Best Video Compressor without to much quality loose!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

After DarkAngel showed us a better capture program then Fraps (), I am going to show you one of the best (My opinion) free video compressors without quality loose. I made a very small video of 493MB, I compressed it, afterwards it was 196MB. You don't even see the difference in quality. It is very handy to use it for GTA IV video's because you can edit the fraps limit. Meaning that if you capture with Fraps or Bandicam, you can adjust the compressor as much you want.

You can experiment with the quality setting, I have it on RF:20 and don't see a difference in quality. Under 20 = Higer Quality = Larger File. You can guess what higher does.

Here is a link to their website: http://handbrake.fr/ And a download link: http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php

(No worries, website is in english, not french)

Good luck!

Here are my results: (added)

Without compression: (Took 20min +)

With compression: RF:20 (Within 4 minutes uploaded)

It did take a considerable amount of quality, but from a 4.98GB video down to 71.4MB, that's pretty understandable.

On the plus side, it's uploaded to youtube in ten minutes, so I'll see what it looks like when on the web :)

Well, we can say it still looks good. (I hope)

Maybe you can show me the result? You can also improve the quality by experimenting the quality settings of handbrake.

Hmm, its not horrible. But also not perfect. Maybe you can optimize it for the web, there is a option for at the compressor.

Here are my results:

With compression: RF:20 (Within 4 minutes uploaded)

Without compression: (Took +20 minutes)

I am quite happy with my results!

Editing the discussion with these video's.

there is some quality loss, For Example: Go to both video's and set it to 1:22

You can see the Non Compressed video is allot better, the car looks solid black and the Compressed is more grey.

i choose for the bit longer render time then :P
