Small Display Mod

Featured Replies

I'm looking for something that will be able to display a few lines of text in the corner of someone's screen. This text will be pulled from a mysql database off my website. Somewhat like a small CAD system. There will be no need for user input, and the text should be able to update at a certain interval of time.

Since mostly nobody can Alt+Tab without not being able to get back in, or don't have a second monitor, I thought of this idea.

Could this be done at all?

Thanks

Mark

You might try using http://www.overwolf.com/. It will allow you to open a web browser, that I believe you can re-size and even keep on screen while playing.

A small CAD system? CAD stands for "computer aided design" , and I doubt that's what you mean.

If you run the game in windowed mode, you can ALT+TAB out without any problems.

Worked fine for a few minutes/alt+tabs, then GTAIV stole my mouse icon and refused to give it back until I closed it.

Haha, sorry for the confusion. I do not want to Alt+Tab.. too many problems.. same with windowed mode. I don't want to do any of that.

I just want to see if it's possible to show text up on the screen pulled from a mysql database, which can update every once in a while. Nothing much to it.

Press the windows key, and it will give it back.

Mouse worked a few times after alt+tab but GTAIV did eventually eat it and refused to play nicely windowed on my i5-2500k,16gb ram, Samsung 830series SSD and HIS (ATI) 6950 2GB VC.
