Approach Passenger Side on TStop?

Featured Replies

Is there anyway to make the passenger side approachable on traffic stops? Or at least have the blip appear on both driver and passenger side? I would assume its in the coding and not possible for me to tweak. i'm tired of getting run down on traffic stops while standing at the driver's window.

Maybe an idea for a later version of LCPDFR? I would love to see maybe an option to have both sides approachable so we can chose the safer side.

I agree. I have only been hit a few times but for realism purposes, passenger side would make things more realistic.

Maybe if we cant adjust it ourselves, you post this in LCPDFR suggestions and they can add it in RC3 :D

Here is a diagram of the technique we were taught in the Academy and as a Police Officer in EVOS, on how to make a safe traffic stop.

Blue=Patrol Vehicle Red=Vehicle being stopped Orange=Officer Safety Zone

1) Never perform a traffic stop in the middle of the road or in the median of a highway. Always follow the vehicle until you have found a safe location to initiate the stop.

2) Make sure the stop is far enough away from an intersection that your car can be pulled safely out of traffic

3) Nose your car towards traffic with your wheels turned out, this will give you a safe zone to stand in when approaching the driver side (orange rectangle). Should your patrol vehicle get impacted, the vehicle will be pushed into the lanes of traffic and not into the vehicle you are stopping.

3) Use your traffic advisers, when possible to direct traffic around you in a safe manner.

4) When entering your vehicle on a traffic stop, to check registration or background of the driver, enter from the passenger side. This eliminates the possibility of you being struck by traffic, when attempting to enter your vehicle.

5) Never walk between your cruiser and the vehicle you are stopping, always walk to the rear of your car and around to driver side, when exiting as a passenger or entering the passenger side.
