  1. @Cyan - You, sir, are awesome. That is all. Just a tip for other devs...don't just check to see if the version string = the version of the plugin thats running. You might get a false positive if you update the plugin, and someone runs it before the site cache has been updated. I'm pretty sure (99.9%) that you can parse the version number (if the format is correct) into a .NET Version object, and then compare it to the version of the plugin that is making the API call. That will definitely tell you if the version on the server is actually newer. If someone needs me to, I can post a code sample when I have some time.
  2. More Control V is a great plugin, but it has a bug in it whereby if you go too far from your vehicle (and hence it despawns), the plugin crashes. The most common way of this happening is if you get into a second vehicle, and leave your first one parked where it is. For example, I'll get out of my cruiser at a scene, with the doors locked. I'll get into a suspect vehicle, move it to the side of the road, with enough speed that the doors lock. I am now locked out of my police vehicle, and if I have either vehicle towed away, More Control crashes. I'll have to get you an excerpt from my log file (as well as the exact steps to re-produce this) next time I play, but I believe the exception is the same one that Pumpk1in posted.
  3. ^ +1. F5544 did a great job on the prototype PI sedan, but I can't drive it. I just don't like it compared to the 2013 version.
  4. Thanks...like I said, its not a high priority at all. Whenever you have a chance, there's no rush.
  5. Are there any additions or changes being made to the API in LSPDFR 0.3? I'm slowly working on an update to my callout plugin, but I'm not sure if I should be holding out for v0.3 or not. I realize this reply is late, but in my experience, it just seems to pick whatever file that partially matches the name you provide. For that reason, I had to name my audio files uniquely. For example, when searching for "DIV_1" in my callout plugin, it would find both "DIV_1" and "DIV_10", and it would pick a random one each time the clip was played. I didn't have any numbers above 10 for those files, but if I did, it may have found 11 or 12 as well. I ended up adding a leading zero to the single digit numbers.
  6. No problems here, but I've got a question that sort of relates. Is there any appetite to build some sort of mechanism into LCPDFR.com to check for updates to a plugin? (Not to download updates, but to simply check if there is a newer version available, and direct the user to download it themselves) I am not inclined whatsoever to set up and maintain an external server for something so minor, which is why I have not done anything like this yet. But if I could make a web request on startup that would make an API call to LCPDFR.com, I'd be for it. Not a high priority at all, since most players check regularly for updates to plugins, and its not something so crucial that people must have an update whenever its released. Maybe something that goes on the list of "things to be added sometime between now and later".
  7. If you use the "mods folder method" as suggested by the OpenIV team, you can turn that mechanism off, which would make GTA V load all of the vanilla RPF archives.
  8. So I was fiddling around with this issue last night: Its definitely not Windows UAC. I moved my GTA V folder out of Program Files, and the issue was still happening. I replaced (or thought I did) the vehicles.meta files I modified with the stock ones, and no go. I could have missed one though. Most of the vehicles this was happening with (or at least a couple I tried) were in x64e.rpf. I replaced this RPF with the stock one, and reinstalled my 'POLICE' CVPI. This didn't fix it either. I then removed the OpenIV ASI script; the one that loads all of the modded objects/vehicles on startup, basically making my GTA V install almost completely stock/vanilla. When I did this, the issue went away. I suspect that something has gotten corrupted in one of the RPF archives, and is causing this problem. I may have to ultimately reinstall all of my mods from scratch. I don't have a whole ton of vehicle mods installed, but its still going to be a pain. One thing I did not do was completely remove all of the standalone vehicles that I have...probably would have been a good idea, but it was getting late, and I had to get up early for work. I don't have a lot of standalone vehicles though...in fact, I think I only have like two. Those would be the custom Coroner speedo van, and the LAPD Ford Explorer. I don't remember if I had the Explorer before reinstalling Windows 10, but I don't think I did. The coroner van though, I've had for a while, and I don't ever recall this issue happening before. So either I installed that Explorer incorrectly when I tried to make it a standalone vehicle, or something else is causing this. Either way, its probably going to involve me taking 3 hours to reinstall everything. What fun! /sarcasm @forsakenbacon17, let me know if you're able to make any headway with this.
  9. So I was talking to someone about this...and I think I know what the issue might be. I don't think its Windows UAC at all...UAC only restricts write permissions to Program Files, but you should be able to read without any issues. Not to mention the fact that I run GTA V and RPH with Admin rights, so UAC should never come into the picture. Do you guys have added/standalone vehicles installed? Because I do, and I don't think I did it properly. I think the game is having issues reading the vehicles.meta files. But I'll have to reverse my meta file changes and see if that fixes it...probably won't be able to get it to it until later this week though.
  10. Another thing I get is, I can't seem to drag and drop files with OpenIV. If I drag and drop a file, it looks like the file was replaced, but it never actually gets replaced. I always have to right click, click Add, select the files, and then they get added/replaced into the RPF that I have open. Dragging and dropping them NEVER actually replaces them. Again, this issue has only started happening since the re-format. I suspect it may be because I have GTA V installed under C:\Program Files (I have the retail version, not Steam), which it wasn't before. The reason it is now is because I wanted GTA V on my new SSD. I think I might try moving it to a different directory and seeing if both these problems persist. Windows restricts applications from writing to C:\Program Files, as part of User Account Control. So I suspect that is whats happening here. Not sure though.
