  1. The cop car in the first screenshot has got a vapid badge, and the LSSD cruiser looks like a vapid as well. Awesome! However, I find it a bit strange that in these screenshots, the red and blue parts of the lights are exactly the other way round from the trailer. This is a screen from the trailer: vlcsnap-2013-04-30-17h34m31s54.png You can see the red light being on the driver's side of the car, while both the LSPD and LSSD cars here spot a blue light on the driver's side.
  2. Even though it's just a taxi, I thought I'd post the Crown Victoria lookalike from Franklin's trailer. Compared to IV's Vapid, I think it looks a LOT more like the newest Vic, especially if you look at the rear ligths and the back pillar as well.
  3. Trailers are out. They've already been posted in but I'll still link to the R* Newswire article. In my opinion, they're plain awesome. Also, LED police lights. EDIT: Some screenshots:
  4. In my opinion, the problem is that there's just not a big enough market for good police simulations. Making an interesting police sim with modern graphics, different callouts and clever AI takes more money than the developer would make from the sales I guess. I really hope that I'm wrong, but the fact that there isn't a single good police game around (not counting LCPDFR since it's a free mod) leaves me with no other conclusion. All there is are sloppily programmed games with ancient graphics like this one, and I'm still kind of thinking of buying it once it's cheaper since there is absolutely no alternative.... But hey, Police Force 2 (=Polizei 2013) has made some slight improvements from the last version, so if they keep releasing a little better version every year, this might be really enjoyable in a few years.
  5. I absolutely failed at entering the helicopter back on my first playthrough. I think it took me 10-15 tries to get Niko inside. However there was no problem with the camera (at least I don't remember any), but the game simply didn't recognise my mashing the buttons to get him in. Since that took place on xbox, from my point of view this isn't so much a glitch but a little flaw in the mission design. Edit: fixed typo.
  6. Yesterday, upon browsing the web, I stumbled across the announcement of Batman: Arkham Origins, the prequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. It's not being developed by rocksteady anymore, but by Warner Bros. Montreal, and is expected to be released on October 25th, 2013. Today, I found some more info on the game. Apparently, it will be set in a winterly version of Gotham City - a real, living GC this time, not a closed off part only filled with thugs like in the previous games. It is said to consist of Old Gotham - which is basically the world of Arkham City before it is remodeled as a giant prison - and New Gotham, the more modern part of the City, thus making the world twice as alrge as in Arkham City. The main villian is supposed to be Black Mask, but I've read that there's a bunch of killers trying to get Batman, one of them being Deathstroke. Also, there will be side missions in the game, like various crimes in progress, that will get more challenging as you progress though the game. My source for all of this are two articles on a German gaming website, GameStar.de (Announcement, Further Info - both in German obviously). However, I think a quick google search will find you the same info on English sites. Personally, I'm really excited. I played both AA and AC, the latter being in my top three games of 2011. However, the developer change worries me a little bit, but the game mechanics are supposed to stay the same, so I'll hope for the best. What do you guys think about it? Does the new developer mean certain doom or maybe a fresh input to make the Batman series even better?
  7. Actually, it's just Germany. Austrian Federal Police has different liveries and uniforms. Actually, they advertised this game with it being made by the creators of the Emergency series, Quadriga Games. I just googled both Sixteen Tons Entertainment and Quadriga Games, and strangely they both have Emergency News on their website, although 16Tons' website looks a bit more professional... EDIT: Actually, I just found out that I've been using the word "actually" way too often in this post...
  8. GTA V is becoming more awesome with every new screenshot they release. I thought it would be possible to go diving after they said you could explore the depths of the ocean, and now they're putting submarines in the game. Can't wait for the next screens/trailer.
  9. The CVPI is my favourite US police car. But there are some fine european cars as well, for example the Mercedes E-class some german police departments use: This one is from the Hamburg Police.
  10. I don't have my GfWL and xBox Live accounts connected at the moment, since I'm only using an offline account for GfWL. I never bothered connecting them, especially because I've heard that you'd lose all of your GfWL savegames upon changing the account, but I don't have many GfWL games installed at the moment so it would be a good opportunity. However, there are some games I own both on PC and xBox, so my question is, how do the achievements and gamerscore combine? Are the games shown twice in the achievement lists, or can you see xBox games only on your xBox and PC games only on your PC? Does it even work getting the achievements twice? Thanks for any infos in advance!
  11. How did I manage to miss this topic for four days? I even started my own one on the Sherriff's cruiser, and I'm just now seeing these awesome screens of the LSPD cruiser and jeep! Looks like R* is starting to release information on a regular basis now, and not letting some three months pass between every screenshot... I wonder if there'll even be another trailer this year!
  12. Like I said, I'm quite sure it has Sheriff written on its door - or "-riff", at least ^^
  13. Those of you who speak german may know GameStar.de, a big german gaming site. Today they posted a bunch of new GTA V screenshots. This link leads to GameStar's GTA V screenshot gallery, which includes these new screenshots. Two of them are particularly interesting, though: This screenshot offers a good front view of V's Vapid cruiser in its LSPD livery. However, on this second screen you can see the same cruiser (I think) in an all-white livery! Looking closely at the cruiser, I think I can see a Sheriff star and the end of the word "Sheriff" on the front door. So, Sheriff's Department seems to be back ;) EDIT: Fixed some typos.
  14. Just checked R* newswire and found this: In the comments, R* also posted: "We know you're all very excited for the next GTA V trailer, and we'll have more info to share with you all on that very soon. Anyone that continues to spam the comments thread of this post with demands will however have their messages removed and their commenting priviledges suspended. Thanks for your patience and understanding."
  15. I agree. Diving - with a complete diving equipment - would be awesome, and "depth of the ocean" sounds a lot like that.
  16. AWW YEAH That is some very good news! Edit: Especially this part from their announcement: "Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean." Miles beyond. Tops of the Mountains. Depths. Of. The. Ocean. O__O Edit 2: @kjel: looks like we added that info at the same time - doubleninja'd?
  17. That's the artwork I was referring to in my previous post. But while SA didn't have regular female cops, it had this particular one. So I'm keeping my hopes up at the moment.
  18. While I certainly hope so, I seem to remember a GTA: SA artwork with that female sherriff who could be Carl's girlfriend in the game, but there weren't any "real" female cops, ones that would spawn normally. But hey, we may get female cops, or you may get to have her as a girlfriend in-game... Neither option looks bad to me ;)
  19. They ALSO talk about a completely new and mod-able Emergency 5. It's in the last paragraph of the press release. @taximan5: Sie schreiben, dass "au
  20. I started playing Skyrim again a few days ago. Still great fun. I'll link a gameplay trailer from 2011, I think it's a great trailer with the music and the views of Skyrim's landscape.
  21. Upon surfing on some gaming websites, I stumbled over the official announcement of Emergency 5, the successor to Emergency 2012. This link leads to the (German, as it does not seem to be available in another language) statement on the homepage of Deep Silver, the game's publisher: http://www.deepsilve...rgency-2013-an/ In short, they start with the announcement of Emergency 2013, a DLC for Emergency 2012 which is supposed to have new missions and should come out in November. At the end, however, they write: "Deep Silver also confirms that Emergency 5, the long awaited sequel to Emergency 4, is in development and will put a special focus on modding." This is just my innoficial summary and translation, mind you, but I think I got all the important facts I figured I'd post it here since there are some quite enthusiastic Emergency players around.
  22. "How are you undercover? You're in your uniform!" - "Yes, but my badge is in my pocket." This is one great parody! Also, the Star Wars Cops is a classic.
