SpawmAmbiently spawns vehicle with wrong livery

Featured Replies

I have fully customized backup.xml, agency.xml and regions.xml files. As I understand, LSPDFR will randomly spawn patrolling vehicles that belong to the agency who has jurisdiction over the area, but I am seeing wrong liveries being spawned.

For example, I have the Sandy Shores areas defined as a region, have the Sandy Shores Police agency, and assigned SSPD to the area (as local patrol) in backup.xml. I think I am setting this up correctly because "RespondsAsBackup" works flawlessly, and I also have the right vehicle/livery spawning at my police stations. However, when I just drive down the streets I often see vehicles with wrong liveries patrolling. The model seem to be correct, though. (I assign a livery to almost all my cars defined in agency.xml). In the following example, a border patrol vehicle spawned, but the agency (CBP) is in fact not assigned to any regions.

Below are the logs when the vehicle with wrong livery is spawned. The log does not mention livery but I found the car and it has a border patrol livery which does not belong to any region. I killed the driver, the log shows that the same cop "was damaged" which indicates that I found the right vehicle:

It seems like most of the time cars have the right livery, but it still happens from time to time and it's very easy to notice as I can see BCSO, LSSD or other completely unrelated vehicle in Los Santos and so on. I am not sure if I did something wrong or if there is a bug -- any ideas are appreciated. I also attached my xml files in case they could help the investigation.

Unrelated to the main topic but the screen shot also showed another bug - I have a female character but when the game is loaded with the character on duty, it has a male body (as shown above) and masculine facial characteristics. The animations (such as how they enter a car) is also the male variant. I need to go to select a character to correct this.

After comparing your agency file with someone else who was having this problem, I see that you both have the livery after the chance, going before the chance could help?

I tried that -- no luck. What's really weird is that backup vehicles are all correct, which means that the agency file is parsed and loaded correctly. For some reason the issue is just with ambient spawns.

Thanks for your report. You are correct that liveries are not properly assigned for ambient units (neither are extras, I just checked). It will be resolved in the next patch.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

FYI, extras don't appear to be assigned correctly when using the vehicle garage either. The extra numbers are also one higher than they should be (i.e., if the vehicle has Extra #1, the components menu in the garage shows Extra #2 instead).

Not sure if this is intentional or not.

Has this been fixed yet?  A few people still seem to be having this issue...

Thanks
