I can fully agree on this point.

I bought NFS Most Wanted on PC the other day and it was such an uneeded hassle.

Instead installing normally, EA pushed its fat ass in the way. When you click "install" it actually launches the shitty spyware Origin which THEN starts "copying from disc" which takes a god awful amount of time, then it installs the files it copied over from the disc, rendering the point for the disc absolutely useless.

Then it took a good half hour to actually get the damn thing to load, Origin has shitty customer support (probably because its by EA), the phone lines are expensive and the live chat doesn't even work.

I miss the old days where you could pop a disc into your drive, install it and play within 30 minutes, none of this external shit.

They will never stop piracy, no matter how hard they try. The amount of money thrown at "anti-piracy" techniques is probably comparable to the amount they loose to pirates. And the more they try, the worse methods they come up with.
"Let's limit the times it can be installed"
"Let's add some crapware that has to be run 24/7 and tracks info irrelevant to our product"
"Let's prosecute the people downloading it rather than go after those cracking and uploading it" (ulers are not dumb enough to get caught)
"Let's push laws to censor the internet. After all, we do fund these politicians" (admittedly Hollywood and the music industry, not gaming industry, yet)
I am becoming less and less sympathetic with every DRM method they come up with. It is hard to sympathise with the developers who have to do all the hard work, stick to difficult schedules and rush ports, when the publishers are trying to squeeze a title for every penny, even if it kills the title.
I have seen so many titles ruined by publishers and so many development studios go under.

On the note of the virus that is DRM, I was installing GRUB on a HDD that previously had a Win install on it. GRUB warned about "FlexNet" occupying sectors 32 & 33. It is some DRM crap used by Adobe, it embeds itself inside the space on the HDD that is for the MBR. More virus than "anti-piracy".

The only game I've recently pirated was the new need for speed, I wasn't sure if my system could run it due to its stunning lighting system..

Turns out, it can. So I removed it, went out and bought a disc copy to support the developers. Haven't looked back since, I love it. The online is fantastic.

If it wont be released on PC, R* will lose my respect, and I will never buy any game from them till the die I die.Bought all the GTA's, all of the Max Payns guess what, I am pirating games, but I download them to try them first, not to be a dick and steal games... Most of us ( pirates ) do that - we download first, buy later. Also much easier if you are buying games on Steam - Steam can be very slow and could take like 5 hours or more to download a game like GTA IV etc, and if you torrent a retail copy, it could take you as little 1 hour

Use the Traffic Load mod instead.  I use to use Traffic Flow but you get the crazy ambulance drives and only 20 different vehicles.  With Traffic Load you get ALL the cars in game and no F'ed up ambulance drivers.

Also, I use the coroner most of the time.  They are decent drivers and they will pickup bodies and clean up the scene.  They also fix up the suspects that are still alive so you can then arrest the hunched over criminal.  After a nice long shootout with a gang, a few times I had the coroners van stuffed with body bags and I didn't get run over by EMS.

    Good day,

If your using traffic flow then that "dispatches" emergency services so if you remove that then your problem will be fixed :)

I'm sorry but i don't have the link anymore..
I think i got them from the police pack created by "rextex128" on youtube. try looking on his channel. also try "britishpolicemods" as well.

I know a LCPDFR member is in the middle of making a british uniform pack, though I can't for the life of me remember who it is.

lol, what are you on about? It's not a support question as it isn't related to LCPDFR.

No it's hasn't got anything to do with cheats afaik. You can mod it so it is a telescopic baton here: http://gtapolicemods...?do=file&id=550

Yes indeed. Much like the persons details, you'll need to first generate a licence/number plate then run your checks using it.

Although a person will be assigned as the vehicle owner and there will be named drivers also. I'm going to keep it realistic, so it will list if valid insurance, MOT/vehicle safety check (I don't know if insurance and MOT are mandatory in the US, someone will need to advise me), road tax etc is held, sometimes these will show as not being renewed or even purchased. And of course a vehicle licence check will need to be added to persons check so we can check if the driver is qualified to do so.

May also include a random list of passenger details based on how many (if any) you say are in the car you stop.

But it will not list any vehicle particulars for obvious reasons.

Mods can be relativly easy to install. Most can be placed into the game's directory (the location where the game is install on your drive), others will require you to use a tool to install.

What would help us help you is what mods would you like to use? File mods, script mods, car mods, ect.

But there are some tools you should have to help you install mods like car mods. You can use either Spark IV, or Open IV. To get them, just google one of them and install it to your computer.

By the way, the directory (once the game is install) would be located here: C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV

    Hoped this helped you.

First off, install it, patch it up to 1.0.7.0, play through the opening mission, then make a save

Then, download and install the mod and install any missing things, you may have to restart.

Install the mod and pick ONE of the two ASI loaders.

Once that's done, go into IV (or EFLC), and load your save

    Hit ALT+P.

Drive to a star icon on the map (or hit esc, set a waypoint then hit esc again to get back into the game and hit the ' key, and type teleport wp

Once in the station, walk to the far end (the door directly in front of you) to go on duty.

After that, go outside, pick a car, and patrol.

Hit shift+Tab to see the key list, and most importantly...HAVE FUN

    Hope that helps
