LCPD First response won't work?

Featured Replies

Hello guys. It's been a long time since last time I played LCPD first response, and my friend is borrowing my steam account at the moment.

A lot of new features, so I just HAVE to try it! :)

So, I downloaded GTA IV. It went all smooth, starts up with the crack etc., BUT nothing happens when I press Alt + P.

I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit. I installed the .NET 4, C++ x64 etc. I think I have all the necessarily files. (Since I ran the 0.91 installer).

Anyway, I know piratism is illegal, but I thought it was okay since I've bought the game. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And yes, I am running the game as administrator.

I have to start the game with the LaunchGTAIV.exe file, since the GTAIV.exe only says "GTAIV.exe has stopped working" during startup.

But, the GTAIV.exe file is the original file, and not the crack. (ONLY LaunchGTAIV.exe)

So, what would be the case? I'm running 1.0.4.0 patch.

Also, during patching: If I want the 1.0.4.0 patch, would I have to install the 1.0.3.0 patch first, or can I just right away to 1.0.4.0? Same with 1.0.7.0 etc.?

Thanks!

Meh, i find it hard to believe you borrowed your steam account, but i'll make this on exception and help you! Run the game as an admin. And no, you don't need to put those previous patches first. Just patch it up to the one you need to.

As I said in the first post, I always run my game as admin, but it still won't work. Anyways, I saw you had to run the INSTALLER as admin aswell. Is that right?

In that case, I'll try that. I'm on it already.

Thanks for showing interest in helping me btw. ;)

Edit: Didn't work. May it have something to do with my operation system?

I've really seen people having this same problems when people are using cracks. I believe it crashes because of the crack. Hope you'll get your steam account back ASAP, so it would work. Maybe we can play together the multiplayer then too.

Yes, I'll try that.

And btw, I came over the G17 IV Diagnostics tool. It tells me that Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable is not installed. I'm pretty sure I installed the x64 version.

I thought the x86 wouldn't work. I'll give it a shot.

And yes, it would be nice to play some multiplayer with you. It's a long time since last, but still.

Edit: Just installed the x86 version aswell, but the tool still says it's not installed.

Now that's very odd. I'll try to figure out if there is something that might fix the problem.

So you don't think the problem is that I'm running 64-bit? I remember that LCPD FR has always worked perfectly, but after it started to require the .NET/C++ packages, I just can't seem to get it running again. It's a shame though, since it's a pretty cool mod.

We'll see. I'll restart my system just in case, and see what else I can do. :)
