Great, thank you! Random is good enough for me
-
Hey. I could swear that recently I have seen a youtuber forcing new callouts to get the one he wanted. Did I imagine this and if this is possible how do you do this? Thanks in advance!
-
I may sound rude but it is just that the first attempts at these scenarios while simplistic were actually worth our time. I've got another hit and run callout. This is the search area after a few minutes of driving around: How are we supposed to find a car when the radius is so huge? It is just pure luck (I managed to find it the first time I got that scenario just when I was about to cancel the callout). Remember that we are alone, we can't call other units to assist us in the search so it's just luck, nothing else. It is not like we can call an helicopter to help cover another part of the region or something. And this is the radius after a while: The problem is that while your first attempts were too simple, here you went for the extreme opposite and made this nearly impossible and simply frustrating. You just went too far, the suspect doesn't need to go so far away but should remain in the original search area. As I said in my previous post, this is still a game, things have to remain fun. And at this point, I am sorry for being rude but this is just 2 callouts out of 6 that I won't respond to anymore. I know that someone is going to say that suspects get away, cops don't always catch them. Which I respond to by repeating: this a game. When things get too frustrating "players" (not cops but players, because once again this is a game) don't bother anymore. [Edit] So by forcing new callouts I've been playing around some more with this scenario. The problem is that there is actually a very easy way out: the vehicle is still at the scene when you arrive (well it's possible that it was the case because I was waiting not far away from that spawn location in Senora desert so I was quickly on scene). So if you completely ignore the victim (I've seen the latest video from Jeff Favignano and he actually had the same reaction as me, calling a coroner to pick up the corpse and waiting for their arrival) there is no search needed at all. If I were you, here is how I would deal with this callout: set up a reasonable search radius (not too small, not too large) whose size won't expand (the size in the first screenshot wouldn't be that bad if the suspect couldn't leave it) have the suspect spawn somewhere within this circle but not on scene of the accident in order to avoid the easy solution where the car is actually bumping into the ambulance (happened to me twice) have the suspect drive within that set radius (we don't want the suspect waiting for us either)

I like most of the changes except that one callout. "Unknown trouble": I arrived at the scene and I was told to investigate the area... except that there is absolutely no clue what we are looking for. For instance your upgraded "hit and run" scenario (which is cool) not only has a radius for your search but you also have a description of the vehicle. Here you have no idea where to look and what to look for, you don't know if you are looking for someone, for a car, there is no dot, no radius on the map, this is way too vague and honestly I won't bother and I will just Ctrl+Y this scenario in the future. A radius for the search would be the minimum so that we know we are going too far away. Realism is nice (though I am sure that if it was a real situation we would have more details about the trouble) but this is also a game, hints are needed to keep things fun.

People just don't get it. I can freaking do the difference between the normal behaviour (siren going on, police chasing a car within a few seconds and shootout) and the one in LSDPFR (police chasing no one). Just watch the 2 videos in the post from July 28.

LSPDFR needs more jails, OR prisoner transport
DLM3 replied to shadow3467's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
It pretty much depends on who arrested him. If another cop did the arrest you are dependent on the good will of the mod, most of the time there is a vehicle that is going to pick up the suspect with no need to call for a Code 2. Just wait a little and eventually a vehicle will show up. If nobody comes to take the suspect nothing will work, even calling a Code 2 backup... the cops will just hang around and won't care about the prisoner. On the other hand if you did the arrest, since you can interact with the suspect you have many choices, you can take him/her to your car or if you have no car or it is already full, you are free to call a Code 2 backup unit then walk your prisoner to their car and they will take him/her. -
I have a new information. I have followed another car that kept going with its siren on for maybe 10-15 minutes. It kept crashing into various things and eventually the engine started to be damaged, with a little help push from my part it finally crashed into a wall and the engine burst into flames. The officers left the car warning that it was going to blow... and guess who also left the car: a suspect that I could swear I had arrested earlier. It was a serious callout where I ended arresting 3 people so I had to call a Code 2 backup in order to detain the 3rd person and I am 99% confident that it was the same suspect. So could it be that these cars that keep chasing invisible people are indeed leftovers from earlier backups that don't despawn and just wander aimlessly with their siren on? That would explain why there are more of these cars the longer you play. I will also add that it wasn't happening in 0.1 because I was still taking part in these random pursuits and they always ended with a shoot-out. I will give it a look, thanks.

