Can someone explain why the whole "Brony" concept even exists? I know what it means, but why are males interested in My Little Pony?

Isn't the show's targeted demographic young girls?

According to my real life brony friends, the show contains quite a few adult references and jokes in each episode, meaning that both adults and children can enjoy the show. I have no idea if this is true or not since I've never watched it nor do I plan on doing so.

In all seriousness though, I can't comprehend this fad, never could, never will. I can even less comprehend why grown men in their 40s and 50s enjoy this show as much as the young crowd does.

I forced myself to watch this show, I just can't watch it.

I understand my opinion isn't really welcomed here, but I just wanted to say that while I am not one, I'm glad to see that people can just be themselves without fear of judgement. As for those who are posting hateful comments here, it's not wrong for a grown man or woman to like anything he or she wants to. You could argue that sports are for college kids, so when you get older give up on them because it's trendy. Folks, don't be trendy, be yourself. If you like something, embrace it, fuck what anyone else thinks. If you dislike something, embrace your distaste for it, but that doesn't mean you have to put others down who like what you dislike. To each their own, live by it.
