  1. This was for both fun and boredom....so uh...about that cookie... Thank you. It took me about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  2. While playing GTA V campaign, I've noticed many of the characters complaining that it's "...going to take hours" to go somewhere and X location is "...so far away". So I thought, if San Andreas was a real life place, how big would it be? Despite the fact I'm not a big fan of it, I've done the math. I hope I am at least relatively close to the correct answers. Here comes the oh-so-fun math. (Skip to the bottom if you want to avoid the hell of all this and just want the answer) Since the time and distance in the game is not resembling of the real world, I began with calculating how long 1 hour in-game is to real life then how long it would take to travel 1 mile @ 60 mph. The way I knew I was travelling at 60 mph was by utilizing the first person view in a vehicle. ALL DRIVING TIMES ARE AT 60 MPH; 60 MINUTES = 1 HOUR...make it easy and what not. 1 GTA hour = 2 RL minutes (RL is "Real Life" just so we're clear) Next, to go 0.50 GTA miles = 30 RL seconds travelling @ 60 mph which would mean 1 GTA mile = 30 GTA minutes = 1 RL minute. 2 GTA miles = 1 GTA hour So to put numbers into words: When you drive one mile @ 60 mph, 30 minutes has passed in the minds of the characters. "BUT!" you say, "What is the distance from the southern most tip of San Andreas (Los Santos International Airport) to the Northern most tip (Just north of Paleto Bay) of San Andreas? For this question I am ONLY counting the main land of San Andreas and NOT the small pieces of island just north of Paleto Bay. I've included west to east measurements but I'm not concerned with that. While viewing the map in-game, there is a legend measuring the distance across the state of San Andreas in feet. The distance I used was 3,305 ft to measure across the state while using a ruler. My T.V. is big and flat enough to where using a ruler wont interfere with accurate numbers. 3,305 ft on a ruler is 3.1 inches. (+/- 0.05 inches) Measuring the entire state north to south came out to APPROXIMATLY 40,486 ft 40,486 ft = 7.66 miles West to east = 24,787 ft = 4.69 miles If going 2 GTA miles = 1 GTA hour then 7 GTA miles = 3 1/2 GTA hours. Based on the time cycle relevant to the distance, I've calculated that the 0.66 miles that I left out would mean that the total time is about 3 hours 50 minutes. Numbers in to words again: Travelling from the southern most tip of San Andreas and driving in a STRAIGHT line to the northern most tip (not including the islands) would take 3 hours and 50 minutes while traveling at 60 mph. Since you would travel 60 miles driving at 60 mph, 3 hours 50 miutes would convert to 230 miles. San Andreas in real life = 230 miles north to south and would take 3.83 hours to travel @ 60 mph. = 90 miles east to west and would take 1.84 hours to travel @ 60 mph If any calculation are wrong let me know. None of the calculations are 100% accurate.
  3. I initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. As the driver was pulling over to the side of the road, he drove right in between two guard rails and off a cliff straight into the water.
  4. Now don't get too excited. I'm here to ask a question. Would it be possible to customize light patterns in the future through ELS vX or a mod of some sort? Don't get me wrong. ELS provides an extraordinary amount of light patterns that satisfies my 'shiny light syndrome' but, having the ability create a custom pattern will definitely help me create a realistic police car that mimics the local police cars around my area.
  5. My car in real life looks just like this grey one. Except I got a push bar. I'd like to own a 2012 Chevy Caprice PPV.
  6. I agree with you. If paperwork wouldn't be implemented, I would really like to see vehicle registration be put into the mod maybe even in GTA V. Like I said in my main post, it would be a good way to figure out if the vehicle is stolen.
  7. A topic that is not really talked about in the gaming community or even wanted in the real world is paperwork. Oh yes, I am going there girlfriend. I've noticed that many members of the community have a desire to bring added realism to this mod by suggesting the implementation of different player animations, police equipment and so on. Everyone seems to overlook the paperwork aspect of all this and I believe it is a great feature that can add that missing touch but of course as an OPTIONAL FEATURE. Based on the title of this you may be already knowing what's coming, actually writing tickets. When logging on to the computer there is the options of "Search Database", "Enable ANPR" and "Chat". "Write Ticket" (or something along the lines of that) should be added to the computer options. This would be where you would fill in the blanks. All the necessary fields to fill in would be there such as officer name/badge #, location, offence committed, name of subject that committed the offense, vehicle make/model, amount subject must pay (must be reasonable amount), date/time, etc. I must say that I don't know 90% of the make/ models of the cars in GTA IV so in addition to receiving the drivers name and date of birth, the officer should receive info of the vehicle in the form of vehicle registration (this would make it easier to identify if the vehicle is stolen). All this info would be displayed while writing the ticket. But of course, this should be an optional step in the traffic stop process and simply would exist for the realistic aspect. One more thought: this paperwork idea could be applied to when taking a suspect to jail and processing them. So there's my two cents. Remember, it's just a suggestion.
  8. Although, I don't I would be allowed to

I present thee with thine version of the Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Crown Victoria. Taking almost a week to accomplish, this the longest time I've spent compiling a model. I included an ELS .ini file to closely mimic the light pattern in the actual game. Also, I may try to add window tint to the car in the future to make the car look even more authentic. Please, let me know what you think.
  10. Thank you. I appreciate it.
  11. Calgary's Crown Victoria's, from what I have seen, only have a lightbar, wig-wags, and led hide-a-ways. I tried creating this model as realistic as possible. You can add wig-wags on your own in your ELS folder.
  12. I worked on the vehicle texture first, before working on the model thinking I was just going to only release the texture. The template for the texture ended up being compatible with this model.

After hours of pain and frustration, I have finally completed this Calgary Police Crown Victoria. This model I have compiled features the old paint scheme of Calgary's police vehicles. I tried creating this vehicle as close to the real thing as possible. Let me know what you think. Files Included: WTD / WFT File Screenshots
  13. Well that was easy. Thank you for the help.
  14. I am compiling a police car based off of my local police department using zmodeler. Well, before using zmodeler the texture on the car was high quality. Crystal clear. Once I exported it from zmodeler and installed the police vehicle into GTA IV, the quality of the texture has significantly degraded. I tried replacing the texture again in the .wtd file but with no luck. The texture is still low quality. Does anyone have any ideas to why this is happening or how to fix this issue?
