol cages are just sexy... more practical too!

GTA V Response Videos & LSPDFR Patrol Videos - Another Aussie
G'day everyone, Been lurking for a long time but recently became quite a bit more active on the Aussie thread and over the last few months I've been stockpiling videos that I've smashed out this last week... and you can probably expect a few more over the coming weeks as I catch up on the post-production stuff (look at me, using movie talk!). I do have my fingers in all the pies around here as well, with those of you that trawl the back pages of the scripting showroom forum probably seeing a very old thread where I've been working on a callout pack - yes, that's still in the works however I've recently farmed it out to a friend who will be doing all the hard part (scripting) and I'll just be feeding him the actual 'storylines' to the callouts. I'll update the thread as soon as I actually have something valuable to share and we'll keep this one for the response and patrol videos! So, with the intro out of the way, I do two types of GTA 5 videos - one is a response video, which consists of audio from actual emergency calls and me coordinating a response. These are very time consuming and involve setting up scenes, recording, re-recording and often re-re-recording the responses so I can mash it all together in a montage style response. Then I sit and think up music for the intro and close, do some research into the incident (where needed) to give a result aaand smash the audio in there. They're unique; I don't think I've actually seen anyone else do them and as much hard work as it is getting them together, I am actually really proud of the result in most cases. I did quite a few for GTA IV and I kicked off the GTA V ones with my absolute favorite to date, response to a kid who screwed up a bike jump: (be mindful that these do contain actual audio from emergency calls. The warning on the video is not just for show, it can be distressing) More recently, I've managed to get another one made, the response to a party-goer who got stoned/drunk and fell off a cliff: I do plan to get more done in the near future and I'll try edit this post, otherwise I'll whack them in new posts at the end, or both! If you liked these, I also did a number of them for GTA IV so check out my channel for them and remember - at the time - they were so much more impressive because I actually shut the game down, loaded new sirens, restarted the game, reset the scene as best I could and everything just to get some authenticity in the responses (different vehicles having different sirens and all)... which is moot now because of the amazing stuff we can do in GTA V. I've also learnt to edit the audio a lot better so I've 'remastered' the calls, moving the call audio around to fit the response better and in the case of the newest one, gave the operator a few totally new lines of dialogue that you probably won't even are chunks cut from the other dialogue and put together again. Moving on from the response videos, I've also started doing - and really enjoying - LSPDFR patrol videos. Everyone seems to be doing these and there's a ton of other Aussie's doing them too (we're starting to outnumber the American ones!), so I can't say how long they'll last, especially with my work schedule keeping me from releasing on a regular basis, but I figure I'll show them off just the same. I think I do them a bit different to everyone else, mostly because I don't have enough of an attention span to just stay 'in character', so it's very arcade-y. Either way, I hope you like them, if not, I do have an idea of what I want to replace these with and it's another unique one. I'll check out its feasability before I say too much about it but if you have a watch of the more recent patrol videos, I chat about it a bit. Without further ado, LSPDFR Patrol videos are below!

I was thinking having a script or something that changes the dispatcher voice by time of day or something. Not sure. Maybe a later down the track thing. I know here in Canberra there are two radio operators on each channel at any one time. When it's busy they do swap on the fly. Either way, one would be fine for now... I'm able to edit the audio to give it that tinny sort of sound effect I think. I'll play in the morning and see if I can do it how I'm thinking. May also know someone that'll be happy to do the recordings for a carton haha.

Yeah. If it were up to me the dispatcher would change infrequently to reflect shift changes etc and as many NPC cops as possible would be different. I might look at it over Christmas when I have some time off.

Just think, if I went and recorded new audio we could use the proper (NATO) phonetic alphabet... and record a few local place names for callsigns...

I don't but watching the video just now makes me wanna go hire a couple of voice actors and redo all the audio... I did t really like the altered pitch.

I don't think I've noticed any more than usual... hard to know though, I've only really been playing an hour or two a month for the last few months and even then I'm usually testing dodgy coding that I'm trying to do or installing and playing with something new... or making YouTube stuff so it's always pretty unstable.

I swore by it until I discovered Menyoo. It's awesome, but have ended up using both. Menyoo for setting up scenes for recording, SNT for quick/easy vehicle spawning and the likes.

I'm particular and only use my own skins =\ dunno why, it's just a weird quirk. Even if mine aren't as good I'll use them over others. >_> Same with vehicles but that's more cause I use my own retarded brand of callsigns - regardless of the state, it'll have a WAPol callsign - nostalgia from my days in the job over there, I guess. Maybe you got lucky... or I got unlucky - I suppose you only ever hear the bad stories. =p

Wouldn't get a VE. Had one for about 3 years, driving home from work one day, check engine light came on. Gave me about... 600m then the engine died. Heard of it happening a few times, apparently they just don't go like they used to. (the old Holden taxi engine) Got a Toyota Kluger now and I've done about 250,000km since 2010 and it's going like a pro. I dunno, they were the only pictures I could find from an angle that shows the lip thing going on without looking too hard...trying to make new NSWPol uniforms on the other screen and avoid going to bed... you guys keep being distracting.

Down syndrome car? Can't go past the old Mitsubishi with the overhang at the top of the grill. For the longest time my wife would scowl at me or punch me when we drove past one because I'd comment on it.
