V0.4 - Some quick early feedback

Featured Replies

Ok, so I have been trying out 0.4 and I am really enjoying it.

A couple of things I've noticed which are great: Air support, works brilliantly. Full controller support, joyous. So far I have been able to put the keyboard to one side and just do everything I want with controller, which is so good.

One thing I've noticed which is HARD. Catching and keeping up with pursuits. The new AI seems really good, but maybe it would be good to have a difficulty setting to determine the speed of the perp. Catching up and keeping up with a pursuit for me is so difficult, they are so fast and they don't crash like I do!

Another thing I noticed is that I pulled someone over with an expired license. Really they should be arrested, and they can't be allowed to drive off, but transport options said I had nobody who was a suspect for transport, even though I had detained them.

Finally, big important question for me: I have custom uniforms for UK police, but no matter what I do, the uninform in the customization menu is always the same "default" one. Not only that but most departments have the uniform change settings greyed out I can only seem to select the grey casual clothes, the default "police" uniform, or the IAA plain clothes. How can I make my OpenIV edits to uniforms be options in the customization menu?

Thanks, this is really great, especially being able to do most things using just the controller. 🙂

hello fellow office the new update is great I was wanting to know are there any mods that are similar to police radio and arrest manager and traffic policer thank you

Controller support is certainly nice. I tried to get ELS working, which I did, but I couldn't change the LSPDFR controls. Every time I tried editing the keys.ini (with notepad++) it would prevent LSPDFR from loading until I put the original ini back in the directory.

Edit: The ini editing may not have been my issue since I have something else creating an inconsistent boot up for me.

You need to set the suspect on the ground first by pressing Q near them (there are help boxes to indicate when you can use it).

Configuring LSPDFR is done through xml files, you won't see your mods added with OpenIV automatically. The LSPDFR Wiki has information on how to customize the files - there is way too much to explain in a single post.

be sure you're working with a clean install is all i can say, had problems with 0.4 not working myself, 3 hrs of downloading GTA again, then no problems, ELS included, i use default keys though

I found it best/easiest/most reliable to install 0.4 in a clean, vanilla GTA V folder and test from there. If you're using Steam, once you have a vanilla looking folder, be sure to run an integrity check and let it download any missing files. Below is what a vanilla Steam copy of GTA V should look like.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies, I actually sorted it out last night, I needed to install ScripthookV.dll and it fixed everything up. V.4 seems to be running smooth. I did not go back to Vanilla install as I have crappy internet and it would literally take me a day to re downloaded GTA, but I took my time and uninstalled/deleted all mods and plugins. Going to enjoy V4.0 for a bit until I start testing plugins that work with it.

 Thanks again Tango and Will.
