Slow Textures Loading

Featured Replies

I have a good computer, but the textures such as buildings, lamp posts, trees, take too long to load up. I usually have to set my screen at a specific part for about... 6 seconds for all the details of the buildings and trees to load up. And if I look back, all the textures behind me are gone. They must be reloaded again. All my graphic settings are at max. Any ideas how to fix this?

Processor: Intel i7 4700MQ

Graphic Card: Nvidia GeForce 755M 2GB

Ram: 8.0 GB

Hard Drive: 1TB

I have the same problem to with EFLC,my games starts off good,but after 5 to 10mins It starts to get textures lost. I even have an COMMANDLINE  in, witch does not help at all.

I Think it's l.0 that does it, I did not have this problem with 0.95

Try to create a file called commandline.txt in your GTA IV directory and enter the following information:

-novblank -norestrictions -percentvidmem 100 -novsync -frameLimit 0 -nomemrestrict

Let me know if that works.

You may be right, have you noticed that the lcpdfr.ini in the 0.95 version has "PreloadallTextures=True" or something similar to that? Well, the 1.0 version does not. I will try adding that line into the ini. It just MIGHT work :D

I have installed 1.0, and added the line. And it may have solved all of my problems, it worked and I'm not getting much textures loss at all.

To add the preload all models thing, Open up your LCPDFR.ini, look under "Main", it should look something like this by default:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False

Now, add to the bottom of that part

PreloadAllModels=True
The "Main" part should now look like this:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False
PreloadAllModels=True
