I am hoping by taking the time to write down all the details possible we can come up with a solution for the crashing of my game and maybe the game of others. It seems that there is an issue with this and it can range from user error to a bug. I'm hoping another set of eyes can assist me with my crashing problem.

 

I started a few days ago on a fresh clean install of GTA V. I am not new to modding LSPDFR or LCPDFR. I've done it quite a bit.

I have a gameconfig.xml that fixed RDE crashing my game.

I noticed that in pursuits regardless of default callout or not it would crash within five minutes. Did not matter where I was, what vehicle I was in, if i did or didn't call backup manually... it would crash. ojerrorlog, ojerrorlog2, and ojlog3 are all generated crash reports from RAGE after these issues.

I read something about a bad backup.xml and remembered that I manually edited mine. So I reset custombackup.xml to the default RDE one. I played for 45 minutes without a crash. Multiple pursuits back to back no issue. ojerrorlog4 is where it crashed after that 45 minutes.

I want to figure out what the problem is. I also have a red text line that pops up when my LSPDFR plugins load. It says bad .ini setting to defaults. Yet it doesn't say which .ini is bad. I've set multiple back to default but still get that message.

Any and all help is appreciated. I just started up LSPDFR and the plugin kept crashing as soon as i turned it on. Though I don't think it created a log for RAGE.

RDE is currently not compatible with the latest GTA versions.  I'm willing to bet your crashes are from that.

All RDE crashes were easily resolved with a new gameconfig.xml. What else would make it non compatible? I see they are releasing 3.1 in a couple days. So perhaps that will solve any issue. Though if there is anything else wrong in the logs that would be great if someone could say so.

I have been having the same issue. After updating a BIOS and re-installing the newest windows 10 update as well aa a clean install of GTA V, LSPDFR, Rage & fresh downloads of ALL my plugin's I still crash at a seemingly random time around the 7-8min mark of playing. (Before and after installing VisualV.) I should count myself lucky because up until yesterday I wasn't able to forceduty at all without crashing.

 

The strangest part is that if you were to look at the log by itself there is no evidence of a crash at all, and anyone familiar with crash logs would be under the impression that the game continued running without error.

I think we will need to get a few mod authors attention and get them to come up with a solution. I bet if one of the massive LSPDFR youtuber's were having this problem we would have a hotfix within a day hahaha

 

Edit: My best guess is that this is not a Rage or LSPDFR problem (since neither plugin recognizes anything even went wrong to cause the crash) I think it is something on the GTA side of things. And if that suspicion is true that could mean that Rockstar has started changing code and updating certain files within the structure without packaging it within a new version update in order for it to go unnoticed. However, that would directly contradict their stance on supporting the mod community with the whole Open IV fiasco.

He hasn't been affected by this problem but is betting it is somehow linked to the game config.

 

I will back up my current config & try them. You should too and we will compare our results.

Just have to wait a couple days. In the meantime I'm working on completely cleaning out GTA V and starting fresh. That way I can be ready for the new RDE version.

Which one? There are 18 total.. Folder 4B has been working (without crashing) so far. Doesn't have the high amounts of traffic that I like.

The one that says normal traffic. 1x ped and vehicles.

still working my way down the list to confirm. The first 2 crashed my game at the initial loading screen when "Loading plugins" came up.

Folders 8A-8D are for increased traffic & peds. I'll test them now & see if they cause any problems.

 

The new gameconfig added about 20-30mins to my average playtime before randomly crashing. So.. This fix may only be a Band-Aid.

We need to get to the bottom of what's causing this.

Depends what your issue is I guess. I managed to play 41 minutes with the band aid.

So here is what I've done in prep for RDE 3.1 on August 10th.

Fresh clean, verified integrity through steam.

Installed all the required mods, LSPDFR plugins, RAGE plugins and other mods that I've used.

Tested it a lot. I'm not using any mods that require Open IV. No crashing. I think LSPDFR crashed once but not GTA V and that was right after a callout created by another mod.

Prior to this fresh start I had RDE modded, the custom gameconfig added and I managed to play for 41 minutes. So based on what people are saying with RDE being broken it could be that RDE was causing crashes when I entered a new region that required different units for backup. 

So I'm hoping the new RDE is going to solve the majority of problems.


I do not know why anyone would NOT use RDE. It makes modding vehicles in such a breeze. They have every department you can imagine and you can easily just mod their files to add ELS vehicles. BradM has done such a great job with ELS packs. It has been a pleasure to mod GTA V for the first time ever.

I had an issue with herocop crashing on me. I also at one point got lspdfr crash with ini notice. I replaced the lspdfr ini with its original n dont get that error anymore. I also had crashes from bankcallouts. My onky issue now is dim lights
