  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of the "Support Officer Darren Wilson" protests became city-wide riots, or actually had any problems at all. The people who started attacking cops and burning cars and buildings were people from the crowds of "peaceful protestors" Yes, yes it is fair. If I punch a cop cause I'm angry my sister died it's still a crime, and its logical for me not to punch him. Just because these idiots rioting are angry doesn't justify unleashing on anything. It's better they unleash on riot cops than patrol cops, because riot cops are there for dealing with such idiots and are equipped to do so
  2. Yes, I'm sure sending some cops in patrol cars would have been a brilliant idea. Absolutely perfect plan. You'd only end with, oh I don't know, a few beaten up injured cops and destroyed cop cars. Yeah. And you know what the general public would have said if asked about their opinion on it? "Oh, the police should have been more proactive and aware of the situation they were handling and sent more armoured units to deal with it instead" The general public will never be happy, they wouldn't give a shit if a cop was beaten to death at a "peaceful protest", and would just say "should have sent armoured units"
  3. I was wondering this too. It.d be interesting to see if the mod uses the interiors opened by the Open all Interiors mod, or does something similar to it, including doing things with the GTA Online police station. It'd be nice to see some more mundane calls, like a traffic collision that we have to block the road at and wait until it's been cleared, respond to the scene of a fire etc
  4. Could you give a more detailed, step by step guide to making the dispatch.meta file compatible with other mods that change that file? I'm afraid I don't understand it at all.
  5. I would think that the reason you don't have massive armoured trucks responding to riots is because Sweden isn't used to such violent and common riots, or such common shootings or Huh crime rates, so have less high grade equipment to deal with such situations. I do remember seeing heavily armoured Swedish Police APC's though
  6. It's a nice thought, less violence, world peace. It'll never happen because as long as there are two people on earth, someones gonna want someone dead. Only when a single human walks the earth will there be peace
  7. I can't agree more on this. You've said it very well. Not one of the cops out there wants to be beating people, pushing them back, having abuse and rocks hurled at them. But they have a duty to protect and serve, so they go out there anyway. We should not allow people to decrease the safety of officers against ruthless criminals. They are criminals for a reason, is the world starting to try stand for those who break the law and those who want nothing but anarchy until they get what they want? I hope not. The police response to the riots is completely justified. Let's remember, these "peaceful protestors" are the ones cutting the water hose to fire trucks, attacking firefighters, blocking in cop cars, ambulances and Fire trucks to stop them responding to emergencies and saving LIVES. They don't care, they do what they want. So they should be dispersed by Police and punished accordingly.
  8. NOOSE will be having words
  9. I believe Sam already stated somewhere that major updates if any to LCPDFR would be "unlikely"
  10. The only problem about using a trainer to reset the skin is that it doesn't clean the skin, just remakes it, so you have to change the appearance again, give back your armour and then all the weapons are gone. Maybe if it was possible to quickly reacquire the service weapons instead of every weapon in the game
  11. Sam, I was wondering about when the player gets shot and had blood + bullet holes on his body. Is it possible that LSPDFR would have a way to sort of "clean" or "reset" the skin? Another problem is first person accessories like hats and glasses glitching in first person view
  12. The fact that they appear to have used new interiors to do things makes me even more excited. We know the screenshot with the granger is in a new garage, and also has a lot of action going on in it too! I'm excited to see if they use the police station interior from GTA Online, maybe even use parts of the GTA Online character selection place [some sort of LSPD Lineup and stuff] too!
  13. I'm pretty sure it's not, from the looks of it. That's outside the Mission Row LSPD station I think, and the billboard in the background did "Credit Kings" is definitely a GTA V thing
  14. This is not the case. Protestors begin disrupting the peace and acting out of line, acting unlawfully. Now, the police officer's creed states that "By law I cannot walk away." This is true, by law a police officer cannot let a lawbreaker go if he is present to see the crime or has sufficient evidence, unless ordered to let them go by higher ups. Police officers are obliged to arrest these lawbreakers, and since a large majority of those in these protests can't understand the simple idea of not breaking the law, they start attacking cops, destroying property, etc. The police are completely justified in their actions in this regard. Cops don't violentky detain someone unless they resist, which they do, and suddenly the crowd of idiots who can't keep in their pent up frustration start swarming and attacking cops, so cops respond with quick use of force and calls for backup, because they very well fear for their lives. Not when it is entirely useless and when the term "civil disobedience" gets used as a way to justify attacking cops and destroying property, no. Civil Disobedience is generally illegal, that's the point of it. People can't sem to understand that they need to take responsibility for their actions
  15. I gotta say, this screenshot excites me the most. I can see what appears to be a vehicle selection screen in some underground car park, an LSPD Transport Van to the right, an LSPD Stanier to the left and an officer seemingly taking a suspect out of it. It's so new, fresh looking, so smooth looking!
