Lack of Professionalism or Street Justice?

Featured Replies

A classic body cam video from some gang infested hell hole here in the united states. Nearly 10 million views for some reason. This officer clearly has had his beat in the gang banging turf a little to long. If found in this call/situation Would you...

A: Come back post shift in plain clothes and get shot / jumped by all his friends?

B : Keep your word and beat his ass without any subsequent arrest or consequences ( Just how they like it )

or ...

C: Maritain your temper and professionalism and  return to your cruiser and take up the next call on shift

This cop voted B. And judging by the reaction and commentary on the video the Public prefers that method. Interesting.

I think he just got the beating his father never gave him. As he stated previously clearly discipline is an issue, maybe eating a few hands will resolve that as opposed to going to jail.

His conduct was unacceptable, period. He swore to uphold the law and the criminal justice system and he was unprofessional in doing this. I understand the mindset and the mentality of these kids who grow up in these sorts of neighborhood, and while the action of this police officer does teach a lesson to this punk, it is still unprofessional, and it's not the enforcement  nor the training the state hired him to act on. The kid might respect the cop from thereon after this beating, but it still shatters the credibility of community policing in other cities that has been affected by this video. Social Media is a very dangerous platform.

Correct answer, lol. Yeah it's amazing what too many hours and sheer emotion can do to some people.

This was not very de-escalating, lol. In terms of policing this was really bad, but it's true though, you can one-size-fits-all the crap out of your entire community, but community policing will never reach this family or this neighbourhood at all I'm afraid. Such kids need a beating and who else than the guy who grew up in that same neighbourhood could better judge what such kids need? So I don't think it's such a bad thing to do, but in the traditional sense of policing this is of course unacceptable.

Very unprofessional, I understand he was probably frustrated but this should never happen to the extent that it did.
