  1. It's been about a month since I've posted another forum game. As usual, this game was very popular on another forum, so I thought I'd share it on this one as well. I will continue to post forum games in large increments of time until the community gets bored with them, or otherwise instructed by a moderator. This is a simple game, and there aren't many rules to it aside from common sense. I've also linked another forum where the game has taken place. The object of the game, is to say something to take the hill from whoever controls it. Whatever you type must end with "My hill" or something along the lines of you now controlling the hill. I'll write a small example below; Sam: I was born on the hill, my hill. James: I snipe you, my hill. Sarah: I'm a girl, my hill. Of course this being an example, there was no effort of creativity in the above post. So, let's see if anyone participates in the game shall we. I'll start it off. I walk to the top of the hill, my hill. Link to forum: http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/en/forum/showthread.php?tid=145410
  2. You say that people talk you down from your hopes and dreams. I think I can see why at this point. +1
  3. Oh, I know a great doctor that can help you with the pain. If you need the contact info let me know.
  4. Because the truth hurts? I don't know.
  5. I was using medication as a quick example. I honestly have no clue about anything related to drugs or medicine, other than the fact that it stops a stomach ache lol.
  6. Very thoughtful of you. Hispanic Heritage month is one of the most ignored celebrations in America. 12+ million people could probably explain to you why that is, but that's going off-topic.
  7. I meant technology in general, not necessarily militaristic technology. The United States does have the best military technology on Earth. While Japan has the best technology in other areas, like medication I would guess.
  8. The least of my fears is being killed by a terrorist attack. Hell, I fear about slipping in the shower more than being killed by a bunch of idiots in rags, using outdated weapons and trashy armor left behind by the US. The United States won't ever be defeated by any outside power. It just won't, simply not possible. The United States can easily be called the most powerful nation on Earth. The second best technology(Japan) The best military with by far the most military spending The most active nuclear warheads(Russia has the most warheads altogether) The best economy in the world, believe it or not The third largest population(China, India) The Seventh wealthiest country in the world(Only one European country is more wealthy) Even with all of these factors, the United States isn't invincible. However, it would take a LOT to win a war against it. America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. Abraham Lincoln Just because something is quoted, doesn't mean that it's true. Don't make that assumption, that I believe that if something is quoted, it's true. I don't think of any of the 3 Abrahamic religions -- Judaism, Christianity or Islam -- as religions of peace. All 3 are historically somewhat unusual in worshipping only 1 God, and insisting that this God alone is the "true" one. In theory, Christianity should be more of a "religion of peace" than the other 2, because of what Jesus said in the Gospels about loving one's enemies, the peacemakers being children of God, those who live by the sword shall die by the sword, etc. But in practice, Christianity or what passes for it has been used, mostly by white Europeans, as an excuse for using military force to create great military empires. Islam was apparently even more warlike in the first century and a half following the death of the Prophet, when Muslim armies conquered virtually all of the old Persian / Parthian empire, took the Middle East and North Africa from Christian Byzantium, and conquered most of Spain before making an ambitious incursion into southern France. In the view of some historians, the immense aggression that Christian Europe engaged in during the Crusades was basically a defensive reaction to Muslim encirclement. But in any case Christians did go out on violent crusades, and some historians believe it was the Crusading impulse that continued to inspire the Spanish conquistadores as they conquered the New World, mostly through organized violence -- although accidentally introduced European diseases also played a big role in the Aztec & Incan collapse. Judaism in practice has been less warlike or at least less successfully warlike than Christianity or Islam, probably because Judaism is a partly tribalistic religion that doesn't focus on missionary work and the winning of converts the way the 2 other Abrahamic religions do. Nevertheless, parts of the Jewish Law can be interpreted as advocating religious genocide against the Canaanites, the Amalekites, etc. etc., and modern Israel today has one of the planet's most powerful & efficient armies. So to answer your question -- I don't think Islam is necessarily peaceful; I think often it's quite warlike. Ditto Christianity and Judaism. However, Islam has inspired a great civilization, and in certain times & places it probably has brought about a surprising amount of peace, in large part through military conquest.
