  1. I did see this, but I'm wondering what exactly it means, whether it was replaced with something better or removed. Unless a game breaking flaw was found I don't see why it should be taken out, I guess we'll find out shortly.
  2. Not a huge fan of communities anymore personally which is why the release of 0.4 is a godsend as I haven't played very much of 0.3.1 recently.
  3. Forgive me if this is a thing already, the idea just hit me in the face having talked about customising the patrol areas. If I'm recalling correctly we used to see officers on foot patrolling around liberty city in GTAIV. Now I could be wrong but I don't believe this happens in GTAV, unless a cops car despawns in which they'll wander off and despawns themselves. Foot patrols I think would add that extra level of ambience into the mod, and could even be extended as far as cycle patrols. Thoughts?
  4. Custom stations has been a long time coming, there's a good number of stations already, but there's a couple of small places that the game often refuses to give a police presence such as the Vespucci beach station and the Vespucci pier station.
  5. I'm hoping street level, for example a co-ordinate system or something, however I think it'll likely be a bit simpler probably using the games system to recognise areas for dispatch messages, having unmarked cars near the FIB office etc and mixing up the patrol areas will be a major feature for me.
  6. Anyway bringing it back to relevancy , I'm wondering how specific the customisation will be for specific patrol areas, do we reckon it'll be set areas such as davis, rancho etc or do you think we'll be able to customise it down to the street level, e.g a higher presence of swat/noose vehicles at the noose hq for example.
  7. I think I speak for most when I say we didn't doubt the teams commitment, and I think I also speak for the rest and say thanks for the update!
  8. I personally can't say I've experienced this, and generally I'm playing in a British format so if someone has a gun I'm a goner pretty quick. When it comes to youtubers I wouldn't be surprised if they had godmode on to prevent being shot halfway through a video as it breaks the effect. I could be wrong.
  9. Might be worth looking at other specs, GPU isn't the be all and end all of performance.
  10. I think you've covered most of it. Other than reworking police pursuit logic for the AI and the pursuit menu.
  11. This, I think this accurately represents this thread perfectly. It's not a conspiracy ad revenue earning gigglefest for the staff, It's just exploded as it's the last thread before the release thread. I don't think the staff could have predicted the level of attention it's gotten.
  12. This is what I'll get printed on my postcards, the answer! You've painted the perspective perfectly. Feel free to the take the thread out back and shoot it or lock it so others can see the response, a bit more clearly defined.
  13. Of course, I completely understand that, it's been made clear on prior occasions why there's isn't a discord and that's down to your discretion and noone else's. This is why I was seeking clarification, if the team do not condone it, then I won't do it, hence why I was seeking a response from you guys on the matter rather than go off the back of an old post, especially if there is ambiguity in that it's okay, but then also not okay. The last thing I want to do is step on your toes.
  14. I was asking essentially that there was no objections providing the conditions I outlined were met, e.g. not advertised and perfectly clear its unofficial and unaffiliated.
  15. That's why I was clarifying, the only stage I suggested staff involvement was to mediate that the above was true, Just asking politely before i go and tread on any plans of your own. As i stated at the beginning of the thread "I've read another post regarding the position on an official discord and I agree firmly with the teams position" I read the thread entirely and saw that it's something you may look at in the future. Nor have I suggested you've said no. I was merely asking for clarification, not questioning that thread. I'm sure you understand that I meant no harm, and that your reply was merely concise and not short tempered.
  16. Noticed I've put this in the wrong place, sorry! Hi all, 0.4 is around the corner and the community is about to experience it's biggest and best update yet. I've read another post regarding the position on an official discord and I agree firmly with the teams position, What I'm interested in is the team position on an unofficial discord. I'm going to spitball some points and then hopefully get an answer overall. This is assuming they're not outright undesirable to the staff team in which case fair enough. the discord would have to clearly state that it's unofficial in nature. the discord would state no affiliation with G17 Media. the discord would have an explicit set of rules mirroring the professionalism on the forums. the discord will not be advertised on the forums unless via profile or signature, and within reason. I ask as given the right amount of patience, commitment and some common sense with regards to the rules, an unofficial discord would thrive, allowing people to come together with members of the community. And although direct liaison with the team is impractical and time consuming, a member of staff would be more than welcome to be present in order to ensure the above criterion is met. To summarise, if a staff member can provide an answer to the above four points that's all i intend to get from this thread and it can be closed, archived or taken round the back of the shed and shot. If you want to give a blessing to go ahead and try in the meantime, much obliged! Thanks.
  17. Potentially something that can be done with the 0.4 API as I believe ingame scenarios are going to be easily manipulated through that.
  18. You shouldn't need a new one for a fresh install.
  19. Hmm, a fresh install shouldn't require extra files to get it working as standard e.g game config files, was this redownloaded or reinstalled from a backup?
  20. I reccomend a reinstall of the plugin and quick sift through the ini files to see if there's a setting in there for it, can't say I've ever had this problem, but I do vaguely recall albo putting some tutorial things in there.
  21. No apology nessecary. When the author of the model is editing it in Zmodeler, the software used to export vehicle files, they map specific parts of the model to a template image they create by cutting those parts of the vehicle and matching them to the plate. Only the person with the unlocked model file can do this.
  22. I think it's been mentioned but you need a legitimate copy of GTAV. The development team don't condone piracy. Buy the game, you'll find it worthwhile!
  23. Rereading some of the update posts for the new features, I'm immensely looking forward to the ambient scenarios that the game will generate using the crime system, This was something I felt was missing, as it was difficult prior to proactively police and usually left you responding to calls primarily and the odd traffic stop. I'm curious as to what kind of scenarios we'll end up getting into.
