  1. Something that may be seen as superficial, but I would love to have it for more realism: - instead of a marker on the map, just have the "last seen area" (the big circle), and a description of the car/ped ("black Sultan" for instance). It could be a bit tricky;for ppl to find the suspect, so you may want to add some more info to better find the car, but to me this is the ultimate realism :)
  2. Hello, By playing LSPDFR and starting to do some ped-work (using the radio), I came across the "Ambiant action" menu, that it here since the very first release. The thing is I can't understand how this works. As far as I remember, this was supposed to let you lean on your car or against a wall, but either it doesn't work or it's something else. Can you guys tell me if you know? :) Thanks !
  3. As crazy as this may sounds, it actually worked indeed! You sir, deserve a medal! @LukeD maybe you want to add this in a "troubleshoot" section or something :) Might not be the only one to have that kind of issue, and a simple solution seems to work well. See the fix idea just above :) It might help you as well. Oh and by the way, just my 2 cents on Broken down car callouts: I would love to ask drivers IDs :) (not possible atm it seems)
  4. Hello, I wanted to give your mod a try, but I can't get it to run. I have LSPD 0.2 installed (with the provided RageHook version), working fine. I did put the file where they have to be, ran RageHook as an admin as always, but when the game is loading (some secs after hitting "story mode"), I get a "LSPDFR has crashed" message. Here is the log: Not sure why it's written in french, but the message says: Impossible to load one or more of the required types. Extract the property LoaderExceptions for more info. (--> not sure what I can do here?) Impossible to load the type 'LSPD_First_Response.Mod.API.Plugin' from the assembly 'LSPD First Response Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' And then: Exception message: the value can't be null Name of the parameter: second
  5. Wait, is there a way to set up roadblocks??! Other than that, you can leave the vehicle "on" when you exit it. You just have to set it accordingly in the menu (hit 'N' and navigate right, and put engine to "always on"). However, I think this should be the default setting.
  6. Hello everyone, Introduction First off, a message to the LSPDFR team: you did an amazing über-fantastic job with that 0.2 release! I had very high expectations (you know, the hype and everything), but this... THIS totally oversteps what I dreamt of. I mean, some weeks ago you said "well, it's gonna be very tricky to ask for peds IDs", and BOOM! Peds are now giving me their IDs. I always had doubts on you, but now I am sure: you're not humans, you are at least semi-gods I will consider making a donation, as you guys really deserve it! So now, onto the subject: here are some thoughts of what I really like in LSPDFR 0.2, and some bugs I encountered (played roughly an hour, just to test everything runs fine). Sorry if some have already been told/written somewhere else. Things I love Pretty much everything, but some are over the top, such as: The audio files The audio files (jesus, I really love them! So much immersion!) Civs now using their signals to pull over (can't remember of any civ doing that in 0.1e) The new "pullover" features (computer, radio, asking for IDs, etc.) --> pullovers are taking much longer, and I really enjoy this! It's sometimes even more fun than a pursuit The controller support (xbox 360 in my case, the LB button for police computer is nice) Did I tell you about the audio files? Bugs / issues (with level of importance) LOW: If I do a criminal act as a GTA character (Mickael, Trevor, or the other dude), A search area will pop on the minimap for my char as if I was a NPC cop (you know, the one that is displayed when the cops are looking for you) --> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=482111323 LOW: When I arrest a suspect, when I drive him to custody there's still the search area displayed (which follows the suspect / my car obviously) LOW: The map has "warfog" again. Not sure it's related to LSPDFR though. LOW: I put a cowboy hat as 'prop' during the char creation, but it seems like I lost it at some point (can't figure when though, might try to reproduce that) LOW: if I pull someone over, then ask for ID, go back to my car and search for Name AND Plate, it seems like I can't "resume" the conversation, I have to start over by saying Hi. LOW: talking to peds to ask for their ID (for instance) always starts with something like "HEY YOU OVER HERE, STOP". This sounds a bit rude, is this supposed to be like that? MED: when accepting callouts or opening the backup menu for the FIRST time, there's a little freeze (like 1 sec) Not an issue but something I think is missing for traffic stops: would it be possible to have a "visual" on IDs? I mean, I have very bad memory, and sometimes I forget the name of the civ I pulled over, and then I have to get out of the car and ask him/her again. Therefore, it would be nice to have a "check ID again" feature without having to re-ask :) Also, cops are leaving the crime scene too early to me. They arrest the suspect and drive off (even without taking the dude) Well, that's pretty much it. Haven't played a lot yet (I sure will in the next days ), but I thought you might wanna know all this. Again, good job with that release! This is truly amazing!
