I recently installed GTA 4 and LCPDFR on my partitioned iMac with Windows 7 and am running into an issue when trying to go on duty...

I am able to activate LCPDFR mod with alt-P. But when I go into the police station, it immediately sends me out and puts me back in my vehicle back at the start. I then cannot get back into a police station again unless I start over.....then the same thing.

I had the game installed on an XP OS and didn't have this issue....so, Im confused. Yes, I do have other mods in the game, but isn't that the whole point of the LCPDFR mod??

If anyone had experienced this and knows what I can do to get on duty?? Oh, I am also experiencing a lot of texture loss, but Im not sure if that is contributing and the mod just won't work with so much texture issues. Im bringing in my Mac to see what the deal is with the graphics card, if any.

if you have a trainer, spawn police uniform, spawn police car. then ALT+P, CTRL+P. Thats what I do all the time, driving to the police station, countless loading of the game just takes too long for me. :)

I'd like to note that is a development shortcut key, and will be "purged" from the final build, unless the developers changed their minds. Just don't go relying on it a lot.

I hope it's not purged,I love that shortcut.Saves alot of time and makes my game sessions last alot longer without crashing.(Plus it's a huge help in multi-player)

Anyone ever experience this problem when going into the police station? I can't even walk to the back office. Im glad you guys don't want Cntrl+P purged but that's not the question here...

Yah... I do the same, But if its a iMac I bet thats your problem (With Texture Loss) The graphics cards suck... I had the iMac with the best graphics card, and with ELS mods, I still got texture loss. Thats why I use a Mac Pro

Yeah, Im seeing that my Mac cannot handle the textures these cars have and I should not be installing in police 1, 2 and polpatriot. I thought Macs had great video processors, but I guess not.

Do you think the failure to allow me on duty could have something to do with all that texture loss???

No I dont belive that could have a issue... Sometimes when you go into the PD and its a black hallway... But I doubt a bad GPU is the issue here. And macs have great CPUs but most of the time sucky GPU's. Also do what Asuna said about the Diag. Also PM me your Specs (Im curious) And I might be able to help you with some of your texture loss issues

EDIT: I used to have a issue where It spawned me to another island, and the solution was Re-Installing your game. Which might be a good idea

I also enjoy the CTL+P "force duty"shortcut and hope it stays in the game. Saves a lot of time like others have said with crashes and loading. Anyway thats off topic - hope you get your game fixed but I was going to say try CTL+P but others beat me to it

Nope, just LCPDFR. Im beginning to think it's just this Mac and running windows on it just isn't the same...... I had this on my laptop (toshiba) which had no Graphics card and I could run the game with mods.....obviously it was super laggy.

Someone did tell me to add a commandline.txt and put: nonrestrictions. They said that was why I couldn't go on duty in the police station...? I don't have that in my main directory (GTAIV folder). Is that an issue? I have yet to try forcing duty and just using the trainer, but again, I have not loaded it yet. Also, do I put everything in the trainer mod (everything in the download) into the game??

Oh, I was going to uninstall lcpdfr and maybe try the xliveless??
