  1. I love the concept, however I seem to have a problem of a number of the objects spawning a few meters in the air. Anyone else have this or is it just me? Not even sure of the cause for this as I haven't made any adjustments to the map whatsoever.
  2. Nope. Its the oddest thing, no LCPDFR errors, or scripthook. It seems, at least for me, when the suspy decides to flee, having the traffic stopped (using M) seems to not let him go either, and CTD. Its only happened a few times, and is easily remedied by not using M on a traffic stop.
  3. Just a friendly addition, make sure you hit shift to cancel the stop when you decide to press M, as it seems if the traffic stop script does anything (at least if the driver attempts to flee), it crashes. Sometimes the script, sometimes CTD.
  4. Hey all, so I was perusing the interwebs, and found a lot of complaints about the Manhattan mod and how they didnt want to use NYPD and just respond to fire calls on freeplay. I've been tweaking my FP_params_endless ever since I downloaded the LA Mod to make it more realistic (A pretty decent downtime between calls sometimes), and certain calls I dont like to receive, like the earthquake. That is a game ender for me. So I decided to share with you all my Freeplay_params with hopes that it will improve your gameplay, no matter which mod you use. This one I primarily use for the Manhattan Mod, but can be used for most others, and only uses Fire and EMS calls. Just copy over the file in the Specs folder in your mod folder. Wouldnt hurt to back it up. I have a copy for Fire/EMS, Police, and Fire only. Let me know what you think! Also, if anyone has any idea on how to get rid of Hazmat calls, I'm all ears. I don't really enjoy chasing civies all over the map. Things Ive changed -Waiting time for calls -Min duration between events (to try and limit working one call at a time) -The callouts I receive (all fire/EMS related) -Start time (I like starting at night, I dont know why) *This is the edited version of the Manhattan Mods specs, so this may make fires burn and last longer, but Im not really sure.
  5. Awesome script, dont let any douchecanoe say otherwise. Its pretty solid, a few script crashes here and there, but excellent. There have been attempts at FDLC type mods, and many who lied about making them. The idea of being a medic in a game where you can drive an ambulance is not far fetched, and some people really need to understand that its not idea stealing or feature stealing. Anyways, back to the mod, how do you have the timing, at what intervals do you receive calls. It seems pretty good and spaced out, but there was a couple minutes I thought the script crashed, but nope, another call came. Gives you time to drive back to the station.
  6. What I did is just replace the glasswindow2 (or something like that) with a blank transparent copy from paint.net. Unfortunately, it makes your windows look invisible, but you never have the issue. I used to use the first person mod but my cars (especially the suburban) would always spin around. The best idea out of all of them is to edit the vehoff.csv. Do some reading and find out which one shoves you forward a bit. Its all a pain in the neck, but night driving wont be as hazardous. And most definitely make a back up of vehoff.
  7. You have to be on foot. Check the suspies ID and then go back to the menu where you asked for the ID and hit the "check on radio" or whatever it is called. F12.
  8. This was surprising to me, so I thought Id share. I saw on youtube many "helicopter patrols" where people would actually land and arrest people (Turns out, not realistic). So I thought Id give it a go. I was surprised to accept a callout, fly over to the incident (first was a drug deal) and got close enough to activate it. All of a sudden, my spotlight turned on and shined on one of the suspects. I thought this was neat, so I figured Id try to call back up. Sure enough, they showed up and arrested the suspects, with the exception of one who fled in a vehicle. Once the suspects at the scene were arrested, again without my intervention, I took off towards the fleeing Cavalcade. Units pursued in their usual bang em up fashion, and eventually took the suspy into custody. I only had to land and shoot a suspect whose arrest was glitching once in an hour of gameplay. I've been playing LCPDFR for a long time now, and I have no idea how long this was a thing, but I thought Id share my experience. Some tips Ive realized: - Stay with suspects, or they wont be arrested - Sometimes you need to be a stunt pilot in order to activate an incident (flying low in between buildings) - Fly relatively low when patrolling and if you come across a fleeing suspy, whether on foot or in car, you can assist in that pursuit - Use well modelled vehicles, as if parts disappear when you're far away, it really destroys immersion. (two guys chasing suspys in a floating chair is rather funny however) Any other tips, I'm all ears! This has added a whole new level to my LCPDFR experience. Again, kudos to the devs for all the hard work and amazing community support!

