I'm trying to remap my xbox 360 controller so I can hot key the (shift key) to pull over cars and have the light command (insert) on the controller. I tried downloading jo2play that makes the 360 controller respond as if it was a keyboard. Gta is still recognizing the controller as a controller and it dose not do anything to the controls. I tried a blocker.dll and the game would not recognize the controller at all. any ideas on how I can do this?

Try Motionjoy, you can map both the PS3 Controller as well as the Xbox 360 Controller, but it's really difficult to custom map the button's with no control layout, and you need to open it up and reload your custom contoller setting's every time you boot up your computer.

I use Xpadder, I got ELS and the ELS toggle siren key to work with it, haven't tried to combo the keys for realism, some times one needs to make a U-turn with the lights on before you target the car

I had this problem with my xbox controller. It cannot be fixed. Because GTA is compatible with the controller it will always look to use the default controls.

The whole point of xpadder and motionjoy is to allow you to use controllers that don't work with all games, but because the controller actually works properly with GTA, you can't use any software to re-map the controls.

Xpadder allows key mapping to have the controller do multiple things there tom, I have ELS linked to mine and it works fine, with some small issue but thats not a giant issue

i still could not get it to work with my 360 controller but i did get it to work with my logitech controller using xpadder thanks for your help if someone finds out how to make it work with a 360 controller plz let me know