Well I ran my tests and random pursuits in (unmodded) single player still work fine. The three that I have witnessed each ended with a shoot-out and a couple of these pursuits started really quickly after the police unit put on their siren (within 10 seconds), the third one took more time to reach the vehicle and the chase then actually lasted a little longer before they managed to block the vehicle. On the other hand, I have launched LSPDFR alone, with no other mods, no additional callouts and only one of the many pursuits that I have recorded actually resulted in a real chase (which also ended with a shoot-out), all the other pursuits were just cops chasing their tail, either bailing out quickly or driving around for some time for nothing. The most extreme cases that I have mentioned in my previous posts (pursuits during several minutes) were either due to other mods aggravating the issue or extensive play. I have noticed that the 2 cars that were involved in these fruitless pursuits had the same number (29 and 76), so I wonder if they are not leftover of previous backups that I called. Thus the longer you play, the more you call backups and the more you have of these cars that don't really know how to follow the script used for these random chases? I'm editing the video and will upload it shortly. [Edit] Here's the random pursuits happening in Story Mode, with no mod at all. Police go straight for a car followed by a shoot-out. Here's a compilation of random pursuits happening in LSPDFR (with no other mod): a little biased as I haven't added the one real chase that ended with a shoot-out (I had already deleted the video) but all the other "pursuits" involved no suspect at all. Please spare me the comments about the PS2 graphics! I had to tone things down to maintain some fluidity while running Fraps.

Add back pursuit menu/more in interaction menu
DLM3 replied to Sonny236's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
That's what I guessed but well we have a "kifflom" to ask for ID You do realize that some people enjoy RPing? (I mean look at Jeff Favignano LSPDFR videos for instance) Anything that adds RP value is welcome. -
I think you missed what I was saying. Pursuits always happen, that's not the issue. What am I saying is that they are chasing no one, usually when one of these pursuits starts they just ram into a vehicle within a few seconds and chase it, this is not what I am seeing anymore. I followed a couple of them for 5+ minutes and they never chase a car, they just drive around all lights and siren on aimlessley. That's why I said that at one point all you hear is a siren constanly going on. Usually they quickly catch up on their suspect and the pursuit quickly ends. Not anymore, they will just go around forever with their siren on. To put it simply the siren that I keep hearing is the same vehicle(s) that go around forever chasing no one. I am aware that they are not part of LSPDFR, this is my OP : "I mean these pursuits that happen in story mode whether you have LSPDFR or not". I am not saying that this LSPDFR at fault, that's why I was asking if anyone noticed the same thing, I was asking if this is the base game that is broken after a recent patch or if this is due to the mod. I'll run a few tests, playing story mode, then LSPDFR alone then adding other mods to see if I can pinpoint where this is coming from.

Add back pursuit menu/more in interaction menu

It wasn't a complaint, just a suggestion... There is a difference between "I won't be so nice next time, you dirtbag" and "Thanks for your time, have a nice day". -
Add back pursuit menu/more in interaction menu
DLM3 replied to Sonny236's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
The pullover menu definitely needs an additional option. Currently we have : ask for IDissue citationissue warningask to leave vehicle It is missing the option to simply let the person go without warning him/her which is sometimes rather insulting. An example: I pulled over a vehicle for running a red light. I checked the ID of the woman (using the LSPDFR computer not PoliceRadio mod) and it told me that it was an off-duty cop who had to be treated accordingly. My only option was basically warning her instead of just letting her go. -
how to get health and weapons without additional mods
DLM3 replied to m3dicjay's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
Just a heads-up, when you spawn a vehicle this one will disappear if you wander too far away unlike the car that you get when going on duty. Not an issue since you can just spawn another one but personally I prefer keeping the same one -
I mean these pursuits that happen in story mode whether you have LSPDFR or not, when a police car suddenly starts chasing a vehicle. Recently I noticed that they still happen but cops chase their tail, I have followed a couple of them and they actually are chasing absolutely no one, they just drive around the city lights and siren on without going for someone and it goes on forever. Actually at one point, I always hear a siren constantly, which becomes quickly annoying. I am not sure if this the game that broke this, if this is due to LSPDFR or another mod (I mostly have additional callout packs). Anyone else noticed the same thing?