  10. Darn realistic. Guy hits cop, cue barrage of gunfire. People talk about going back to RC2, I don't think Id ever be able to.
  11. I believe it happened a few times. Last time I was chasing a crazy chick that ran out of her car, tazed her, and when I ordered her to stop, CTD. Second issue. On traffic stops, I run the name, but when I return to the vehicle I have no markers, and the area around the vehicle on the map turns to a yellow circle. They don't run or anything. Its very odd. Any help is appreciated!
  12. I have three folders of modded games GTAIV LCPDFR, GTAIV IRON MAN MOD, and GTAIVonline. I just rename whichever modded one I want to "GTAIV" and off I go. A 7 second game switch
  13. Use the unarmed cops mod. Just remember the hotkey when you need them to start shooting.
  14. This is all really odd... People came to LCPDFR to play as a cop in a game where crime runs rampant. I really thought everyone would be pro police. I expected the good cop versus bad cop thing, but hating all of them? Your opinions tho, gotta respect that. I love the Edmonton cops. I used to drive for a tow company on the police contract, and they all (excluding one giant dick, but I wont go into that) have been fair and honest, and the majority were awesome, admirable types, even to the suspies. Yay EPS, boo Australian cops apparently.
  15. d***m? What letters go in there? Im usually pretty good at wheel of fortune....
  16. Ive never personally seen it. But EPS colour scheme has changed to primarily black and whites. Leduc RC's have an old blue caprice (I think) with a giant light on the roof tho. And they still operate that thing.
  17. That was pretty awesome. Id throw some sandbags in that car tho, a little weight is needed
  18. Happy birthday America. We had ours 3 days ago, you didn't write or call, didn't even send a card! But no hard feelings, nothing a few beers can't fix.
  19. So, the dog recognized the gun and attacked? And its a level of force problem. If the cop feels that his life, or the life of another, is being threatened, that cop is justified in using lethal force. But it is hard to watch. Obviously the dog was just trying to protect its owner. There is no clear cut moral answer here. I'm sure the cops weren't out to murder a dog that day, and that dog was doing what it felt it had to do. A bunch of people bickering on a forum are not going to change what happened, all thats going to happen is that there will be misdirected anger everywhere. But, the internet being what it is, unleash the misdirected anger.
  20. Hey all, so I've had the FPM for a long time now, and love it. However, when I use an SUV or truck, it seems to randomly flip around when I get out of it and face a different direction. Anybody know anything about this?
  21. Da'fuq? Okay, maybe I should have hashtagged sarcasm... Sorry all. I, uhh... thought the refund thing was a dead give-away. Why is the internet such a confusing and scary place! Thank jebus (Be advised, I am mentioning the jebus as referred to in the Simpsons, I in no way intend to disrespect those who either worship the actual reference, or dislike the simpsons /enddisclaimer) there are no downvotes for this. I would like to translate my reference: We have not paid for anything, and this is all being done out of the kindness of the dev's heart, and we should not expect or demand such results for that which we have not invested or assisted in developing. Same team?
  22. Right?! These guys get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, the least they could do is give a release date! I'm debating just getting a refund. On a seperate note, this is the biggest douchebag comment on LCPDFR... Using the word "entitled" is blindingly pretentious.
  23. Ahh, what they lack in vision, they make up for in speed. Rule number one, stay in the car until they are out of theirs. But it does seem to be addressed in RC3.
  24. If we have learned anything from Simcity, its that waiting isn't necessarily all that bad. But, if you are upset at the time its taking, Im sure you can request a full refund of the purchase price. I was shocked when I bought FSX and found that every mod made was actually charging money (a lot of money). And those mods didn't do what ELS or LCPDFR do for GTA 4. Not even close. Patience is a virtue, m'friends.
