Just A Suggestion

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and girls, I love to give a suggestion if possible, I love this community and the mods that come with it but I fear that some people that may not know how to put mods in place for LSPDFR. I know its frustrating for others but I'm no good at making a exe file that could potentially help out others. I was thinking maybe a exe file that helps you put all mods, plugins, script hooks, clothing mods etc into your GTAV folder without no problem. I know its a big ask but I think this would benefit  your mods and Mods Devs as well. I love the troubleshooting one but if there was one where it could place all your Mods you downloaded into GTA V, create LSPDFR folders automatically and check for errors or if the Mod is out of date with LSDPFR mod or GTAV would be awesome. I hope I could get some opinions on this....

It is definitely something that could be improved. We have been working on various ideas to streamline the process and hopefully soon have something to share.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

This is kinda what OpenIV does already. The problem is that packaging things to make such deep edits to XML in archives creates tons of problems when there needs to be sorting of XML tagged items, deep edits, and disagreement over the best way to insert things into the game. Will you add or replace? How do you know what you are replacing? How do you validate what you are replacing? How do you parse out everyone's comments and configuration settings? How do you avoid automated mistakes because there's no standards?

After everything I've learned so far? I wouldn't trust someone's weekend application to do the job correctly when so many things to make a single addition are sprawled out across a single application.

True but some people who are new to Modding GTAV and that have trouble following instructions cause sometimes the instructions are not clear enough or anyone that does a Youtube video on it does not explain the whole installing or adding files to the GTAV main file...but really its up to anyone who wants to give it a shot, maybe it will work out maybe it won't who knows...

I can understand your thoughts, but believe me this would add more problems as help. The most users installed wrong doesn´t do it because the instructions are not good. Look at Albos plugins, just simple drag and drop, the folder structure is already given and it´s very difficult to understand how anybody can messed it up. And if you would use mods in a game, it is important to know how does it work i think. Only then you can find errors by yourself.
