It'd be good if it came out, supported modding and didn't sucked. Last good police game I've seen was True Crime: NY (which had lots of potential for police mods, btw, don't know if that was ever a thing with it though)
Ok, I just checked out their latest devdiary on youtube, and it looks great. Apparently there's PAPERWORK (seriously, I want paperwork!)

    Hello all,

As an avid roleplayer (and i'm sure i'm not the only one), I often wonder about how to enhance my LSPDFR experience, and I've decided to experiment with writing reports. Does anyone have any samples of police paperwork (incident reports and whatnot) so that i can find out what information i need to collect? I might also turn this into a larger project, if there is community interest, like having a central reporting system up on the web where other players can also send up their reports, which then are displayed in a "Police Blotter Format", maybe even with a crime map.
Hell, maybe we even find a way of injecting this into LSPDFR (I now i'm aiming way up high now) so that we can somehow sync the information on the peds and on the database. For instance, say a player stopped a guy in sandy shores, but he took off. You submit the report to the site and resume your patrol. Then the next day someone stops him in Los Santos and the police computer tells the guy he has a warrant out in Blaine County for obstruction by fleeing. Would be great wouldn't it?

Actually, as a matter of fact, I think I will do this, even if at first the "warrants" don't show up on the police computer itself.

Anyone has any thoughts on the idea or source material i can use to base this off of?

Oh crap, now I'm picturing this whole web based dispatch system... halp

Oh, ok. I was under the impression that the names weren't randomly generated by combining a random first name to a random last name (props to the LSPDFR team for that!), but rather fetched from an internal database.
You are right in that it makes the whole thing a little pointless if the chances of player A running into the same person as player B are that slim.
In all honesty, I might have underestimated the resources needed to pull this off, in fact, I probably did, since I haven't really thought about that yet. As of now this is pretty much just an idea for a pet project. I do have an ok VPS sitting idle right now that I'd use to host the online side of the application, but yeah, I agree that it might not be enough, especially if it picks up.

    Thanks for your input!

My concern with your flow is:
There are so many different possible combinations for the names, that entering information and reports via the application outside of the game would take a long, long time before anything actually shows in game because the chances of you encountering the same name twice is very slim. You could always mass produce the data, but even then, I'm not sure how many potential combinations there are for the names.
I'd also be concerned about the resources needed to run an application like this. There'd be a bit of querying involved and if the plugin picks up traction it could become quite expensive and time consuming to maintain.

Nope. ID checks and information are generated on the fly. Warrants and criminal history are not stored and cannot be pulled from the database. You can simply generate the DOB and names.

Yes actually it probably would, but in the long run it'd so much of a pain in the ass that it wouldnt be worth while. Also welcome to the community! :)

Check on amazon for police notebooks.  They have a couple good examples of what you need to record.
The fastest and cheapest way I have found is a simple 4 x 6 cheap flip notepad.  date, time, location, incident notes, names, dob, descriptions, vehicle description and plates.  etc.  and a final summary of what you did and saw.

Check your local police departments online report lookup, some of them might be digital as in typed in while in the police car.

Or check out this to give you an idea of what to look for:
http://online.akronohio.gov/apdonline/reportlookup/EULA.aspx?referrer=ReportLookup (group of reports/last 30 days/all locations) then just click on any random report on the results page.