  7. 20Mb remaining. 14 mins to go xD Now that's what I call server overloading
  8. It just went from 3mins to 5mins haha :D
  9. 5 minutes until... maybe the next 30min countdown
  10. Oh crap! Now I'm in a real struggle inside of my head: do I wait for 2 more hours and play with the risk of being exhausted at work tomorrow, or do I wait tomorrow evening? Oh well... :) 1h less sleep can't hurt me (who said I won't be able to play only 1h? :D)
  11. Hoping it will be released before midnight UTC. Otherwise I will have to wait until tomorrow evening to play.
  12. Quick question, not stressing anyone: When the release will be ready, will there be an announcement like "releasing today at <time>", or will you just drop the file and post a news on the forum?
  13. For now LSPDFR doesn't work on cracked version (due to the Rage Hook plugin that blocks it). I've already tested it. Moreover, the LSPDFR team clearly stated that they don't intend to support pirated copies of the game, unfortunately for you.
  14. We all hope! Especially my F5 key :P But the time they spend providing news is time they will not spend actually working on LSPDFR, so too much news is too much I guess :)
  15. It works with the latest rage hook plugin, however there are some issues I've experimented yesterday. After some time, I drove past what looked like a garbage dump of policecars (5-10 police cars updside down blocking the road or the alleys). Didn't play today, so maybe it was an isolated issue.
  16. Today is workday. Not sure they had a lot of time to dig into this. (I might be wrong tho)
  17. Hype train! Choo Choo!! As a developer myself, I don't think it will be release today (because when you think a bug is fixed, some more wild bugs appears), but I keep faith nevertheless :) Good job anyway, Sam & the whole LSPDFR team. You guys deserve a medal for the fast fix you are trying to provide.
  18. I want to add another thing: when an AI cop arrest someone, if you aim your gun at that civ he's gonna freak out and run (even with cuffs on). Not sure if that's a bug though?
  19. About the controller: I think it's a good thing that some button are mapped to the controller as well (even though I would like to have even more, like the ones to accept/refuse callouts, etc). I think they should just put the backup on another button (now the struggle is: which one? B?). I think you can remap the controller also with some external programs (still looking forward to making it working on my side, but I'm sure you can) Couldn't find better words to describe what's going on after gun shots :D
  20. Just played 2 hours of LSPDFR... One word: amazing! Very good job for a first release. Hadn't any trouble or crash. Impressive! I never could play LCPDFR on GTA IV (due to the taxi bug and other things that really pissed me off), but now I'm very glad to be able to roleplay a cop :D Few things I observed: I can't repair my car like a regular car (as it's a police one). Will there be something to do it in the future? The ELS-like script has a minor bug. If I set it to lights only, then give a ticket to a civ, when I get back in my car I have lights + sirens.Sometimes I can't tell people to go out of the vehicle (I'm aiming at them with the gun, hit E as stated on screen, but nothing happens)For some callouts, I have 2 red dots (is that the bug of the guy not spawning in the fleeing car?)The arrest system/animation is a bit clunky when you are part of the backup. What I mean is that if I try to put handcuffs on him and so does the officer besides me, the officer falls back as if I ran into him, and the civ goes from crouched to up, to crouched again. Not sure if I'm explaining it well.. (I'm not a native speaker :s)The punch strength is too strong... It only needs a single punch in a civ to kill him, which is a bit unrealisticThe car/character choosing screen needs a bit of polishing. For instance, I couldn't rotate around the car to see what the "extra" was when setting on "ON". Also it seems like there are some "hidden" faces. For instance, if I pick face 0, i got the white/shaved one, but if I hit A (xbox controller) I have another one, even if I'm still on face 0Other than that, very, very good job. Everything runs pretty smooth! Can't wait for the next update :)
