Beginniner...from scratch after I buy the GTA4 for pc, how do I play this game I'm new to Mods never done one

Featured Replies

I have never downloaded or did anything with MODS on the PC before so please help me so I can play this game. Ok first I'm guessing I'll need to buy GTA IV for the PC but after that then what?

First off, install it, patch it up to 1.0.7.0, play through the opening mission, then make a save

Then, download and install the mod and install any missing things, you may have to restart.

Install the mod and pick ONE of the two ASI loaders.

Once that's done, go into IV (or EFLC), and load your save

Hit ALT+P.

Drive to a star icon on the map (or hit esc, set a waypoint then hit esc again to get back into the game and hit the ' key, and type teleport wp

Once in the station, walk to the far end (the door directly in front of you) to go on duty.

After that, go outside, pick a car, and patrol.

Hit shift+Tab to see the key list, and most importantly...HAVE FUN

Hope that helps

Sorry but im in the same boat here, having just installed my first police car last night and also ELS (which took me around 3 hours lol ), but when you say anything thats missing, what do you mean ?

Mods can be relativly easy to install. Most can be placed into the game's directory (the location where the game is install on your drive), others will require you to use a tool to install.

What would help us help you is what mods would you like to use? File mods, script mods, car mods, ect.

But there are some tools you should have to help you install mods like car mods. You can use either Spark IV, or Open IV. To get them, just google one of them and install it to your computer.

By the way, the directory (once the game is install) would be located here: C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV

Hoped this helped you.

Again, sorry, when you say "They all come with LCPDFR though.", dose that include the cars, the uniform and also the thing around the screen telling you speeds and how to catch speeders ?

No, those are seperate mods entirely.

Think of it like this. LCPD's like a new house, it has furniture, electrics and stuff in it

But, to get the stuff you want you have to add it in.

To the op... Before you go out and buy GTAIV pease make sure your PC is up to the job. It's a game that can be quite demanding on the pc.

I have it already, and its very boring now, so i want to try somthing new :) and i like L.A Noirem being the police instead of criminal so cannot wait lol. Too impatient lol.

You find uniforms in the Download section, or other sites that host GTA mods.

To install them, you can either use Spark IV or Open IV. Pick one, or both.

Don't forget to read the read me's.
