Missing Visual C++ 2010 Restributable?

Hello there. While running the G17 IV Diagnostics tool, I discovered that it tells me that Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package is not installed. Why?

And yes, I have it installed of couse.

I've tried both the x86 and the x64 versions. Nothing works. The tool won't pick it up. Does anyone know which directions the tool is checking?

I would really love getting the mod up running again..

I am running Windows 7 64-bit.

Thanks in advance.

The C++ Redist isn't through windows updates, you can install it from here though;

I know... I have already installed it.

As I said, I've tried both the x86 and the x64 versions.

The windows update was just a suggestion I recieved, in order to check if there was some important updates I didn't have.

Jay: Does the version have anything to do with it? Are you thinking about the tool or the game version?

I mean.. The tool is claiming that I DON'T have it installed. Does anyone know which directions the tool checks, and if the OS has anything to do with it? (In my case, that would be 64-bit)

Well the 'Latest' installer comes with the ability to install C++ redist amongst other required deps, so you may wish to try it (if not for that, but for the fact it's the latest version anyways)

I recently updated to the 1.0.7.0 patch now, but it didn't install the C++ 2010 package? Hmm..

Sorry I was implying the LCPD:FR installer itself, not the 1.0.7.0 patch.

The latest LCPD:FR installer under downloads does the check/install for necessary libs like C++ Redist I believed.

This one? Because it seems like it only installs the mod files. And it says that you will have to download the c++ and .NET yourself.

Isn't it telling you if you don't have them? o.O At least as far as I recalled it tells you if it doesn't detect them... if that installed without any issue but diag doesn't see the C++ redist... I'm not sure, unless the installer doesn't work like that, but one of the devs would be better to say if it does

Right, is the mod also workin'?

I haven't tried. The laptop isn't good enough to run GTA IV.

But atleast it picks up the Visual C++, so it should work.

The bad thing is that in order to get it working, I have to install 32-bit on a PC with 4+ GB ram, so I won't be able to use it all...

I know I can install two copies of Windows 7 on my PC, but that really sucks.. But if that's the only option I have, that's what I have to do.