  9. Islam is actually one of the most violent and radical religions in existence to date. Every other religion, currently has a problem with Islam, from Christians to Buddhists. The Quran orders Muslims to either enslave or kill those who refuse to worship Allah. The Muslim holy book does not teach love, but hate. Faithful Muslims are directed to kill the 'infidels.' In the terminology of Islam, infidels are Jews, Christians and non-Muslims in general The following are a few of the violent passages found within the Quran: "Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you." (Sura 9:122) "make war on the leaders of unbelief..." (Sura 9:12) "Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]...until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued." (Surah 9:27-) "Slay them wherever you find them...Idolatry is worse than carnage...Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme." (Surah 2:190-) "Fighting is obligatory for you, much as you dislike it." (Surah 2:216) "Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends." (Surah 5:51) "Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God's religion shall reign supreme." (Surah 8:36-) And let's not forget the Hadith which says: "And the Jews will hide behind the rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'O Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him
  10. Simply isn't possible. These planes would be shot down before they even came close to the coast of the United States. If this were a real concern, action would have already been taken in preventing an incident like this from occurring. With the combined forces of the coalition in Afghanistan fighting the ISIS, I'm sure we'd whoop them pretty bad. American forces alone out-number and out-power the ISIS. In my opinion, Islam is the problem. These extremists are everywhere, from Nigeria to Iraq. In the Qu'ran, Allah is ordering Muslims to attack anyone who isn't Muslim. The objective is to scare and frighten people into doing good. This is why they are targeting the west. They feel like we've all "sinned", and are trying to destroy us. Every Islamic Extremist group is saying that if the United States gets rid of it's ways, it won't be a target anymore. Those "ways", being to drop everything and convert to Islam. Want sources, look it up yourself. I'm not going to post random websites, when you can Google the information and check the facts yourself.
  11. Well I was told by my cousin, who's an ex-K9 officer for the Fairfax County Police Department. Now unless he straight up lied to me about what happened, which I highly doubt, he's my only source of information on that actual incident. Like you said, it has to be on the news within the next couple of days. It wouldn't make any sense for it to not be on the news. Then again, the media is probably going to ignore a story making cops look good, but try to get their hands on a story where they look bad ASAP. I can easily confirm that there was indeed gunfire, helicopters, and tons of sirens. I do hope they show it on the news, I'm very curious as to what happened, and I'd like a better guarantee than my cousin.
  12. If you Google Virginia, Alexandria City, or Fairfax County. I don't see anything on the news. A bit weird, seems like a pretty serious incident.
  13. Thanks for all the help and useful tips everyone! Turns out that there were serial robbers or something on the loose. All 5 suspects were killed, and no officers were harmed or injured. This seems like a pretty big event. I doubt that It would make national headlines, but I could be wrong. Might be on the news or something. Well, I don't see a point to this topic existing anymore, so if a moderator could please close this topic. If not, well then alright.
  14. So, I've been hearing gunfire and sirens for about thirty minutes now, and I'm starting to become a bit afraid that something serious is going on, and that the Police are having a bit of trouble keeping the peace. I don't live in any ghetto trashy neighborhood. In fact, the neighborhood is actually more of an upper wealth neighborhood. The gunfire sounds almost as if it's right down the road a bit. I can't see any Police cars, but I can hear the sirens and gunfire. I also noticed that there are 3 Police helicopters in the sky, all using their spotlights and they're very far apart. Earlier, some officers were going door to door telling everyone to remain at home and keep away from the windows and doors until further notice. I'm not sitting here crying, but I am a bit worried. Judging by what little and broken information I've described above, what do you think could be going on? There's obviously some sort of shootout happening.
  15. Great job there buddy. I can defuse that bomb ;). Please boss.... trust me...

  17. I hope it gets released within the next two years. If not, I'll probably never be able to experience LSPD:FR. I'll be off in the US Army :(.
  18. Why does it bug you to the point where you'd leave a response for that? I'll call it whatever I want to call it, and you'll just have to deal with it. Don't like it, get over it, or block me. Simple as that, I couldn't care any less.
  19. Yep, if LSPD:FR does release, I may just keep it Vanilla. I'm more of a Lore type of guy, so I'd choose the Grove Street Families. Sort of that resurrection and redemption type of scenario. After the gang dies, it rises back into power and is again the most powerful gang in all of Los Santos.
  20. Especially with Franklin having some sort of relation with the dead, Grove Street Families. Back in GTA SA, you play as CJ. He's considered a "high ranking" member of the gang, and you play through the rise and fall of the GSF. If LSPD:FR does release, It's going to be an entirely new and better experience. Just looking at the actions of the AI officers in story mode, you I can tell that the AI has been vastly improved. This will be in our favor if LSPD:FR does release. Not only do the AI cops pit suspects, but they also follow the suspect in an assembly line. They don't pile up and push each other off the road.
