Domestic Violence, Domestic Disturbance, Public Intox.

Featured Replies

This was briefly mentioned in a different forum about a year ago, but was kind of buried in it's own little post, so I thought I'd bring it back up.

I would enjoy responding to domestic violence, battery, or fight calls. This is one of the most common type of calls in the real world, and I think most people here loathe guys who beat their wife, and hate hearing loud arguments. Also maybe something like noise complaints might be a simple, but realistic feature. A lot of people may not like that one, but it would give more variety. Perhaps you could arrest someone for disorderly conduct if they keep swearing at you. Or maybe include a feature for public intoxication or even DUI drivers trying to leave a bar in their car and get on the road.

Ambitious thoughts, yes, but I think these would all be a blast.

Wouldnt you just be able to make a domestic disturbance by making two peds fight?..

The main reason why stuff like this isn't already ingame is becuase of all the voices that need doing. Though it would be good to see some of these ideas ingame.

I think we could find voulenteers, and I'd be happy to help although I don't exactly have a studio mic, I just have a head set. But before we get that deep into it, I was thinking more along the lines of me pulling in front of a house, and some guy is beating up a girl, as an example. She's just using some of the generic "help" or distress yells. Tase the guy and arrest him. Or have him run or something.

I'd say start out like that and we can work our way up.

I think if we put in some effort to either ask the community, or seek out volunteers from elsewhere, it could be done. But I think the domestic violence scenario I posed would work with current voices built into the game. Just get some generic fighting shouts going and someone beating somebody else up when you arrive on scene. Call it B.D.V. or a fight call.

I would love to see noise complaints. Imagine there's a party, it's like 2 AM, and the neighbors are saying that it's annoying. Get there and kill the party , lol i always wanted to do that irl.

That exactly what I said above.

As for noise complaints, kind of a "meh" call, but it's probably doable even for voice work by using the "Okay move along people, nothing to see here." quotes from the AI cops.

But anyways, it's better than always doing the same thing "Mugging, Shots fired, mugging, mugging, suicide, drug deal..." It kinda bores me...

Anyway, i'm sure that the people fighting call can be done easily because today i was playing and went walking on the streets and saw 1 man fighting with another man , not with fists, but rather like arguing about something of racism i think(lol?)

Yeah I've seen people yell at the street preachers in the 2nd and 3rd islands and sometimes if two people bump into each other with their cars they will get out and start a fist fight. So it probably wouldn't be hard to script.

You could probably use filler voices, I wouldn't mind suspending my disbelief if it means more callouts. Besides, there is a ton of voices available... just have em cursing at each other. Regardless, this mod is heading in the right direction.

Agreed.

Although that project would take weeks to script out,

Sounds like a very great idea.

Weeks doesn't really take much time, and the fight calls already exist now (somewhat hidden) in .95 Beta 1.

Yeah now thinking about it... "someone said above well can't you just make two peds attack each other"

It got me to start thinking that most domestic calls are between a female and male, so it should be scriped more on male and female and sometimes have a same sex domestic call that dosen't happen as much.

Another thing i was thinking about was if the beta has a police station that you can enter, then maybe when you respond to a domestic call, some buildings can be intergrated to enter just like the police station, and you can go in and decide who should go to jail.

Already exists in the beta. You respond to a building every time there is a domestic violence call.

What he said is that each time you will press the ''y'' key, you will need to go to a certain location then in the usual red marker. (if i got it right :/)

oh i was talking about something way diffrent, a feature that could be added later on in development, i know whathe is talking about, that should clear it up, ^^
