You can't invent your own browser using Visual Basic. The Web component is simply a tiny embeddable version of IE.

Also, just use Chrome or Firefox, they're pretty good. What's the problem with them?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

How does chrome or firefox not work half the time?! I have used firefox since I can't remember when. I never have a problem with it. The only time I can't use firefox is when I don't have internet or power.

Whenever i download something with firefox, it crashes, and chrome just sucks all out, its slow, and crashes, firefox is good, but like i said it crashes when i download anyting.

If Chrome or Firefox don't work half the time it's a problem on your end, not theirs.

How is it a problem on my end? Edited by sc2142

Reinstall them, update them, remove any shitty addons you have. No one else has these problems, that's why they are among the leading web browsers. Chrome is also one of the fastest.

I never used Chrome just for personal preference but anything I've read on it has said that it is one of the fastest out there too.

I went from IE, to Chrome, to Opera, to FireFox, and back to Chrome. I've even tried Safari for a few days. Chrome is the best browser you will find.

Also, you will get nowhere that you want to coding a browser in vb. Learn CC++ and get advanced in it. Again, vb will get you nowhere.. You can make something pretty, but you cannot really create the features you will be looking for and the speeds will be the equivalent of IE. I've tried, lol.

My humble opinion.

Internet Explorer:

Pros:

Basic

Not heavy on the system

Realitivitally getting safer with their on board protection, hell, if you try to test with IE (Malicious sites), odds are %60 of the sites will be blocked.

Cons:

Slow as a dog.

Not much to it.

Google Chrome (Or just chrome)

Pros:

Hella fast

Very streamlined

Lots of extensions

Cons:

BLOAT, when I say bloat, I mean BLOAT (Especially if your like me and keep alot of tabs open)

Not that secure, has a small layer, but nothing to brag about, would definatley look at what sites you'd be visiting.

Mozilla Firefox:

Pros:

Open source

A ton of Add ons/Extensions

Not much bloat (I have around 35+ Tabs open and current Processor wear is at: 247k)

Streamlined and secure.

Cons:

A a tad slower than Chrome

At times it acts as if it has no idea wtf to do with a complicated page

A tad all over the place when it comes to organization, but you get used to it.

I've hoped back and fourth from Firefox and Dragon (A from of Chrome created by Comodo Security to cut down on bloat and add more security to the browser) and I have always loved chrome for it's sleek, fast design, but the bloat was far too big, another process just for 1 simple extension in the 20+k Range? No thanks...Especially with how many tabs I often keep open, so I settled with firefox, couldn't be happier.
