after two years absence I decided to get back. While unzipping LSPD First Response 0.3.1, KIS18 came up with this

 

 

manual scan right after (hence twice)

 

So, what's the matter? Google says "cobalt" stands for a hacking group, wth.

How to install this mod nowadays? Is JF's tutorial still up to date?

As long as you get it from a reliable source, such as our site, it's as safe as can be.  Anti viruses sometimes falsely flag mods.

yes, got it from this site. I can't remember KIS detected anything like this back in 2015.

Got the same problem since yesterday.

Got it with AdcancedHook.asi and AdvancedHook.dll (.ddl is from the ELS-mod).

 

Looks like they updated the database of KIS and there it says anything in the AdvancedHook-Files is like a virus.

Now KIS is deleting the files instantly and I got no idea how to fix it....

Add an exception in your AV.

already thought about that but KIS is instantly deleting the files when I put them into GTA folder..

 

EDIT: finally got it. The Problem was that the file is temporary stored in a temporary directory and I just allowed the File in GTA main folder.

Same problem with advancedhookv.dll Tried to install but Kaspersky deleted the file saying it detected a Trojan.Win32.Cobalt.ar

 

Happened last night while I was playing. I did dl ELS from this site so is it safe? Can I add it to my exclusions?

well they are saying that is safe butstrange that any youtubers like steavethe gammer55 jeff favignano first thirty minutes talk about this its strange but what i read in other comments KIS is wrong they say that you can ignore that its 100% safe

Advancedhookv.dll is 100% safe.  I don't know what the developers of the anti-virus changed, but it's a false flag.  ELS requires advancedhookv, so there's really no ill intent behind it other than to help a mod work.

@Giordano, any chance not using "AdvancedHookV.asi" at all? Won`t  install ELS then for sure.

 

@Lt.springnick, problem is KIS deletes the unzipped file right away. No chance to restore. Creating an exclusion would be a thing, I guess (settings->Additional->Threats and Exclusions).

 

 

Anyways, is there one person not keep struggling with LSPDFR (w/o ELS)?

You'll have to whitelist it. As we've already said, there's no virus. I'm guessing Kaspersky has just decided not to like the file, that really isn't our problem.
