I used to play GTA IV on a similar laptop setup, Core i3 @2.40Ghz with 3GB memory and an integrated Intel HD Graphics (768MB). I expended a lot of time working on the game optimization and getting it's best possible performance with not much lost visual experience. What you can do to gain many fps: -Use EditIV to modify the timecyc.dat file to change the view distance: once you executed EditIV and timcyc.dat is opened (gtaiv/pc/data), go to the "Visual Effects" tab and change Misc/Far Clip to 350/400, then under that box, change Fog Start to 80/90, do this for EVERY weather and EVERY time (you can mark all). Less value = more fps but less view distance (Back up your timecyc.dat) -Use OpenIV to remove tree textures (they REALLY demand CPU usage): Once executed, go and open pc/data/maps/props/ext_veg.img (of course back up this file if you don't like how the trees look now) and remove everything but the collision file (.col) if you don't want to go across the tree stick. Rebuild the file (file, rebuild... duhh xD) -Use EDGE v2.6. It's a pack of optimized files that you need to replace, back up your all original ones or directly the whole folders cause they're a lot. -Remove as much cars as you can. Use OpenIV and browse pc/models/cdimages/vehicles.img and simply delete the .wtd and .wft files from the cars you will never use or you don't like to see, rebuild the file.Then go to common/data/cargrp.dat and just delete every car name you just deleted from vehicles.img with OpenIV. -Search "gta iv gtxd.img fps improve" on Google and get that file, replace it. Ok, these are the logical ways to improve the game performance, by optimizing and sacrificing some things... Also defrag your HDD :P I hope this help, cya!

What you mean with arms that go up or no? That only enables or disables the ELS-enabled cars to be used in game and allows you to create a custom lightning patern for a specific lightbar and ambient light color reflections. You're very welcome...

MainGTAIVFolder/ELS/_SLOTCONTROL.ini, open it and change the lines as mentioned only if the car is a non-ELS enabled model. Example: [ POLICE ] Status = off (OFF for non els models, ON for els enabled models) File = default_config (this is the filename for a custom light patern /colors, leave alone if car lightning is correct) Also check if that car comes with a provided .ini file for ELS, if so, put it in the same folder as _SLOTCONTROL.ini, then open again _SLOTCONTROL.ini and rename the "File = default_config" line changing the "default_config" to the .ini filename from the car you downloaded (whitout the .ini). Wierd. That mostly happens when it's a non-ELS enabled model and it's turned on for ELS, in that case just switch the line "Status = on" to "Status = off" for your police car under the _SLOTCONTROL.ini file. But the download page says it's actually an ELS enabled car, so I guess you missed some config there.

I will buy it even if my PC can't run the game icon... No, really really hope my PC can handle it at least on mid-low settings, I can't wait for it's release

I just made some changes on my game and it seems to be fine now, no more crashes at the moment. I deleted the following scrips and mods: APR, Speed Control, Simple Fuel, Route 66 (now clean images.txt and gta.dat), two cop ped mods (clean pedVariations.dat) and 3 real cars (new cleanest handling.dat and rebuilt vehicles.img too), I also removed them from parking spots and resaved the game. I hope this could be useful for some people too. Greetings :)

Thanks for your reply, Couthink4. I know I have more chances to crash if more mods working together, that's because I need to know which mod/script is or isn't friendly with other I have installed, I know it's hard to know about this but maybe someone can tell me :) Thanks again.

So that's it. My game eventually crashes after playing some minutes, sometimes after 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes and no matter what I'm doing (if using LCPD:FR or playing randomly). So I need to know which mod is generating this issue. I have different error messajes when it crashes... no clue about this and maybe someone can tell me if some mod interferes with other or it's known conflictive for the game. I'm obviously using patch 1.0.7.0 and my currently installed mods and scripts are: - LCPD:FR 1.0c - ELS V8 - First Person script v1.1 - Flashlight 4 Weapons v2.0 by metalwars - TrafficLoad by ikt - Automatic Plate Reader Script v2.0 by Kit - Simple Fuel Mod v1.5 by endosan - Indicator script v1.0 - IVDashCam v2.2.1 - vdH Police Helper 1.2.1b + vdHTowService - vdH Police Station - Broker v1.0 - VehicleSpeedControl v2.0 - WalkingDead, RUN! v1.5 - Simple Native Trainer v6.5 - Route 66 by nine30 - EDGE v2.6 - 7 real cars installed with OpenIV, and obviously I did rebuilt after every modification in the vehicles.img file (3 are police cars and one of these is a non-ELS, so I set it "off" into _SLOTCONTROL.ini. Also I created the respective .ini file for my other ELS cars) Also I've modified the handling.dat file with the lines provided into the readme file of every downloaded vehicle but I've NEVER modified the vehicles.ide file. - Two different officer peds (I don't think these modifications could cause crashes because they are only texture modifications, but I had to modify some lines under the pedgrp.dat file for one of these skins, suggested by the installation readme). - I have modified the .gxt file to rename cars. - I'm using a tweaked rage_postfx.fxc file (shaders folder) for motion blur while driving. - My commandline (I think this is useless, not sure): -norestrictions -minspecaudio -noprecache -noswapdelay -novblank -dx10 /high Some of those installed scripts are properly customized, only for key binding. I also need to mention I have mixed some icenhancer v2.1 files (d3d9.dll, iceconfig.ini, smaa.dll, SMAA.fx and SMAA.h) with a timecyc I currently use, so I have a nice timecyc.dat with antialiasing. I have all needed files: ScriptHook, ScriptHookDotNet, AdvancedHookInit, AdvancedHook and an asi loader. The big problem is... I can't do a clean install cause my DVD's are completely scratched... My PC specs: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, i5 3230M up to 3.2Ghz, GF 740M 2GB, 12GB DDR3 1600Mhz. Not enough to run GTA IV since you haven't a dedicated videocard but an integrated one. Intel HD Graphics can't handle videogames as well (they sucks). Anyway this f**** game takes more from the CPU than the GPU... Your CPU is a dual-core and this game needs at least a quad-core processor and a good videocard (1GB VRAM) with least 6GB RAM to be played at 40/50 fps. GTA IV is very bad optimized on pc, one of the worst ever... I have played this game on a Core i3 with 3GB DDR3 and an integrated Intel HD Graphics and had a terrible performance.
