So I have been using 11john11's Addon Coroner Van, and the only complaint I have is that when the coroner van drives away with its lights on, there is a distant siren. The van isn't set up to use a siren normally, so I'm guessing this issue is tied to the files that control the lights. So, its a small issue, but I assume there's a fix for it, whether I have to poke around in the files or whatnot. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I've noticed this with other vehicles, even towtrucks, and they also seem to affect traffic, too, at times. I thought maybe removing relevant flags or making sure it wasn't set in the emergency category in the meta entry would do something, but no luck.

Is it possible to replace the siren setting with the lighting setting?

For example, it says:

      <sirenSettings value="31" />

So could I just change the light setting to 31 and the siren to 0?

Check the vehicles.meta for the following flags

 

FLAG_EMERGENCY_SERVICE

FLAG_LAW_ENFORCEMENT_

 

Remove both of them.  They shouldn't have a siren.  Also make sure audio name hash doesn't have a police hash.

(<audionamehash> is kind of at the top of the meta)

Well, those flags weren't in the file, and there was no police audio hash.

 

EDIT: This isn't such a big problem, if there isn't an apparent fix, then I can live with the distant sirens.

Are you positive the distant sirens just aren't GTA's normal ambient sirens?  Everyone gets them, and there's not much that can be done.

It is most definitely the coroner van, there is no siren when it drives close to you with its lights on, but when it gets decently far away, the siren is audible.

I'm guessing that this is for sure GTA's distant siren affect. I'm thinking that even "code 2" activates the distant siren sound.

Yeah that sounds about right. It's just a bit odd that it happens with code 2 vehicles though.

Go to the Arrest Manager INI file, and scroll to the bottom until you find this line:

 

//The Coroner Vehicle Model must have at least 2 seats.
CoronerVehicleModel=SPEEDO

 

And change the word "SPEEDO" to the name of the vehicle that you want the coroners to use.

Excuse me, may I have a siren when my coroner came to deal with the body, but there was no siren when carrying the body away
