More RAM better for LSPDFR?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong section but I was curious if more RAM would improve the overall LSPDFR experience? I'm well aware of the memory leak issue and I can confirm that is not my issue. When I play GTAV through RAGE, it runs at ~50FPS with LSPDFR, CopHolster, EUP, and TrafficControl (I also am using VisualV). When I go on duty/ForceDuty, it drops down to 20-30FPS (if I am patrolling in Los Santos) or 20-40FPS if I'm out in the countryside.

But.. when I'm playing through RAGE and I unload LSPDFR, it jumps to 60-70FPS and runs super smooth, keeping in mind my graphic settings are set on high. So as of right now I'm thinking that it can't be my GPU or CPU that is having problems, but maybe my RAM? I only have 8GB and I was thinking if I brought it up to 16GB that would help? Cause I know LSPDFR is constantly loading and running scripts in the background so I'm thinking that's where more RAM may help. I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks!

My Specs

CPU: 3.5 GHz FX-Series Six-Core FX-6120

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050

RAM: 8 GB SDRAM DDR3 @ 1866 MHz

Storage: 1 TB HDD 7200 RPM

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Due to the anti-modding junk code that was added to the game, calling various game functions (i.e making AI cops put away their weapons) take a lot longer (up to 3x at one point, I believe). This in general, deteriorates the performance of the modification, especially once you add more API plugins. No system upgrade can really remove this from happening, as for your RAM upgrade, it depends on how much you have, and how powerful the rest of the system is to know if you really would need it.

@Starmix @Cyan  Ah that makes more sense now, I can see how certain plugins aren't fully efficient for certain systems and what not. Thanks for the insight that's something that completely went over my head. And as for my CPU Cyan you're right, maybe gotta upgrade sometime down the road, thanks for the heads up!

@USMarineGuy Yeah man, wish it was fixable stuff  hopefully with more updates from the plugin authors they'll become more manageable!!
