I have no idea how difficult this would be but it would be cool if someone can edit the animation for selecting guns. It may be possible to keep most of the animation process as it is, but shift the hand positions to the right more. It's pretty unrealistic for a cop to pull a gun out of his rib cage. Another cool idea: pull a gun from the back of your pants gangster style (like the ballas in GTA V) for those who don't play LCPD:FR.

I've had a similar problem with windows 7. When you open the task manager go to the "processes" tab, scroll down until you find the GTAIV.exe or something, click on it then click "end process" This gets rid of it every time for me. EDIT: Never mind, i just read the rest of the posts. The task manager always opens on top of everything else for me so i don't have to alt+tab.

Australian police vehicles would fit in very well with GTA V's graphics. The thing i am looking foward to the most is patrolling the Senora desert in a Holden SS Commodore set up like this: (but on the newer VE model like GTA IV) Or this: (but on the series II with hubcaps)

I'm not gonna lie, that is a sexy car! the only reason I didn't post a VF Commo is because i hate those tail light with a passion. they ruin the whole car.

Every car I've downloaded so far can use the ELSv8 Coronas. I think they have something to do with the light dummies or whatever (I'm not a modeler). So as long as a vehicle has headlights, taillights, indicators and reversing lights you should be able to use them. Only the takedown coronas depend on how the model was set up.

I doubt LtCaine will pay any attention to this but i want to thow this idea out there anyway. I would like to cycle through secondary lighting similar to how we select primary lighting stages. Secondary lighting (pressing K) 1st press = saved pattern 1 (eg Traffic advisor left) 2nd press = saved pattern 2 (eg Traffic advisor right) 3rd press = saved pattern 3 (this is the main pattern and activates by default when "J" is pressed for each stage) When on a traffic stop, activate your chosen lighting stage (stg 2 for example) then simply press "K" or "Alt+K" to select any of the 3 saved patterns. This way we don't sit there for 5min finding the right one.

I usually "borrow" the first vehicle i see on the street... because who can afford to buy a car these days. If i don't feel like LCPDFR i usually try to navigate the streets in a bus while using the first person mod

I'm thinking either a Code 3 Mastercom or Whelen 295. I'm not American so i have no idea honestly. I am just guessing from sirens I've used in GTA.

I still respond to some callouts like homless people causing a disturbance, suspicious vehicle and a few others but it depends on the area i am patrolling at the time. Anything that can be done with a taser and is within a few streets away. There is a lot more variety if you patrol large areas like the airport or the industrial areas in alderney. I thought that bugs or caine might have released an unlocked 03-05 impala by now. I personally love that model but any car between '98 and '06 that isn't a CVPI will do for me. A car that looks modern but would costs less than $10,000 in real life.

This is just a little suggestion to add something a bit different to LCPD:FR gameplay. Have you ever wanted to just relax? Cruise around and do what you want without getting frustrated by pursuits and broken callouts. I've been doing this lately and I found that it was a welcome change from the pursuits and getting shot at every 10 seconds and thats where i came up with this idea. I would love to see a "low budget" security company with older vehicles, cheep lighting equipment and basic designs. As a security patrol vehicle I would like to se a 2003-2005 Impala with the following setup. -An all amber drot enabled FS areodynic similar to the one used on the classic LAPD car models by Kinksta. -or- an all amber/white drot enabled FS Vision/Vector. -2 Small side facing floodlights set as takedowns -A Police spotlight on the drivers side mirror. -A Basic 2way radio, plastic cable tie hand cuff things and a folder or something on the inside. -A Cage or mesh for prisoner transport (or to detain someone while the cops arrive) -A nice chunky black antenna on the boot/trunk As an armed guard vehicle I'm thinking a chevy step van or generic GTA boxville... -FS Areodynic as stated above. -3 small roof mounted floodlights: 2 side and 1 rear facing -A basic traffic advisor on the back (just above the doors), to act as a rear light bar. -A cage with a few shotguns, seats and some riot gear in the back -A basic 2way radio in the front And some peds to match. Maybe the LSPD cop model and the default armed security guard with new and basic uniforms I am more than happy to make the vehicle textures and uniforms if anyone decides to do this! I like the idea of the character switch but i would change it up a bit. How about a city cop, sheriff and tactical responce as the three options. If you begin a pursuit in Los Santos but the criminal leaves the city you have to switch to the sheriff unit and catch up to the pursuit again. As for the tactical responce unit though, you can choose to switch to this highly trained and well equipped person for dangerous callouts like a drug deal or shots fired. During the LSPD:FR character selection we can customise all three of them. As a twist, if one of these three officers gets killed he becomes "blocked out" and you can't use him again for 5 or 10 minutes. I think this would add another level of realism of the mod while still allowing the freedom we currently know and love.

Hey. This isn't really a support topic, more like a question... Is there a way to check the env. lighting positions without restarting the game every time? I'm getting frustrated with loading the game only to find out that one of the lights is out by 0.1 of a whatever the measurement is. I play LCPDFR a lot at night and I go for all out roleplay and realism, everything from uniforms to environment lighting. I make up a new config with custom light coordinates every time I install a new car because no one els seems to care about this when they release their models. I really wish more people would take the extra 10 minutes to set these up properly.

I love his mod and i'm really looking foward to the update. Could you make it so the sky stays dark until at least 5am though? At the moment the eastern sky starts to get bright at about 1am. That seems rather unrealistic to me. Everything else looks great though!

If you mean messed up as in the ELS extra thingy is floating in mid air then there is no fix that i know of. I've installed a few cars where the secondaries or wig wags have done this.

I was referring to how ELSv6 cycles through patterns, starting with A-00 to A-07 then B-00 to B07 then C-00 and so on. The origional post looked to me like he/she was wondering why it was stuck on "E" and not changing through the letters like that.

I assume you are used to ELS version 6 where the primary patterns change the letter after every few patterns. ELSv7 and v8 just use one letter for each lighting type. for example... E-00 to E-96 is for any LED patterns. this contains every pattern in the old ELSv6 layout and many many more. S-00 to S-whatever is for any strobes patterns. (change from "leds" to "strb" in the config file) R-00 to R-05 is for any ELS-H patterns (this it for "rota" in the config) secondaries are the same but there is also M-00 and C-00. C is for directional patterns ("drct" in the config)- these are your normal ELSv6 styled patterns M is for marquee or message board options. ("marq" in the config) Hope this helps a little.
