When I install an add-on police vehicle, literally all other police cars and the slots are gone in game when I try to spawn them. Franklin's car is also gone, when i try to go on duty, the game will crash. If I simply take out the vehicle files, everything is back to normal. This is also the first add-on car I have ever installed so I probably just am retarded. What am I doing wrong? The car I am trying to install is:

The most recent patchday folder. 

Try replace instead of add-on unless you know how to edit carvariations and handling metas.

Well, even when I replace the car won't work. So when I put it in as an add-on, the car itself will work, but the others are gone. It's just really weird.  Perhaps it is the car maybe? I tried using Albo's Modding DLC Pack, and same thing still happened, I even watched his video step for step.

Have you tried using the most updated game config to support addon vehicles?

Well I was, but which gameconfig do I use? Last time I installed one, my game wouldn't load.

What size did you choose? I recommend using 1x peds 1x vehicles. Also make sure to download the following:

Those will stop the game from crashing.

Now I am just lost entirely, as far as even installing the car at this point. I think because I was replacing the carvariationsmeta with the one for the car I am trying to install. Now I can not figure out how to add it to the original carvariationsmeta.

I wouldn't touch any .meta files at all if you don't know what you're doing.

Good things I always make backups, I am a newb, that much of a noob. But for add-on cars, isn't that how you HAVE to add the car?

Yes you have to edit the .metas if you add on. If you replace you do not (most the time).

Well I tried adding it as a replace, and thats as simple as just renaming the file to said slot right? Because the same thing happened when I did that.

No with replace you just put the .ytd and .ytf files in the latest patch day.

But the file name comes as hurkfpiu. Assuming the file came as police2, I could rename it to sheriff 2, which is what I want it at. So I'm just replacing it correct? But then when I do this, the car will be messed up. If I use the carvariations and vehicle meta the download comes with, then thats when all the cars are gone. So i've tried both, neither working. I have 3 other cars installed as a replacement, and have moved them around a lot, and I can get them to work fine, it is this car that is the problem.

Yeah if you want to replace sheriff2 you rename " hurkfpiu" to "sheriff2" that is correct. It will then just use the meta file for sheriff2. Try a different FPIU perhaps if this one is giving you problems specifically.

I just did that and it wouldn't even load in game. I just really wanted this skin, because I want realistic PD's for where I live. Guess I will just use some other one then. Thanks for your help guys.

I'll try this file next time I play, probably in 12 hours or so as I'm about to go to bed. I'll let you know how it goes and if I got it to work and how I did it!
