Modded cars causing texture loss during long playthroughs

Featured Replies

I have replaced several cars (POLICE,POLICE2,POLICE3,SHERIFF,POLICEB,FIRETRUK,AMBULANCE and FBI2). I also have 25-30 add-on cars. I'm using a custom gameconfig (https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars) and I have traffic and peds set to 1x. I also have VisualV and NaturalVision Remastered installed. I only get texture loss after about 30 minutes or so (it depends on how many callouts I take). I've tried editing the gameconfig but my game started crashing. Is there anything I can do to reduce texture loss?

Specs:

 - Nvidia 1070

 - Intel i7-7700K

 - Running on a SSD

 - 32GB of ram (2400mhz)

Your best bet would be to try removing some of the replaced cars and see how that goes. Texture loss is most common when there are too many vehicles with 4k textures around you.  However, it can also happen if there are just far too many modded cars in the vicinity.

I made sure to downscale all textures to 2K. I've been holding off on removing replace cars because it breaks immersion to see a vanilla car patrolling the city instead of a car that matches my other units. Is there anyway I can replace/remove patrolling cars in Los Santos?

I believe you can, but it requires editing some files that I've never touched.

Have you tried using different cars?  If you're having this issue with all cars you try, it might indicate that your computer just can't handle it.

I mean my PC should be able to handle it, I've tried a few cars, the texture loss issue varies. Sometimes it won't happen in a play session, and sometimes it'll happen after 4-5 callouts. It depends on region, it's the worst in Paleto Bay. I usually don't get texture loss in the city, but my fps will drop.

Make sure you're using quality vehicle mods that use different LODs. Check out thew forth reply in this thread for how to check if a vehicle model is using LODs in OpenIV

They all have lods as well, firetruk is the only model I'm using with questionable lods (64k on low).
