AMD/Nvidia GPU's

So story to start, my old computer which when I upgraded I gave to my dad to replace his old broken one around this time last year, Earlier this year the GPU was repleaced as it died with a AMD RX 640. Afew weeks ago the MB went so he replaced the computer with something new as it was getting old (2011 build) However the GPU still works. 

 

Now what I'm wondering is will it work in my computer spec can be found here:

Now I'm not trying to run SLI I know that won't work, Want I want to do is have my GTX 1070 run my main monitor and games and have the RX640 run my drawing tablet, IS this possible?

Thanks for letting me know, It's not big isusse if I can't use it. I might sell it used. Just wanted to see if I could put it to use first

May be worth trying, at your own risk. As sixum said, make sure your power supply can handle it. Do some basic math. Add together the power draw of all your current components. Give a "buffer zone" of at least 100W to be safe. Meaning, if you add this second card, make sure your power supply would still have at least 100W of capacity remaining with two cards running at load. You don't want to risk drawing too close to its maximum.

0taku's power supply is only 500W, hence the concern.

Also, one good card will always be better than running two at the same time.

 

I just had to upgrade my PSU, and this is what I bought. My 970 also died, so I just bought a 1070 with 8GB of VRAM.

 

EDIT: I also wanted to add, never mix cards. Always keep the same ones (i.e. 970 and 970, 1070 and 1070, ect.). A friend of mine learned that the hard way and fried his PC because of it.
