A lot(not all) of mods for V use new features though obviously even the K-9 script is available for IV(obviously though the dog replaces a skin model in IV). It depends on the script and the functions it uses.

By the way, do any of you guys have any advice to prevent crashing?

I don't currently play V(I could upgrade my desktop if I really wanted to), but I personally feel that IV has everything that I'd really want, anyway. I haven't even barely put a dent in the IV story, I don't think I have even on the console version. I mostly play it just for FR.

Sadly though, FR isn't being updated and still has a bit of bugs.

I kind of feel like as GTA V gets more and more evolved(LSPDFR too) that the activity of LCPDFR has gone down a huge amount, even though it is still a great modification(despite IV's shortcomings and unstableness).

That being said, do any of you still actively play and enjoy LCPDFR? Are there even any more clans that play it? Thanks for your answers. 

This is the LCPD section, plus you keep mentioning how you have LCPDFR however the log says LSPDFR.

I know that making a modification for LCPDFR won't result in a lot of attention or downloads but I thought I'd do it anyway. Basically, FRAddons uses the LCPDFR API to provide some neat addon abilities to LCPDFR such as ordering your partner to arrest someone, pulling over a boat, ordering a person out of the vehicle during a traffic stop(without engaging in the traffic stop menu) and more.

FEATURES:

Traffic Stops:

"Step out of the vehicle!"

The first feature I wish to touch upon is ordering a pedestrian out of a vehicle during a traffic stop. This, while rather simple, can make your experience much more enjoyable. If the suspect is disorderly, the vehicle is stolen or you just don't trust the driver then you can order them to step out of the vehicle where you can then cuff them or do whatever else.

"Don't run from me, boy!"

For those up for a challenge, FRAddons also has the ability to start a pursuit out of a traffic stop with the touch of a button. Not really much else to this, basically it ends the traffic stop and creates the pursuit.

"Stop the boat, right now!"

This addon(much like my boatpulloverIV script) allows you to temporarily detain a boat or in other words perform a traffic stop. This is obviously a bit more advanced and connected to FR than the script since this uses the API which provides some neat new functions as well as functions that connect with FR to relay a more enjoyable playing experience for the user.

"BRAVO-2 to dispatch, requesting an additional unit for a low priority traffic stop."

The LCPDFR backup system was not coded for the usage within traffic stops / vehicle detainment. Therefore, this script offers a (though rather simple) alternative mainly for traffic detainment assistance. Orders to the assisting officer include help get suspect out of vehicle, search vehicle, and detain the passenger(along with a few others).

Duty Enhancements:

"Officer is ready for duty"

Normally, no additional messages are sent when you cloak in or out of duty. This script changes that. Whenever you go on or off duty a message is sent saying "Officer (name) is now on duty and ready for calls". Just a minor thing that goes far.

For anyone who actually cares about LCPDFR: this is just the tip of the iceberg and this itself still doesn't encompass all the abilities I have already coded and have been working on so stay tuned for further information.

Viruses aren't legal; not really sure about all local laws in the US but most likely spreading viruses isn't going to be something that is tolerated. Not sure about other countries, though.

I want to be able to attach it to a pedestrian while they are in the handcuffed animation so it is preferable if it fits all skins as best as possible.

That's another site and should be addressed there. It isn't their fault if you took a risk and downloaded a CVPI from an author(not them) there and got infected. The best you can do is contact your authorities and or the website owners and discuss the issue.

Nevermind, I did do it properly but didn't know I had to configure the trainer. For anyone facing a similar a issue:

- Open trainer.ini.

- Search for "VehicleLivery="

- Replace whatever number it is with 9.

This can be closed.

Is there a way to add dedicated video RAM somehow? It sucks that that is the only thing keeping away from playing V on it.

I at the moment have a HP laptop(along with some other desktops). The thing with the laptop is that it falls short about 400mb of having enough video ram to run V(to match the minimum requirements anyway). So basically I am wondering if there is anyway to upgrade the ram so it has 400 more mb and can run V.

Is there any hope for upgrading the laptop / replacing the video card or is it just not possible to play V on it?

It apparently has some liveries(check the link in the description it has a dl) and I cannot figure out how to get it to work despite following a lengthy video regarding adding liveries. Any help would be great, thanks.

commandline.txt allows it to run with computers that don't match the initial settings; though you still need a graphics card that is from this era of technology, it also allows some computers near the edge of the minimum specifications to run the game(albeit with lowered graphics; may not look as nice).

I once had a laptop and this solved the issue - otherwise it just looped through the loading screen. Otherwise, the crash may be an issue with an update whether it be a windows update, driver update, hardware update, etc.

Hello. I have searched for an actual handcuff model(not animation) but have come up empty. So I am wondering if anyone could import a handcuff model(preferably one that actually would fit in the general ped's hands / arms) for GTA4. It'd be great if it works in EFLC / TLAD and the main game though I won't push for it.

Uninstalling because of one crash was a very bad move. Is there a minidump.dmp file in the main directory? Is ScriptHook and such still installed? Does the "Loading - mission name" pop up? If your running from a GFWL autosave try logging out of GFWL before pressing "Play" to access the game so it starts a new save game and you can from there find out if it's a corrupt savegame causing the issue.

Hello! I have finally taken some time to get GTA EFLC and install LCPDFR and whatnot though I do not want to install ELS until I can find cars to replace every(atleast almost every) ELS vehicle though I don't really want to go into using fully "modded" cars just yet. So basically I am wondering if anyone has a pack of the original GTA EFLC TboGT police / emergency service vehicles but with ELS modification.

Obviously, I specifically specified TBoGT / EFLC so not the general IV installation(I already have this heavily modded). Basically that means the vehicles I am looking for are police, police2, policeb(?)... Police Stinger, Police Bike, Police Cruiser I & Ambulance & Firetruck and whatever other emergency vehicles.

Try this:

1. Replace the ScriptHookDotNet.asi with the version that comes with LCPDFR if applicable. Try removing the file and reinstalling LCPDFR, it should then place the up-to-date working version in it's place.

2. If you are using xlive.dll try using dsound.dll instead.

Actually, it seems you actually can manage to (without modifying any animations) apply animations while the ped is knelt down. I also found an actual animation for pedestrians handcuffed on the ground

I've already been using the above one for a more tactical, force based arrest where you tackle the pedestrian; perhaps I can make a version and release it if it's something you guys are interested in.

Is there anyway to upgrade it if it's a laptop?

Well is there anyone who can tell for sure? I don't think the laptop is too shabby, everything else in System Requirements checked out fine - except the Video Memory was around 730MB and the requirement was 1GB - so I am wondering if this is an estimation or if it's a definite no.

Well I got the result from using systemrequirementslab.com so it may just be an estimate, not quite sure though. Is it a 100% no that I absolutely will not be able to play or will I possibly be able to slide by on the lowest settings?
