[REQ] Proper PIT Maneuver Plugin

Featured Replies

I have a request that I thought I'd share with those who can make plugins.

Nothing is more frustrating then endlessly PIT'ing vehicles just to have them drive away with four flat tires, a busted and smoking engine, no doors, and broken lights after being PIT 15+ times including head on collisions into light poles. My suggestion is to add some more realism to pursuits. What about a plugin that detects X amount of speed suddenly changing direction would cause the vehicle to shut off/stall? This is the main purpose of a PIT maneuver and I believe it would make a great addition to LSPDFR/LCPDFR.

Psuedocode could be something along the lines of:

1: Get speed of the vehicle in forward motion

2: Check forward direction of the vehicle/Velocity

3: If speed and velocity are not the same direction,

4: Shut down the vehicle's engine

5: If player is near the vehicle, stay in the car until forced to exit

6: If player is not near the vehicle, escape and try to evade on foot

Ideas/Feedback?

I think this would be interesting and quite helpful to have.

I recomend using LSPDFR+ and setting the AI to safe mode. They'll be a bit more tame. Then you can do the pits yourself.

This doesn't solve the problem though. When you PIT a vehicle, it just spins around, crashes violently, then limps away and drives off. Repeat about 50 times, until the vehicle is about to explode. Where's the realism in that?

Oh I see what you're saying. In that case I recommend Police Smart Radio's pit request feature.

I don't think you're reading the original post. Police Smart Radio doesn't disable the vehicle due to engine stalling...
