LSPDFR Crash on launch

Having the same problem. When I take my mods folder and/or dinput out of the directory it loads. That doesn’t help me though because mods won’t be working without them. No one seems to know what’s causing this. There’s so many possibilities.

I’m going to try to make the GTA 5 folder an exception to my anti virus. I’d suggest you try this as well if you have one.

I'm having the exact same problem with that same message.  I have a vanilla backup of the game and I loaded that and updated it with the latest update 1604.  It runs fine.  But on the modded folder it doesn't load through RAGE, it just closes out and brings up that message.  Even if I load it through the GTAV.exe it still crashes after about 10 seconds after clicking the Story Mode.  It tries to load Story Mode but closes out and brings that message up.  Since it works fine with the no mods version I have I think it would have to be a Rage issue or ScriptHook maybe?  I just updated the game (1604) and Updated Rage (64_1234) and ScriptHook (1604.0).  The update has been out for a few weeks now so I'm not sure how long people have been having this issue, since I just updated everything.  And yes, my NVIDIA graphics drivers were just updated a couple days ago.

Sounds like you’re having pretty much exactly my problem. Updated my drivers too. Didn’t work. Like you said, the game loads when the mods folder is gone so I’m not sure what this means for us. Hopefully it’s just a problem on ragehook or scripthooks end (but they haven’t released an update in weeks). Because this happened to me all of a sudden out of nowhere. I didn’t install anything new.

I’m seeing more and more people having this problem too. So I’m thinking that it’s not on our end. But then again, it works without our mods folder, so that could mean anything.

Yeah, also just updated Simple Trainer.  I don't use Scripthooks Native Trainer.  I thought I would update it because it said Simple Trainer was updated 4 days ago.  But I guess that's not the problem either because it still won't load.  We just have to play the waiting game here.

there are soo many possibilities,  unfortunately with what you posted we can only guess as to what the problem is.    can you please post the crash log?

When did this issue start?  did this happened immediately after an update?  you new here?  I know after this last update MANY people have had issues of all sorts, there is no 1 problem causing it.

To some of you that posted,  you are starting a new mods folder after the update right?  adding in an old one that was prior to the update will not work you need to start over and add back in ,  there are newer files every update and can throw everything out of whack

Hey Boone, so in my situation, i've been playing lspdfr for a long while now. Years. It seems like when I don't play for weeks and then I come back, I have problems lol. This started randomly for me. I don't even remember installing anything new. And the thing you said about the new mods folder, I don't have to worry about that considering i'm not new correct? I have added the GTA V folder to my Norton exceptions and I still cannot get into the game. Heres my ragehook log:RagePluginHook.log

This Happens after a new game update.  The update.rpf file in your mods folder doesn’t match the new files that would be added in the update rpf after a game update     Reference this post below :

Its basically trial and error you can try copying the new update rpf file over your old one in mods folder or try to pick away at files one by one.  In my opinion it’s much easier to wipe your mods folder and start over.   It makes for a more stable gameplay and takes less time.  I feel I can add in files much faster than troubleshoot after an update.  ****

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION

I don’t stress too much because the second the new Lspdfr  update rolls out I will end up doing a fresh reinstall of the whole game

Ok so I just ran ragehook as administrator and it worked. Why is it working in administrator? What is preventing it from loading it when it's not run as administrator?

Oh my god. I just ran it without admin and it worked too... I didn't even do anything lol. Well, thanks for your help 🙂

I can’t answer as to why........That’s all you did and everything is working now correct?

Oh wait a minute 😞 I did change something. I renamed my mods folder to _mods and that's what made my game load. The mods folder is not purple anymore in OpenIV. Is this bad that it's renamed and is OpenIV not recognizing it as the mods folder anymore? I saw someone say to change the mods folder name to _mods but will everything work and will this be a problem in the future? I don't get why a _ in front of mods fixed it.

Yea the mods folder looks the same when going in OpenIV, but a red banner comes up at the top and when I click copy to mods folder, it creates a new mods folder with the other _mods folder inside of it. So I deleted the new folder it made and kept my original mods folder named _mods. I just hope this isn't an issue.

if I read that right you just removed the new mods folder and put your old one back in......it will crash again

Well, it crashes on startup if the mods folder is named "mods" but it loads when its called "_mods".

Just now, Boone4796 said:

yes you should

Yes, and the mods folder is not purple anymore like it should be in OpenIV. Do you think that naming the mods folder _mods is going to cause any problems?
