cobra0422 reacted to Nostrra in LSPDFR 0.4 - Coming February, 2019This is both a good and bad thing, Bad in the sense that some developers spent a while working on plugins, but good in that the features are included in the core mod and will likely be more stable as a result.

cobra0422 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Announcement + First PreviewBeen a while, huh?
You know, when we first started making LSPDFR, the whole process was pretty much one big roller-coaster that didn't have any brakes: there were the obvious highs when we'd finally add in something cool, but the low points were pretty hard as well - the amount of work that went into simply researching how things worked really took its toll as well. And, of course, while this was all going on there just simply wasn't any stopping, we were a couple of (somewhat) real people who essentially lived in Los Santos for just about all of 2015, spending month after month pushing forward and trying to come up with things that everyone here would like to see.
So, of course, the grind and the pace of everything simply just wasn't sustainable and after 0.3, it's no secret that while the numbers and everything for our site are still on the up, month after month, things did slow down quite substantially for the actual mod itself. But, we can tell you, this wasn't all bad news - it's afforded us the opportunity to take a step back and really look at the mod and figure out where we want to go next with it. While our approach before was all about cramming as much new stuff as we could into a couple of months of development, we've now been able to look back at many of the original ideas and concepts that we had for LSPDFR and build on them. Of course, with that being said, there's still a lot of new stuff crammed into 0.4!
With 0.4, we've taken the time to fix a couple of those "how the hell didn't they add this yet" moments :)
Aside from the cool little additions like this, though, the major theme of 0.4 is Character. Ever since seeing the character system for GTA Online, it was always our goal to implement something similar in LSPDFR. There's just something that much more personal and immersive about playing a game with your own character, and the possibilities that it offers are staggering too. And yes, while mods like EUP are fantastic (and awesomely compatible with 0.4!), they still feel somewhat separate or distant. With 0.4, this separation is gone.
No, these shots aren't taken from GTA Online. This is our own, fully-featured, LSPDFR Character Creator.
Of course, we'll talk more about the new Character features in LSPDFR 0.4 later. The Character Creator menu shown above is obviously only one part of what's new in this regard, although hopefully it emphasizes the effort that we've gone to. Thanks to some of the new additions like this, much of 0.4 actually looks and feels like an entirely new mod altogether.
Officer Ronson and his clones obviously couldn't make it to the flashlight party.
Stay tuned! We'll be sharing more about 0.4 soon.

cobra0422 reacted to Reddington in Handling lineIn the vehicles.meta, change the handlingid for sheriff2 to gresley.
Your topic has been moved to GTA V Support, this is not LSPDFR related.
Please post in the correct location in the future.

cobra0422 reacted to kahlandir in Excessive new files?Good evening :)
I've been really enjoying making skins/textures for vehicles over the last couple months. It's also very gratifying to see the attention posts get when are on the "Latest Files" section under downloads. This definitely shows a higher level of traffic (+ for creator), and more people get the opportunity to see what has been posted (+ for community). Win-win for everyone! :)
Unfortunately I've noticed over the last few weeks there are a lot of uploads of skins/textures for individual vehicles. But then the same skin for about 4 other vehicles, also in individual uploads... so now out of the 14 spots, one person has taken up 5 "Latest Files" in a matter a an hour or so, depending on whether they completed all of them first.
My thought is... why not put them in a pack. You'll get the same exposure as everyone else, and everyone can enjoy the "Latest Files" feature. It's discouraging to watch a file that I upload disappear off the list within a matter of hours because a few of us use it for individual files, followed by a wave of files from one or two people.
Just a growing pet-peeve of mine that is becoming all too common it seems like. I realize I'm new to the environment compared to others who have been involved since GTA IV. (I joined Oct. 28th 2016), but I'd like to think we would all get better use of the features of the site if everyone respected the space? Create a skin pack for a group of vehicles and add two that upload.
My two cents :P
Thanks,
Kahlandir

cobra0422 reacted to Kal74 in Coroner Bodybag Glad TrashbagsCurrently in LSPDFR the when you call the Coroner for a dead body, they show up, take some photos, say a couple of kind words :) Then stuff the dead bodies into a Glad Trashbag.
<--------------------------Unrealistic
How difficult would it be to create a model for the Coroner that would use something more realistic like
<--------------------realistic
Heck anything besides a Trashbag would be an improvement in my book.. Perhaps someone has already done this or currently working on this?

cobra0422 reacted to Kal74 in Coroner Bodybag Glad TrashbagsThat's good to hear.. I would love to see it happen.. I'll even try to pitch it to some of the Devs I know..

cobra0422 reacted to Albo1125 in Coroner Bodybag Glad TrashbagsNot hard at all.
It's not a plugin that needs creating. It's a model - once the coroner bag model gets created it can be used with my coroner without my plugin needing an update.

cobra0422 reacted to Bclary6 in suggestions for more contentHere are a few ideas I have conjured up.
· Ability to call for the police Helicopter to search an area for a suspect prior to me showing up and not be in pursuit status.
· Ability to call K-9 to search an area, I don’t see the K-9 ability anymore in police radio. More K-9 involvement in general.
· Callouts to assist k-9 in a track (Man Hunt)
· As funny as it may sound, I would like to go code 4 because other officers have taken care of the situation already, or at least have to downgrade from code 3 to code 2. This will segway into my next idea of being a secondary officer for the entirety off the callout. Let them do the footwork for once. Long story short, I’m tired of making all the arrests. It adds realism to the experience IMO.
· AI police behavior can always use perfecting
· More medical calls, structure and vehicle fires that don’t burn out by the time I arrived. Rescue person from burning car; you know, stuff cops do HAHAH. Being an LEO myself, it’s not all just guns and chases.
· Pool drowning callout (CPR until medical arrives). Assist lifeguard with CPR (Hint hint).
· Ability to have callouts in the police chopper. (not sure if such exists)

cobra0422 got a reaction from Starmix in Rage Plugin Hook Unsupported game patch! Someone please help me!if there was a new gta 6 there would just be a new lspdfr.....
-
Legality is questioned, but TechFAQ's have downloads for every game version. Retail only: https://techfaqs.net/file/download-patch-1-0-1011-1-for-gta-v-on-pc-dlc-gta-online-cunning-stunts-special-vehicle-circuit/
@cobra0422, even if it was Rockstar made, it would break after updates because they modify the main game code.
What does that solve exactly?

cobra0422 got a reaction from ToastinYou in Add to lspdfr!Lspdfr is no doubt the best mod out there. just a suggestion maybe having the ability to ticket and question a suspect after arrest would be a nice addative. Arresting them and letting them go just to stop them again and question or cite them.... be cooler to handle it all from the back of the patrol car and then decide to release them or cite them and take them to jail.