  11. Hey all, Ever since I reinstalled GTA V (I installed a new hard drive in my laptop and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10), almost all of the car model names in my plugins appear as hashes, not the name. It happens in EVERY plugin...Speed radar, Police Radio, my callouts, you name it. Instead of a notification saying "The suspect vehicle is a black Buffalo", it will say something like "a black 0xeee4dfd" (Thats not a real hash, but you get the idea) It appears to be random each time, but I'm going to pay closer attention to it now. I am running the latest version of GTA V, and the latest RPH. No blocked DLL's to my knowledge, and the EXE's all have Admin rights. I did a fresh install of GTA V, except instead of letting it download 60GB, I copied my GTA V folder from my old hard drive. So nothing has changed. Any ideas?
  12. I've been busy with work lately, and I've been a victim of flu season too. However, I am running the latest updates, and haven't had any crashing after updating to the latest versions of Arrest Manager, Traffic Policer, and Police Radio. After updating to the latest version of GTA, and RPH 28, I was getting some game crashes until I updated those 3 plugins. Code 3 Callouts hasn't given me any issues. That being said, I hope to have an update sometime soon.
  13. There is no update for the mod itself. I just updated the description.
  14. ** NOTE REGARDING RPH CRASHES ** If your GTA V crashes to the desktop, and RPH says that the crash was most likely caused by Keep Calm...to put it simply, it most likely was not caused by Keep Calm. RPH tries to detect which plugin caused the crash by calculating which plugin was running at the time of the crash. Keep Calm runs constantly in the background, so naturally, RPH will think that Keep Calm is the culprit whenever you have a game crash. GTA V can CTD for any number of reasons. Keep Calm does not do anything heavy enough to cause a game crash...I am not saying that it will never happen, but it has never happened in the history of Keep Calm's development. Anyone who has reported a CTD crash so far has had their issues stemming from elsewhere. If you get an RPH crash that says Keep Calm was the cause, try un-installing Keep Calm, or disabling it from starting in the RPH settings. If the crashes persist, your issues are being caused by something else. If the crashes go away, then re-install Keep Calm by downloading the latest release from LCPDFR.com. If the crashes then return, we need to diagnose the issue further, and you should post a comment here (or in the forum topic) so we can look into it.
  15. RPH thinks its Keep Calm, because it tries to figure out which plugin was running at the time of the crash. Keep Calm runs continuously in the background, so naturally RPH thinks that the crash was caused by Keep Calm. Your issues are most likely stemming from something else. Keep Calm does not do anything heavy enough that would likely cause a CTD...now of course, anything is possible, so I am not going to sit here and say "My plugin is perfect". If your game is really crashing that often, then try uninstalling the plugin. If you still get crashing, then you know the issue is somewhere else. If the crashing stops, then install it again, and see if the crashing resumes. Not a helpful statement without any log files. If you're having the same issue as fsjoedog, the cause is most likely not Keep Calm, even if RPH says that it is. What Kilyin said. Also, your LSPDFR crashes are not being caused by Keep Calm. Notice the Keep Calm errors are happening every 10 seconds, not every 10 minutes. You don't have the correct Common DLL, which is causing Keep Calm to not work, but it has enough error handling in the code that it doesn't crash the plugin or the game. It just aborts, and tries again on the next pass, but it also logs the error. You need to look at the rest of your log file to see what caused the LSPDFR crash.
  16. Damn, nice idea. I totally forgot about SimCopter! I used to play that game for HOURS on end! If you want to turn this into a team project, we can set up a TFS project on Visual Studio Online. EDIT: The biggest hurdle (or one of) you're probably going to run into is LSPDFR sending you callouts that are meant for ground units. A player in the helicopter may have to wait a long time for an air support callout. And vice versa too...you'll get ground units being dispatched to mountain rescues. Although that one is easy to overcome, actually. Just abort the callout (i.e. don't display it to the user) if the player is not in the Maverick.
  17. We are at the max number of users that TFS allows (on the free plan, anyway), but thanks for the offer.
  18. Typically, yes, that is the general rule of thumb. Try disabling Traffic Control from loading, and see if it still crashes.
  19. I don't see any errors in your log. The plugin doesn't do anything on startup, so your issues might be stemming from something else.
  20. This does not work for me. The car almost always spawns as a slicktop, even with EXTRA_2 marked as required.
  21. Completely unintended, lol. I may have to actually build it in there as a potential possibility, haha.
  22. While it looks awesome, you can tell it's still a work in progress. Notice how none of the AI vehicles yield for the lights and siren.
  23. Awesome idea. In fact, I regret that I didn't see your suggestion thread. If I had, I might have taken care of it, haha. I think it looks great, judging from the video. The only thing I might suggest is make the dispatch audio a bit more detailed. Like, instead of the dispatcher saying "Backup required", she can say "We have an officer requesting assistance". And then instead of "Respond Code 3", its a little more serious, because its an officer's panic alarm, so she should say "Code 99, All Units Respond". Not a big deal, its just me being OCD about the semantics, haha. Great work!
  24. I believe @LtMattJeter is working on one.