I don't see how it can be my browser... when 3 different browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE) give pretty much the same result: impossible to download the files. Besides I know that there is an issue where some files are tagged as being malicious — I ran into this issue as well — but I know how to deal with this and still get the file despite the warning, I can see the difference between this and what is happening here, the fact that it is simply impossible to get a file, for instance Firefox does nothing at all after the security check, I don't even get a warning about the file being potentially dangerous. I don't see how it can be my browser when many people are running into the same issue, with various browsers. What do you think is more plausible? That the website has an issue with how it processes security checks and enables downloads or that we all are technically challenged and have no idea how to download a file?
-
I am also running in the same issue with pull overs though I found a workaround, if you can't blip a vehicle instead of standing right behind it move your car slightly to the left, like almost on the left lane and it usually works. It seems that after a while the function that tags vehicles slightly moves so you have to move your car accordingly. Try calling in a Code 2 backup, most often the officers will get out of the car and "pick the suspect" by themselves (it's more like the suspect gets up and follows them). If they don't you can also open the back door of their car (when they are out) and the suspect will walk to the car. And if he doesn't, enter the car and the suspect is likely to warp inside, then get out and let the officers leave with the suspect. If nothing works, just kill him silently when no one is looking
-
The moderators will just tell you that this is your browser at fault, that there's nothing they can do and will just close the thread to keep the issue under the rug. It is pretty obvious that there is lately an issue with downloads and this is not on our end. Example: yesterday I tried to download LSPDFR 0.2a with no chance, Firefox wasn't downloading anything and Chrome was downloading a file with a 0 byte size. The website started to be slow and all (DDoS attack?) and when it was available again then I had been able to download the file. Why would my browser refuse to download a file and then suddenly do it although I haven't changed a thing? I am running in the same issue with another mod today: after doing the security check and hitting the Submit button Firefox does nothing while Chrome downloads an empty file. And please stop telling me that this is my browser.
-
I already had issues with 0.2 but I managed to deal with it by forcing the browser to download it despite the warning but I just can't get 0.2a at all. Firefox has no reaction. I go through the security check, I hit the Submit button and nothing happens. Absolutely nothing. Not even a warning. Nothing. Chrome manages to "download" a file but its size is 0. I did deactivate the phishing and malware protection but it still downloads nothing. Same deal with Internet Explorer. It's LSPDFR 0.2a specifically, I am able to download other mods with no issue except for the malware warnings.
-
Just realized that I was still using 0.2. But I can't download 0.2a... With Firefox: going through the Capcha thing, hitting Submit. Nothing happens. No download. Just nothing happens. With Chrome: the file that is "downloaded" has a size of 0. Edit: just tried with IE, same issue, the file has a size of 0.

1. Even with a couple of cop cars between the suspect and you they still only shoot at you, I have witnessed it many times, they just completely ignore the other cops. Heck during a pursuit after crashing their car and after they ran out, I just held into cover behind mine: you can see bullets, the only one that was being shot at was me and my car, the other cops were completely ignored. 2. Noose helis are lame, it's just an I WIN button, which is not what I am looking for. Once again, the AI in 0.1 was fine, now it's just ridiculously OP. So I hope this is a bug and not intended.
-
Any plan to tone down the OP armed suspects? Since 0.2 whenever you engage a pursuit with armed suspects it's like they only see you and only you and they are deadly accurate (got to open the console to heal me every 10 seconds). Their AI was fine now it's just not fun anymore to the point where I am going to ignore these callouts.

Areas that are only accessible in online (the aircraft carrier and the other boat are both part of heist setups) so it seems that this guy is able to go there in story mode Not sure what it has to do with LSPDFR though except that it is modding...