  16. I don't think you'd need to make adjustments to every model, just the cops at least, or maybe the fix is different and requires some other coding. For those who like first person it is a pretty major annoying bug. Another problem, minor but would be nice to have fixed, is walking in first person. For example, when you hold W in the third person, you walk. When you hold W in first person, you jog. If this could be changed so you can walk in first person, that would be brilliant.
  17. I think you need to realise that while it is your right to go out and protest, you cannot simply gather a large group and March down the freeway or into any area. Appropriate authorities must be notified of the protest, otherwise it will be deemed an illegal gathering and dispersed with force if necessary. It's been said already, everyone's all up about their rights, but few actually know them
  18. The glasses and hat thing is a big deal though. If you decide to play a highway patrol officer, the helmet you put on when you get on a bike will be glitchy and block your view, and any other glasses or hat will glitch your view for other police officer peds when in first person
  19. I've been wondering if this is possible. One thing that bugs me in GTA V is when you get shot or in a bad accident, you have bullet holes and blood on your player, and then only way to rid of it is change cop skin back, or wait ages for it to go. Would there be a way for us to get rid of this annoying situation by hitting a key, or perhaps the bullet holes and blood going away when we get healed by a health pack or something? Another annoying thing is when our ped wears a hat, glasses or helmet, the hat helmet or glasses do not do the same as they would on Michael or another main character, in first person they instead block our view and are just buggy, hovering on our screens. Is this fixable?
  20. Very nice! Is it possible to stop the LSPD spawning in the boat when in the LSPD Waterspace, as unless a Police Predator is patrolling, LSPD cops will spawn inside it and respond when in the LS area. It would be great to only have Coast Guard respond in the water. Forgive me, I have no idea on modding so I am not aware if any of this is possible. Another idea would be to have the LSPD Police predator spawn with regular skin and LSPD Officers in the LS area, but when Coast Guard respond they have the Police Predator with the Coast Guard skin. If that is possible, maybe a Coast Guard variant of the Police Helicopter would be possible, that could respond after a while of chasing the player at sea
  21. NOOSE is a government agency in GTA V, a mix of the real life National Security Agency, Department of Homeland Security and general SWAT teams, they are not considered Military. Military would be those found at Fort Zancudo. NOOSE are much more GTA's SWAT, as seen on the Police Riot, it says "LSPD NOOSE" which may imply police departments have their own NOOSE branch as somewhat of a SWAT team. There is also a NOOSE station at the LSIA Airport. NOOSE backup would likely consist of Police Riots or FIB SUV's filled with tactical officers.

  23. Think about it like this. A nice event is going on, maybe a famous person visiting somewhere. Place gets shot at/bombed and people die, there was low security at the event. These protests are similar, they started peacefully then became riots, smashing cop cars and property, attacking cops. So the next time this event takes place, this theoretical famous visit, there is higher security, preventing a bombing or shooting or attack. Due to tight security it either doesn't happen again or its contained when it happens. Now, protests have had normal police response, and ended violent and couldn't be contained easily. Since this is a common problem police send riot police to contain the now very likely threat of a dangerous riot. It's completely justifiable and has led to successful containment of riots. Those who say that sending riot police sparked riots are talking bullshit, because they rioted against less armoured cops long before they started sending riot officers
  24. The public do not control what they do, and should not. Police are given training specifically so they know what to do and when to do it. By giving the civilians the power to dictate what every officer does as his duty is insane, as policing can not be controlled properly by people who know nothing about it. The education system can't be run by those who know nothing about it, neither can the economy, and so on. The police should not be thrown into extra risk by unintelligent civilians who know nothing about law enforcement. Police are professionals in what they do, they go to academy to learn about how to be a cop, and walk the streets endangering their lives for people they don't know. Civilians on the other hand, have no police training or education, and can't be relied to select what tactics police use simply because they don't agree. Don't like the tactics? Boohoo, they're effective and they save lives, and anybody who would think that endangering the lives of officers further is an absolutely disrespectful fool. Approximately one police officer dies every 58 hours according to statistics from the Officer Down Memorial page. This does not need to become worse because some stupid civilian who knows nothing about law enforcement decides he doesn't like the tactics used by law enforcement. He is not the one risking his life, he is not the one under pressure, he is not being shot at, he is not making split second decisions and he is not the one protecting and serving others. Let the professionals run the police. Just because it's a democracy does not mean the general civilian population should have the ability to change any little thing about anything, it's outrageous to think they should be allowed freely increase the risk of death for officers, and then not have to take responsibility when a dedicated and devoted officer of the law dies at the hand of a criminal in possession of a high quality firearm who doesn't give a shit who he shoots. The police are trained in tactics and they make new, more effective tactics all the time and put them into practice. Civilians who know nothing about being in a shootout should not be given the ability to make up tactics when they know nothing about it.
